Magnaflow Exhaust installed!

Does anyone know what muffler comes with the system? Think I'm just gonna get the muffler put on and weld the weep holes.

It won't work with the factory tailpipes: the MF muffler is dual outlet. Take a look under your truck...

That depends on what you are specifically looking for in sound and performance. Everyone's taste or need/want is different. For me, totally worth the investment as I was familiar with their quality and sound from previous vehicles.

Lol well that was zero help. So if I put the same magnaflow muffler on my truck vs not putting on their whol system
Okay didn't know if there we're different inlet outlet options for the same type muffler...

You can still do it. Its an offset 1 in and 1 out. I was just wondering myself on sound difference.

IMO, it is totally worth the investment to put their whole system on your truck. Their quality is excellent and their larger exhaust tips look better than stock.

Got mine installed this evening. My buddy who has the lift in his shop has been a bit busy lately, but we installed this system in less than 2 hours on his lift...and that's with a lot of conversation going on too. ;)

It sounds great to me. I don't listen to my radio very loud, and on the drive home from my buddy's house, I had to go from 8 to 9 or 10 on the volume to completely cover it up, so not bad at all. With the radio turned all the way down, I do notice the MDS changeover a little more than with stock, but not enough to bother me. It seems like it will be very nice at cruising speed, and gives some volume when you get on it. Idle is perfect.

My only issue is that I need to get the driver's side tip lined up better. Once I drive it a couple of times, I'll crawl under it and loosen the clamps and see if I can get it to line up better.

I did put it on OR2 for the uninstall, even with my buddy's lift. It gave us just enough room to get the exhaust without cutting it, but then, as luck would have it, I wound up cutting it anyway to get it back in the Magnaflow box. LOL! And when I cranked it up after everything was done, the air suspension wouldn't work right. We looked again to make sure we hadn't accidentally affected anything, and we hadn't. I decided I'd just try to drive it in OR2 and see what happened, and before I got out of his driveway, it corrected itself. :)

Remember that some followers of this forum used a stainless hose clamp on heavy hanger pin to stop side to side excess motion of rubber block to keep exhaust tip centered, if regular adjustment gives problems. Mine are off some side to side but i've not tried to adjust since exhaust shop installed system 600 miles ago. I figured I would give plenty of cool to heat back to cool cycles of driving before I try to readjust tips to bumper cutouts.IMG_3432.JPG

I’ve had my B2 Fabrications 18” Moderate tone muffler for the past 800 or so miles.

I was not too happy initially over the first couple of hundred miles, but the sound has either matured or i’ve gotten used to it. It really sounds great.

I researched a cat-back and found that the quality of the factory pipes for me was a waste of money to replace, so I just did the muffler.

I asked the installer about plugging the resonator weep holes, but he recommended not as the holes were designed for condensation to escape. If I wanted to later, he’d remove the resonators if I wanted he exhaust any louder. I am pleased don’t want it louder.

I paid $260 for the mangaflow, no tax, no shipping, and $40 for the install.

I installed my Magnaflow catback over the weekend and I am experiencing the same issue with trying to get the driver's side tip to line up correctly. My buddy and I got the passenger side with no problems but the driver's side does not want to center. I have loosened, adjusted, and retightened several different times and always end up with the same result.

can you put up a sound clip

Have you folks with these off centered issues contacted Magnaflow about this ?

I did mine on my hoist and still had to move the spare tire heat shield to get it out in one piece. The passenger side tip was out of centre a bit but a hose clamp on the hanger got it perfect View attachment 11514
Here is that post from Warmachine about using a stainless steel hose clamp to limit rubber block movement of hanger assembly. I have not tried it yet but sounds like simple cheap solution. (Kudos to Warmachine!) I figured I would give exhaust some more miles before final adjustment as it isn't touching bumper cutout arc and weather is crappy so no one even notices, anyway. (Portland, Oregon rainy season!)

It always seems to be the case when black tips are ordered. Is there some special process, or are black tips in the minority so the manufacturers never plan well concerning that ?
I ordered the black tip version 12/17/18. Shows it won't ship until January 11th.

This looks exactly like mine. I added a hose clamp on the driver side. Didn't fix it completely, but doesn't look as bad now. I tried for over an hour to get it lined up. The first hanger also seemed too long. I had to pull down about an inch on the factory pipe for it to bolt up. Muffler is about 1/8 in from frame. Tightened from front to back.

How does it sound with the eTorque system? Does it sound weird when the engine cuts on and off (at a stop light for example)?

With mine, when eTorque commences, it goes silent. Upon it "restarting", it has a slight rumble. I personally love the sound.

Just installed my system. I did it by myself in about 2 hours. An extra pair of hands would have been helpful but I used a jack to hold the muffle while I bolted it up and that worked fine. Went very smoothly and my tips lined up perfectly. Very happy with the overall quality and sound. You definitely know it is there when you get on it! I would definitely buy this system again.
