Im saying that instead of going from say 15530.0 to 15530.1 it goes from 15530.0 to 15531.0 then continues normally. We dont drive my truck that much really just short trips, my wife and i both are very confused how we put over 15k miles on it in 9 months. We purposely try to not drive it that much
So your odometer shows the tenth miles? Mine doesn't, that is why I asked. So you can see a decimal point on your odometer screen? Can you post a video of this here so that we can see what is happening?

Post it on a Youtube channel and then just link to it in your message. I don't know that you can direct post videos here that aren't hosted elsewhere.

Well i can confirm with video evidence that my odometer is jumping forward a mile every once in awhile. More frequently lately I think bc i noticed it quite often. Very upsetting. My wife and I both the other week were trying to figure out how the heck we put so many miles on a truck we only drive short trips, now it makes sense.

Hi Ch28,
We certainly understand why this may be frustrating. If you decide to visit your dealer, feel free to loop us in! We'd be happy to connect you with a Case Specialist. Our team is available via private message.

I've noticed this twice in my truck a few months ago, haven't been paying attention since, but I don't think it's just a standard "start up procedure". Like the gas gauge for example, it will swing to empty and then back down to where it should be. It does it every time like clockwork, it's predictable. The OD sits at 9001 (or whatever) and then within a few seconds goes to 9010. It doesn't do it every time, in fact it I've only noticed it absentmindedly twice and other times I've looked for that behaviour but not seen it happen.

So why would it do that? Would it make sense for the truck to be at 9010 upon shutoff, drop to 9001 and then cycle back up to 9010 within 1 or 2 seconds? Makes no sense to me. Looks like some sort of glitch. I will try and capture it on my phone too if I can remember in time.\

Makes me wonder if that's the reason why I'm getting such good gas mileage. I sit at about 11 L/100km (21 mpg) in my daily rural/highway driving, but often drop down to 9.7 or 9.8 (24 mpg) on longer highway trips. Truck might be thinking I'm driving more KM on one tank than I actually am.

that video was while i was driving, havent check on startup, but while driving it should not be jumping up miles. I noticed it yesterday while driving and finally got to record it on my phone this morning. This is very concerning that my truck is most likely showing who knows how much extra mileage on it. From a warranty and resale value it very frustrating. I dont know how they would remedy this either, because I cant trust the dealer if they say its normal or its correct but i know its not. Like i said we try very hard to drive our other vehicles over my truck and have been wondering for months how i drove so much.

OK, that worked, and that is funky for sure. I saw it jump from 33 to 34 and then count off a tenth of a mile. Having that video will help you at the dealership. Question is how do they deal with the mileage overage?

My thoughts exactly. Whats my real mileage? Is my warranty going to run out when my real mileage is like 45k? Really weird, give me the old school odometer. Just going off what ive driven today, about 20 miles, it has added 5 that i noticed, thats 25٪ Even if its a software fix, how much did i lose?

So just to add to this. I set my trip odometer and drove 5 miles, my main odometer was at 47.0 exactly when i set the trip, so should be at 52.0, as you can see its 52.7, so added .7 miles. This is weird for sure.

Yikes, the warranty will roll over quicker, our mpg will be more optimistic and we might be doing maintenance sooner. Sounds like a win-win for FCA. :)

You also forgot that you would go through the leased mileage sooner...

If it's just a mile, I would suspect it's just a rounding issue. My odometer doesn't show tenth miles so I wouldn't be surprised that when you get to "2003.5" in miles, next time you start it shows "2004". But let's say it jumps a mile every single time you start it up. If it did it every single day, it would be an extra 365 miles in a year.

I guess you could have it checked out but unless you know the actual tenth miles I think you're chasing a ghost. Is there a way to turn on the tenth miles on the odometer?
Well, probably double that or more actually. Because you’re usually going somewhere, stopping, and then coming back. So that’s two starts per day. And if I have errands to run and I’m making multiple stops, that could be 5-6 starts, maybe more, on some days. Could be quite of bit of extra “mileage” in a year.

Just drove home from work a little bit ago. About 34 miles. Prior to leaving, I enabled the tenths spot on my odometer. Drove home from work watching the odometer as often as I could. I had also reset the trip odometer prior to leaving to see if it matched the main odometer’s mileage when I arrived at home. The mileage was correct for the drive home. Didn’t see any oddities with the odometer and the odometer mileage matched the trip odometer exactly. I guess maybe the OP’s problem could be hardware? Bad sender or something? But that doesn’t make sense with the other post about the trip odometer and the main odometer recording different mileages over the same distance. I’ll continue to keep an eye on mine.
