Their sensors mounted behind the bumper, which is metal on Ram, not plastic. Sensors will not work.

Jimmy07 thank you for all the help and support. I added the lights last night and went for a drive to the local hardware store and the BSM is already working on my truck! I don't have the mirrors yet, but the audio part of it will beep if someone is there! Crazy I haven't bought the taser to turn on the feature yet!

Well after changing out the glass and adding the wiring for the BSM, I realize I do have to activate it with AlfaOBD or the taser. I get the audio warning, but the lights on the mirrors don't light up.

For anybody doing the job and just replacing the mirrors, it's a very easy job! Just take your time on prying apart the mirror assembly. I did the driver one in about 50 mins, then the passenger side in about 30 mins. I accidently unclipped the power to the motor for the folding feature of the mirror assembly so I had to take apart the full thing. It took me less then 10 mins to do it and less then 5 to put it back together. It's super easy to do, just looks harder then it is.

20211001_160238.jpg 20211001_160248.jpg I don't have the sensors yet to verify, but I think these are the correct connectors. See the offset keying like the sensors have. Will update once I verify.

What is the difference between

68263397AE and 68442393AE?

I have a 2020 Sport and not sure which one to get. If it is 68263397AE, will the AD work on the 2020?

68263397Ax is not capable of trailer length detection. I know on the HD Rams, if you install this part number on a 2020+, the EVIC screen will remain stuck on the “select trailer type” screen. The description does say it works on 2019-2020 1500s, so they should be good on your truck. Use 68442393Ax if you want the trailer length settings to work.

So looks like I'll be in a similar situation with my 22 DT order. I currently own a 19 DT with BSM, which gives me full access to a donor to swap from.

Sounds like swaping the mirrors and the tails, will just leave me the jumper left. Does anyone know how complex the harness is that goes from under the driver seat to the CAN IHS? Could I swap that side of the harness out instead of jumping?

You can add the pins to do it, but you have to take apart some of the connector. There's a post on how to do it a few pages back. I believe like 6 or 8. I was going to go that route, but realized how easy it was to run the wires inside the wire loom I did to add the rear bed lights so it's just one harness lol.

You can’t swap that out because the missing section of wires is part of the body harness, so you would have to remove the entire interior to do that harness swap.

Damn, thanks for the quick reply. So the jumper should be the only portion I need to do after swapping the mirrors and tails, right?

Got mine all done. Works great. It was cheap since I was buying mirrors for 360 cameras anyways.

Special thanks to Jimmy and others who have contributed to this thread!

So I just picked up my new '21 Laramie and was in disbelief as I drove home when I realized it didn't have BSM like my '19 did. Will these instructions and part numbers work for a '21?
