I'm a little confused in that I seem to pretty much match Ryelinek, yet I m down 29 lbs.
Thank you. Will get that into the next thread, @202snowman

I just did 4x4 limited with pay loads in the 1400s. To test the process.

Thanks to everyone who had helped so far.

Keep this info coming.

Not only did I pick the limited because of most our info was from them, but also cause there isn't very many options.

Very interesting how much they change with not many changes to be made.

Just seen this. Yeah, that is odd.

I also picked the limited to start with cause it only had the 5 passenger seating.

Wonder why you are down...paint don't changet no weight lol

Ya, i'm confused as well (and he has painted bumpers). The truck in a March build...I wonder if something changed?

Based on what you guys posted you have identice trucks.

Do either of you have rhe protection group or is there a difference in anything else.

Very odd if they are the same.

I didn't list painted bumpers in the post because i figured it didn't affect weight.

Will be interesting to see what the difference is.

Ya I have no idea about that. Someone else with the exact build asked me as well.

Only I can think of is maybe there was a part/batch/supplier change of something on the line and build date could have something to do with it. Who knows.

Ok I put together a spreadsheet with all the payload and option info we have on Limited trim/4x4/5'7". Based on the spreadsheet the following numbers work exactly for all the trucks so far (except ryelinek). These are still a work in progress so there will be more refinement.

Here's the weight of the most common options (as near as I can tell till we get more data):

Limited trim - 166lbs
Bed utility group - 25
Level 1 - 86
Advanced safety group - 50
Sunroof - 70
Anti spin - 16
eLocker - 16
3.92 Axle ratio - 0
eTorque - 80
Brake controller - 0 (not full tow package)
Body colored bumpers - 0
22" wheels - 0 (vs 20" standard wheels)
33 gallon fuel tank - 73 (91 if eTorque equipped)
Offroad Group - 119 (minus eLocker)
Ramboxes - 163

To test this, start with the payload listed in the towing chart for the 4x4/Crew Cab/Hemi/5'7" bed configuration (1800lbs). Then subtract the weight of each option to get to the number on your payload sticker.

If you have a Limited/4x4/5’7” and get a different payload number let me know what your payload sticker says and a full list of your factory options and I can try to refine the numbers.

Other option weights (not specific to any trim)

Wheel to wheel side steps - 60
4 corner air suspension - 34
6’4” bed - 50
4x4 - 240 (but you get 200 more GVWR so 40 net reduction in payload)

Did the only rebel. It was easy as most is standard on it also.

Really want one of these.

Laramie Crew 5'7"

7100# GVWR - 1424 = 5676 Vehicle Weight if I'm correct?

You're doing some great work. Here is the 2016 optional weights document you can cross reference with as well. Sometime RAM should be releasing the 2019 version, which will include the official weight for each of these items.

Just saw that chevy has put a sticker on that really breaks it down. Wonder if they got bit by someone who towed at the max tow and had issues.

Or maybe they just really want to help their customers.

That is LONG overdue. All the manufacturers should follow their lead.
I agree, look at all the thought we put into this...and other people just buy theit truck and away they go towing what they want. Usually everything goes well and the return safe at the end of the day...but this would let people see what they are really capable of and no bs from either the Ram salesman or the trailer salesman.

Really wish Ram would release a little more info about how much their truck really has for payload and towing.

Haven't seen anyone say they have the max tow truck yet...can't wait to see what that really has for payload and trailering.

And can't wait to see how really dismal the payload is on the HFE truck.

HD discusion will be soon.

Good times.

Any idea how they came up with max tongue weight? As long as your tongue weight and passengers/cargo don't exceed max payload, everything should be good. Seems arbitrary to me but always looking to learn something.

10% of tow rating for that configuration.
