Evidently it pays to be the squeaky wheel. My new truck has been at the dealership since last Wednesday, and the paperwork is all signed, but they then told me I can't have the truck until the recall work is complete. I called the service department Thursday, Friday, Saturday and again this morning. They said they had no parts and didn't know when they would have them. So I called Fiat Chrysler's recall department directly, explained the situation and asked them to expedite the parts to my dealer, in my name and gave the VIN number. Turns out since I haven't had possession of the truck yet they can't do that...but they did call the dealership and had a chat with them. Miracle of miracles, the dealership called this afternoon and said the parts would be installed tomorrow morning and I can pick up my truck in the afternoon. :)

Time to find a new dealer

It sounds like this is a fairly common occurrence among dealers, trying to sell existing inventory rather than worrying about fixing trucks already sold. Ad to that the rationing of parts. I spoke with a friend of mine who is the service manager at a dealership in another area and he said they could only get six sets of parts a week. My truck just happened to get caught in that odd spot between inventory and off the lot, so I dealt with it accordingly.

I think I posted what I am going to post here in a similar thread. I was at my dealer on the 6th of March and no parts available. So when I was back at home an hour and a half later, I received a call from my service manage that some had come in after I left and he was putting the parts needed for me away and I could get the recall done. I went back on Saturday (March 9th and had the recall completed.) Service manager was not there but they found the part and completed my Recall. What is interesting, I was there again on Monday (March 11) with my Jeep Cherokee (minor problem) and I talked to a service writer who owns a 2019 Ram and I mentioned about my recall and he said they didn't have any parts as he was waiting for his too. He was not listening too well and I told him I had my recall completed the previous Saturday. (he was off work that day) I have purchased a lot of vehicles from them so I should be ahead of him but he didn't smile too much.

I bought my truck on 2/18/19 and picked it up the 20th. The next night the dealer called me to bring the truck in due to a safety recall on brake pedal. That was after i was playing with the pedals and adjusting everything else to my likens..Glad nothing happened. They said they were not suppose to let me take it until repair was done.So glad they pay attentions to extreme safety recalls before letting trucks leave there lot.Only took them 20mins to fix.

Got mine done (along with the power steering ground) when I took my truck in for something else. I don't notice a difference, but I keep the pedals all the way toward the firewall anyway.

I had the recall done this morning but had FCA ensure the part was there before I brought it in. Truck was done in 2 hours and now has to go back for brake TSB but at least they ordered the parts for it.

9/26 build and needed both recalls. I'm pretty sure the pedal issue was a design problem, not a supplier issue.

Just had the recall done.

My gas pedal feels very loose (left/right side to side there is some travel). I should have checked BEFORE the recall to see if this is a result of the work done. Is this normal?

Can folks who have, or have not had, the recall done check if you gas pedal has some left/right travel? (brake pedal feels solid). If this is not normal I guess I need to go back to the dealer.

I was at the dealer today and no recalls. Truck had them all done when I picked it up about three weeks ago.
