So after the update last week, I still have frequent blips/cutouts when listening to Spotify over Android Auto (much like a CD skipping), but I haven't had Uconnect completely punt my phone off and throw an error. So I guess there's that.
I haven't noticed any other differences, but wasn't having any other issues (other than my fob unlock behavior not always matching settings as discussed in another thread).
Trying to understand what problem that would solve. Can you explain?Wonder if there’s an option to extend the WiFi antenna cable further into the cab.

I’m wondering if there’s connection is bad because the signal from the antenna is not reaching our phones. I’m having the same intermittent issues with CarPlay too. I looked at the diagram of the Uconnect radio and it has a plug for WiFi antenna in the back. So wondering if that antenna can be extended out somehow into the cab so we get better signal.

I'm not using in-vehicle WiFi and am connecting to the vehicle via Bluetooth. When I added CarPlay to my older bmw in the past, I had to get a WiFi antenna cable and it sat in the cabin. Never had CarPlay connection drop in my 2017 bmw.

The Bluetooth/wifi antenna that the phone uses is mounted behind the trim that is between the upper and lower glovebox.Android auto and Apple CarPlay use Bluetooth to connect, but the data is transmitted over the WiFi antenna.

Just for reference, when people swap UC5 radios into trucks that had UC4 radios, most people don’t even plug that antenna in (me included), and there’s never and wireless CarPlay/AA connection issues.
You better listen to Jimmy07. He knows that stuff. There’s never a common agreement on anything

My music skipped before AND after the same update. But I haven't had it randomly boot my phone entirely off uconnect since the update.View attachment 211232FYI. Here’s the notice I got after the update. Lists the fixes. Oddly enough it seems like my music streaming is occasionally skipping after the update. I don’t remember it doing this before.
Hi there, feel free to contact our UConnect team directly at (877)-855-8400 for support.Good lord these trucks. Got this update notification today when I got to work. Hit the OK button. Came out to a dead truck. No clue if the update even took. All these electronic gremlins are something else. Even jump starting the thing is excercise in electrical engineering. You have to jump/charge both batteries for about 3-5 minutes it seems otherwise it won't work.
Any way to know if the update took @RamCares ? How would I know? Everything was dead when I got in.
I doubt the UConnect people will be at all helpful in this case unless you need their help in navigating the menus to see what version of the software you have now. Their expertise ends at finding where to set options, how to pair your phone, and stuff like that.Hi there, feel free to contact our UConnect team directly at (877)-855-8400 for support.

And a couple of times in the past few weeks it has resumed booting my phone entirely, but has automatically reconnected after a few minutes each time. That happens at least once a day on my phone but also happens to a buddy of mine who has a Ford. I think ONE of the contributing factors is interference from other signals. There’s a part of Vegas where I can drive and it boots my phone EVERY SINGLE TIME. His Ford does the same in the same spot. And a couple of times in the past few weeks it has resumed booting my phone entirely, but has automatically reconnected after a few minutes each time.
