Ordered in May '18 and delivered in Sept due to two "late availability" items: eTorque and RamBox. Absolutely love the truck still but it's had its share of work mostly due to new model year. I think this is the full list. Just over 33K miles on it after 3+ years (most of my miles went on the motorcycle during Covid!)

  1. Recalls for loose ground near battery, brake pedal, and reflash of something (seat belt tensioner?)
  2. Rear brake moan kit installed - fixed Chewbacca brake noise
  3. AC firmware flash to fix poor AC - didn't
  4. Flashed radio to fix boomy bass - didn't
  5. 12" radio replaced due to faulty GPS
  6. AC TSB done to fix AC - fixed it
  7. Battery died right before AC TSB visit. Bought upgraded third party battery and Ram sent me a check for it.
  8. Had both mirrors replaced due to stripped gears in the folding mechanism.
Running great now!

Isn't the insane prices of the new ones just offsetting any gains you're making on the trade-in?

I've thought of doing the same thing, but dealers aren't budging off MSRP, and MSRP is alot higher than it was in 2019.
Yes, gains I have right now on the 2019 offset the higher cost of the 2022, but it's a lateral move, which is OK by me. I am not losing, and I get a 2022 for the same monthly payment as my 2019, with a full warranty. RAM has a $3K discount listed, and I got another $2K off.

Bought my Laramie in Nov 2019 and love it. Just hit 65k miles
Had a reflash very early on, but not even sure what it was for. Dealer did it as part of the first service.
Had to take it in for a front end clunk. Turned out it was a TSB for a loose nut on the UCA - was pretty annoyed I had to pay for the service since it was a TSB and not a recall.
Other than that I haven't had any other issues yet, although now I'm going to be checking the manifold...

You meant ‘18, right? (Order and delivery)

This is a very subjective thread with many variables however I wanted to ask.

After much reading and finding many 2019s had first generation "bugs" and various issues how are they holding up in the coming year of 2022? For those of you who own still own a 19' how has your experience been this many years of ownership? Still resolving problems? Traded up? I am curious to hear some input.
I bought a used 2019 Laramie w 38k miles. My first pick up! Discovered moisture on the floor both front and back passenger side, and rain seeping in through a crack in the rear window frame. Dealer replaced rear window at no cost even though it was out of warranty and I did not purchase any warranty from them. Have not found moisture on the floor since then, but haven’t really driven it in hard rain since then either. Keeping fingers crossed the old leaky rear window was the culprit. Had the control center screen go blank on me one day, but it came back on later the same day.

2019 Bighorn. Bought in March 2020 with 59k. Now has 86k
1. Bad wiring in steering column. (Labor bill?)
2. Bad front auto air dam ($400 + labor)
3. Both front cv axles. Short shaft and front differential ($3k)

2019 Laramie Sport traded from a 14 Sport. It had 49,000 kms when I got it 2 months ago. I love some parts of this truck, looks great and all of that, but:

Battery

Weatherstripping (backorder)

Heater core (backorder)

Rear shocks (backorder) - how are the front shocks?

12” screen

Driver side step motor

Passenger side step motor (backorder)

Ram Box (no answer about a solution yet)

Whirring sound front right + pulls very hard right in 2wd

Averages 8mpg

-I’d have to check the service info to see if I’ve missed anything.

This puts me in a spot, and I’m not sure what to do. Will these issues be the only ones? At what point does my extended warranty no longer serve me? Do I ask that the truck be traded for something that is potentially better? Is this par for the course and should I just let them fix it all and hope for the best? It’s a lot of money to pay to be asking these questions in 2 months of ownership.

49,000 km only about 30,500 miles. I've got a Bighorn, probably doesn't have as much electronics, but your list seems a little long. I have had no issues with 35,000 miles. Battery could be normal maintenance item. You don't give much detail on symptoms or what made you think these parts need to be replaced. Besides all of the electronics, 8mpg seems way off normal, but I we don't know your engine or differential gear. If you have a warranty paying for this, you might be ok after getting these fixed. Your truck isn't "par for the course", seems like a lot of issues that shouldn't be happening at those miles. I don't think I'd keep this, but again, how did you determine or what specifics can you give about the listed items.
Edit: More details about your truck would be useful. If you look at bottom of my response, you'll see all of my truck details, many people do this, it makes helping others much easier when you know what they have.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I will do that.

Non e-torque 5.7, 3.92s, loaded except for air and trailer brake.

Symptoms were all pretty standard: antifreeze smell from day one that they couldn’t sort out, side steps would deploy half way and then return, radio would lose settings and HVAC would switch without me touching it. Truck was dead in the driveway 2 weeks in, battery replaced. Really bad wind noise that they *fixed temporarily until parts are available. Mileage, they haven’t said anything about that yet. Ram boxes were twisting, replaced the tops but now the sides are way out and super wavy. Service manager said they might just say to replace the whole box. Shocks were slamming hard over normal bumps.

Everything that I’ve listed has been confirmed but they don’t have an eta on parts for outstanding issues.

I suspect that my best bet is to try with another truck, aesthetically she’s a beauty, but too many tech/mechanical issues.

The heater core seems unlikely, I would guess more of a hose leak issue. I don't have auto side steps, but if they're only deploying part way, it could also be causing battery draw to wear down battery. I don't have the 12" screen, more electronics I don't know about. Seems like HVAC more related to electronics in 12" screen, I have actual dials and buttons, if I remember everything you have is control via screen buttons. I towed a 7k lb trailer to Yellowstone last August, worst mileage with headwinds was a little under 8mpg. Normal mileage right now in winter with no trailer, 3.21 gear, 15-16 mpg. I have Rambox's, they operate fine, no issues, but they are wavy, they don't line up perfect. I think others have said the same, that appearance isn't perfec. It might look better when new, but I think with time they start warping a little. As long as they latch, I'm ok with them because I like them and use them a lot. If you don't use them and the appearance is not to your liking, get a truck without them. I don't know if others have had issues with shocks, I haven't. If you can get a different truck, probably not a bad idea.

Talking to them about a new truck right now. Heater core was diagnosed 2 days ago, pooched for sure.

40,000 miles, no major issues. Tailgate had some trouble opening, but I think I resolved that with some white grease. Other than that, just the regular oil and filter changes. No issues yet.

Battery or maybe something else Huge Problem with ram 1500 2019 Laramie Limited, had the issue a year ago and posted thread but it seems that every year I’m dealing with dead battery fault. Driving normally and nothing seems to be going on no indication of a low battery or voltage Next day after sitting overnight parked ignition off. Wake up the next morning and key fob is not detected, truck is raise to the off-road position , have use manual door key to open driver doors, no lights on the dashboard and console display. At this point vehicle is completely shutdown..
Tried to jump start vehicle “All electronics dash console light up, engage start button “A loud Pop” as if blowing a fuse or when there’s a grounding issue. …Everything recycles and then goes completely dark again…The dealership has not come up with a precise diagnosis only explain that their electronic specialist has to do research and get back to them. I would like to know how to escalate this issue..,
Truck has less than 50K miles, and has been towed 5 times because of the same issue.
Beautiful truck lots of compliments but looks are not everything!!!

Just a note for the owners, Ram Cares noticed my posts and now I am working with a case manager.
Hopefully it works out and we can put aggravation to bed, and I can feel good about my RAM
