Lowered the rear 2" last night.

Well I completed the install today and am pretty pleased with the results. The ride is great and the look is great too except for the fact that the passenger side only came down 1” instead of 1.5 like the drivers side. Not sure if i am going to cut the spring to make the passenger side even but honestly its not the springs its the body of the truck. Frame height is dead on but center wheel to wheel fender is off so nothing against the springs. Even the front on the drivers side is lower than the passenger side. I have had this issue on all my fords i have owned and one Chevy and it used to drive me crazy but i guess i am starting to accept it now lol! Any ways Here is a pic of the finished product from the trucks good side :ROFLMAO:
Do you rub with those tires now?? What sizes are they?

Installed my springs today. Got 1 1/8 on drivers side and 1 1/4 on pass side. Guess I'll cut em, lol

I installied these same springs two days ago.

orininal measuremeets....

Driver Front 36”
Driver Rear 38 1/8”

Passenger Front 36”
Passenger Rear 38 3/8”

new..... DR 36 1/2“, PR 37”

not a very good after picture, sorry......
ride is about the same...... can’t tell any difference, other than MAYBE it squats more under heavy throttle.... but slow speed rough roads and smooth highway 80mph seems to ride the same.

call me crazy, but I think I’m getting 2—3 more mpg!!

Yes! I returned them. Negative rake. They came with a Chevy SUV instruction lol. I would use them is I was to lower the front.

Got my drop springs put in today, loving the look. The mechanic who did it for me was worried about not having shorter shocks or some type of limiter to keep the spring from falling out if you hit a big bump or something, said he wouldn't run it this way. Anybody has any problems or done anything additional with the drop springs?

Is that the longbed you have there? Can you post a side pic? I have a silver longbed on order and would like to see a side pic. I have the lowering springs on my current 2019 quadcab and love the look and ride have never had an issue with bottoming out. Not sure if I want to lower the rear on this one or do a lift so aside pic of yours will give me an idea which direction I might go.

I've had the drop springs in for almost 10 months. I drive like I stole it with some light to moderate off roading and have zero issues. I will add that I replaced the sway bar links with shorter ones as the sway bar (Hellwig upgrade) hung down too low for my liking. The OEM shock is enough to limit travel in my opinion

I was trying to decide what I wanted to do with my truck, lift it, lower it, or level it.
So for right now I decided to level it by putting 2" lowering springs in the rear.
I'm still undecided if I want the lowered look, 2/4, 3/5 with some 24's or 26's or if I want to do a 6" lift and run 35's or 37's. I guess I will wait and see what lowering kits they come out with for the 19 4x4's.
But for now I'll be running it this way till I can really decide what I'm going to do, as I really don't care for the stock rake look.

That looks so much better, my -2 springs are supposed to be here today.

I have had mine on for over 15K miles with no issues. I haven't changed anything but the springs. No end links or shocks or nothing. No problems at all!

I was prepared to have my suspension guy install the 272920 Maxtrac rear springs but he decided he would call MaxTrac directly to make sure they were the correct springs. Well they started asking all sorts of questions: 2wd or 4wd, 5 lug or 6 lug, etc. Well guess what: Maxtrac says the correct spring is 272720.
272920 is a universal model for both 2wd/4wd applications and not updated. Of course the NEW spring is more expensive.
Anyone know the difference or have experience with the newer spring? I really would hate to go against the manufacturer recommendation.

Looking back at my receipt I guess I have the 272920, did they say what the difference is? I just got mine last week and so far so good. Looking at the accessory partners website it looks like the 272720 is actually a 3 inch drop, mine is 4wd and perfectly level with the 2 inch drop so I definitely wouldn't wanna go the 272720 route. This listing is super confusing though.

The website is all jacked up. The link you included is correct, BUT if you scroll down into the product description, it says:

2019-2021 Dodge RAM 1500 2wd 3" Rear Lowering Coils - MaxTrac 272930

MaxTrac Suspension 272930 is designed as a 3" rear lowering coil spring to easily lower your 2wd 2019-2021 Dodge RAM 1500 from the factory stance. This spring offers a comfortable ride & is powder coated in our signature color for longevity of the coil.

Then under that , it lists the CORRECT # 272720 again as "what's included" . Damn

Now you see why my suspension shop wanted to call them in person.

Well, I contacted AP and they thanked me for pointing out the website error. The 3" product description is an error and they are fixing it now. Confirmed that 272720 is a 2" drop. Then I asked the difference between new and old part #s on the 2"drop springs. Those of you running 272920s are fine. Here was the conversation with AP cust serv.:

ME: What is the difference between 272720 and 272920? They seem to be for the same application
AP: The 272720 is the newer design with the larger inner diameter. The 272920 is the coil we have done 100s of on the 19-21 new body with great results.
ME: which do I want? What is the benefit to the newer larger inner diameter?
AP: The larger ID fits the upper spring perch a little better but the drop is a little more conservative. The 272920 are proven long term with great results.

I have had the 272920 springs on my 2020 5th gen for over a year problem free. Still didn’t sit level so I cut a full coil off of them. A year later and zero issues. Even rides like stock.
