The HDs might be due for a nice discount. Maybe Aug 1?

I joined the forum specifically for this thread. Thanks to all who have posted great info and advice. Looking forward to details on August incentives, thus far I don't see any updates on Ram's site. Hope to join the ranks soon with my first truck being a 1500.

I'm currently working on a deal for a bighorn crew cab, this will be my first truck! From what I am seeing on here it looks like if you can get near 30% off msrp that is a great deal, I just want to check in and see if anyone has seen any deals better than that in the st louis area? Thanks all, love this forum already!

I was at 30.3% off MSRP and felt like I got a great deal.

One question I have is why don't they discount the Laramies and higher trim levels the same amount as the Big Horns?

Usually, manufacturers don't discount their highest trim level trucks because the people looking at those $60k+ trucks can typically just afford them. At least, that's what dealers have told me in the past... basically, "if you're looking at a 60k/70k truck, you can just afford it, you don't need a deal."

Yea they all kind of do that. I think it’s because most people want to spend 30-35k, so they market these trucks up a lot (IMO) and give a bighorn 50k MSRP (higher than base Laramie) and then do these 15k off deals and people feel like they got a steal. Seems to work well.

But IMO, the bighorns should be like 45k give or take, so the deals aren’t as good as they look because they just ran the MSRP up as a sales gimmick. Again, just my opinion, I think getting a loaded big horn for 35-37k is a good buy, I just don’t think it was ever worth 50-53k or however high they get now.

I bought a 2019 1500 limited on 7/29. Dealer sold it 21% off MSRP. 69,850 Sticker. 55,187 +ttl and $250 doc fee. It was this lot's last limited and they had trouble selling it. Not a lot of people looking to spend on a limited in our area of Ohio. This dealer group (Jim Shorkey Ram) sells 1500 cars/month. My advice is find a high volume, low margin dealer.

Another dealer in my area only would take 9k off MSRP on a similar truck.

Hope this helps someone

I just bought new 2019 Laramie 7/31. Dealer discounts/rebates totaled 24% off MSRP. I felt pretty good about the deal! And I love the Laramie model.....it's sweet!!

This thread should only include trim package, actual sticker MSRP (no dealer adds), date of build, price paid, and doc fee.
I think there are quite a few stretched % off's on here. There are some factory discounts on old builds on the higher trims.
You have MSRP, Invoice, FFP, EPP (must qualify), HB ( dealer hold back), and rebates. Unless you're buying a classic, big horn, or old dealer stock I call BS on 25%+ off after July 1st (unless they back dated it). There is no magic discounts.
If a dealer discounts their overpriced dealer adds or doc fee's they don't count.
I just bought a limited at 15% under MSRP and I worked them. My dealer had no doc fee's, no adds, split the hold back with me and gave me $750 in preferred customer coupons (the dealer gets a limited # of these each month to help push deals). I got the competing truck $1000 rebate, Chrysler financing $500, plus 0% for 36 months, $1000 in targeted credit union cash, and the $500 southwest bonus cash. It was $400 cheaper to go with invoice pricing over affiliate since some of these discounts don't stack.
I missed out on the across the board 15% MSRP discount waiting for delivery of my truck. Could of saved close to $5k. I doubt that comes back. Dealer stock is dwindling daily and 2020's are on the line right now.

Delmonico Red Laramie ‘Sport’ built in March, with most options, except air bags and power running boards. Sticker $63,715. Paid $46,572. Truck off the lot, vs ordered. Took me an impatient full year to wait for a truck with the options I wanted to show-up on some US dealer’s lot. Been scanning every US dealer’s inventory for seemingly forever. Timed delivery for June 30 to get best deal: end of 2nd quarter and it’s now the end of 2019 model year (dealers are getting ready for 2020’s and already aggressively unloading 2019’s... as is Ford and Chevy). Any discount off sticker that is not at least 20% at this time of year for a 2019 means you are paying too much. Will be converting the Laramie to the Canada Sport appearance.. which should be similar to the new 2020 Night Edition Big Horns and Laramies coming out in a few weeks.

This deal includes a bunch of incentives most people won't qualify for. Another bait tactic. Get you in the door with a low price and then reveal once negotiating you don't qualify for most of the incentives.
Not trying to be a **** or crap on your post, but people need to know this stuff.

Just got this in my email and if anyone is still looking for one.

Thanks

Looks like we have the same truck except I have the body color bumpers. I swapped my 22” wheels for a set of Laramie 20” for now. My wife paid 50,439 +TTL in June.

Congrats on the beautiful truck, and I agree on finding a high volume low margin dealer.
