New OTA Update for Uconnect Software

So after the update last week, I still have frequent blips/cutouts when listening to Spotify over Android Auto (much like a CD skipping), but I haven't had Uconnect completely punt my phone off and throw an error. So I guess there's that.

I haven't noticed any other differences, but wasn't having any other issues (other than my fob unlock behavior not always matching settings as discussed in another thread).

Wonder if there’s an option to extend the WiFi antenna cable further into the cab.

Trying to understand what problem that would solve. Can you explain?

I’m wondering if there’s connection is bad because the signal from the antenna is not reaching our phones. I’m having the same intermittent issues with CarPlay too. I looked at the diagram of the Uconnect radio and it has a plug for WiFi antenna in the back. So wondering if that antenna can be extended out somehow into the cab so we get better signal.

When I added CarPlay to my older bmw in the past, I had to get a WiFi antenna cable and it sat in the cabin. Never had CarPlay connection drop in my 2017 bmw.

I'm not using in-vehicle WiFi and am connecting to the vehicle via Bluetooth.

Android auto and Apple CarPlay use Bluetooth to connect, but the data is transmitted over the WiFi antenna.

The Bluetooth/wifi antenna that the phone uses is mounted behind the trim that is between the upper and lower glovebox.
Just for reference, when people swap UC5 radios into trucks that had UC4 radios, most people don’t even plug that antenna in (me included), and there’s never and wireless CarPlay/AA connection issues.

There’s never a common agreement on anything
