Same here. Every single one I’ve checked with is giving me MSRP. I tell them that’s crazy and then tell them I’m a member of an FCA Affiliate and get that discount. They will honor that but nothing more. It’s very aggravating seeing the deals people were getting before all this but I get it. We’re in odd times. I’m still kicking myself for not buying in April. Saw many good deals then and was hoping for the same or better in May for Memorial Day but the good deals are gone for sure. I’m still considering building a 2020 but now with more info coming out on the 2021’s I’m thinking about just waiting and ordering one of them.

If you're intent on ordering a Ram, I'd definitely wait for the books on the 2021s to open up for resale value alone. Remember, in a few weeks, you'd be buying a one year old model already and with the terrible incentives, you're not even getting a discount for that.

Thanks for the info! That’s helped make my mind up. Waiting for the 2021’s it is. I actually saw on the ram website on Monday when I went to the price and build page that 2021 was an option up above the trucks beside 2019 and 2020. I clicked the 2021 and it went to blank page saying page not responding. Must’ve been a glitch but hoping the books will open on those orders soon. Is it usually around the end of July or August?

I just got off the phone with the order specialist at the main dealer in my area. He said they’re placing their orders tomorrow for August deliveries of 2020’s. He said the factories are back in full production now? I asked about 2021’s and he said they haven’t been given a date for those yet. Still think I’m going to hold off for the 2021’s though.

New trucks are rolling out, just passed a semi loaded with new 1500 & 2500's so they are at least leaving rail yards and heading to dealers.

The dealer here (one in another city I'd never dealt with) played that game. Giving me about $2500 off MSRP dealer discount plus rebates. Mentioned Affiliate discount, it came down even more (1% below invoice).
Dealer finally threw in some "FCA incentive coupons" in to make it worth the worth the while.
I ended up getting running boards, a bedliner, tint, and some rubber floor mats as well (I don't think the dealer even knew the boards and bedliner were not part of the truck's price (they were dealer added options).

ALL depends on how hard you want play and be willing to walk out. I did walk out, but finished negotiating in text the next day. I was there by noon picking up the truck.

Well, of course they can give $6000 on an upper trim Denali.....

GM is the only one giving decent incentives right now ($6000 rebates on AT4s and Denali Sierras in TX) as Ram's are just terrible my experience has been dealer's only willing to go about $7K off sticker with dealer discounts but then want to tack on $2K BS "protection packages" so if you're intent on a Ram.....just wait.

I traveled lower 48 and Alaska on motorcycle, all on secondary roads, never had problem finding gas station within 200 mile radius. On my Harley 6 gallon tank good for 230 miles to the tank, on the BMW 7.9 gallon 370 miles to the tank. Few nights had problem finding hotel room but never gas station.
Now try doing that in the winter. Many of those stations are seasonal.

One comment/question about one of your statements above.......
“I doubt you can hold off on picking up your truck for more than days, certainly not weeks and weeks.”

I have already ordered a truck through Koons in DC. I live in Georgia. However I plan to go on a vacation for 2 weeks near the time the truck “may“ get delivered to the dealer. So if I am out of town, on the west side of the country on vacation, you don’t think the dealer would hold onto my truck till I can get there? We have already agreed to the price plus rebates etc. in writing. It is a SOLD vehicle in my mind. Do you think they would sell it out from under me and keep the deposit? There is nothing in writing that says I must pick up the truck within a certain amount of days or weeks from arrival to the dealership before I lose my deposit and the rights to the truck. I agree if it’s more than a couple of weeks then they would probably have a stronger leg to stand on (unless the person was in the hospital for Covid19 or some other good reason). Thoughts?
Communication is all it takes. A couple weeks max because you are out of town they should understand. A few more weeks just because you aren’t wanting to go get it yet they might balk. I’ve never ordered so take what I think with a pound of salt... you could always call a dealer and ask.

You do realize that a fully loaded Denali prices LOWER than a Loaded Limited (5.7 V8 vs. 6.2 V8)? So based on that argument (it was $6500 last month), why is Ram giving a paltry $1500? Exactly.

This was a hell of a deal on a 19, but it was white.

Yes because you got almost $11K in rebates. What is the rebate break-out...be interesting to see because Ram rebates aren't even close and although your's looks like a BigHorn/LoneStar trim, I think those rebates were $4500 without Chrysler Capital so you still got another $6K+ on top of that.

$3000 if you finance with Chrysler Capital and $2500 if you don’t. Those are the national incentives for OK. First Responders and Military have $500 and USAA has $1000. Those are the most common TDM rebates.

There is also an additional $1000 Conquest rebate if you own a different brand 1/2 ton truck.

Ok, looking for some more guidance. Thanks in advance as this forum has been wonderful and everyone is so polite.
My search has taken a bit of a turn.
  1. Started at 5.7L no etorque 4WD 1500 CC/SB Big Horn Lv2 with LED lamps and bed group. Low $50-$53k MSRP and hoping for a low $40s buy price. Hard to find the right truck around here.
  2. Then said I’ll just look for 5.7L no etorque 4WD 1500 CC/SB Laramie Lv1 with bed group since it’s the same truck with heat/cool Leather & blind spot. More trucks available but most have more adds and with current pricing it’s hard to be under $45k.
  3. So I started looking into 2019 1500 Big Horn Classics. I have found quite a few new trucks still available. CB / SB with 5.7l and option package w/heated seat group. Comes with F/R park sense, bed lamps, power fold mirrors, 8.4” screen. All the stuff I want. MSRP is $49k. I am seeing prices in the $35ks to start. This truck checks off my “wants” and I think I’m more interested in the “deal” than the new gen cab. Mechanically it’s pretty much the same correct? I don’t mind the looks one bit.
I’m assuming a year ago a good buy on a $49k MSRP Classic was ~$40k ish.
What do you think the right buy for a brand new one today?
I’m tempted to see If I can get it closer to $32k, or maybe just see if the dealer will include/install trailer brake, remote start, all weather mats, and do the linex bed treatment. That will cost me $1300-$1500, can’t cost them nearly as much.

I’m waiting for my credit union loan check to show up.
Once I have it I can pretty much go somewhere and make an offer.

Thoughts?
Ps: which forum do I post in if I purchase a classic?

i 100% agree this forum has really cool members... in my 2 yrs haven't even come close to running across ONE fool here : ) ...Can't say THAT about any place on line these days....

Next, i would say if you REALLY have given it enough thought and are willing to have a new truck with the older body style, before you pull the trigger on a 2019 classic, look around for a super low milege 4th gen and i will bet you could prolly find a great deal on a 2018 loaded Laramie and i'm sure it would easily meet or beat the price a new 2019 classic would cost you....

I don't think it requires MSRP, just lose the incentives. Either way you will get upside down fast... never a good thing.
Agreed. But yes..MSRP is required to qualify for 0%. That's how I ended up shopping for used. Ford, GM and Chrysler are all the same on that. It's actually cheaper if you take 3-4% financing with incentives in tact lol

Hey guys new to this forum,
looking to purchase 2020 ram limited v8/ without etorque I had a dealer price me at $54297 and then tell me they added a protection plan which bring the price to $57297.
I told him I didn't want it and he said it standard.
What shall I do?
Msrp on the truck is $68025

That’s a lot better than the quotes I’ve been getting from multiple dealers on my Laramie build. Basically no incentives off the Affiliate pricing. I’m waiting for 2021’s

If you don’t want the protection plan see if they would include some things you do want from the Ram parts catalog. Essentially they make money on the plans. They are trying to make more money. If the truck needs a bed liner, tonnue cover, all weather mats, etc see about those. They make money on them too, maybe not as much.
Or read the fine print on protection plan / extended warranty. A lot of them can be cancelled quickly for almost a full refund. They are prorated for how long you keep it. I sold a car with a transferable warranty and it was more money for me to just cancel it than try to pass it on to the buyer.

It's your's for 15 days after it's invoiced upon arrival at the dealership. If you locked any incentives at the time of order, they are also good for only 15 days after the truck arrives. I've ordered before and was able to negotiate an additional $500 because I knew the College Grad bonus was about to be added and my truck arrived on the 17th of the month so the 15 days carried me into the next month. The dealer agreed to give me an additional $500 off before I took delivery because they wanted to make sure they booked the sale at the end of the month it arrived.

Bottom line it's not actually sold until you buy it (pay for it). They HAVE to hold it for 15 days after they receive it and if you don't finalize the transaction by then, they can sell it to whomever they want.

Heminator, after reading your post yesterday, I googled this and could not find the answer anywhere. Not doubting you but I would like to see where that is in writing. This is my first time for ordering a new vehicle. I want to know my rights in case I am gone when it comes in. I‘m sure some dealers will try to put pressure on you when it comes in to say you only have 3 days to pick it up for example. Thanks for yours and anyone else’s input on this. I am sure this will help more than just me.

All those waiting for 2021's, reality is orders for them likely won't be opened up until later summer (july/august) and won't start arriving on dealer lots until mid fall. So far the only real change noted for the 2021 model is the UConnect 5 system. With that said, it is a brand new system so expect the same glitches/crap with it as some are currently having with the current system. And with that said, every year there will always be something newer and greater in terms of technology. I am happy with my 2019 Limited and have no plans on trading for at least 4-5 years when they do a mid cycle refresh.
