How are the 2019's holding up?

57K miles and still going strong.

I bought it in May 2019 (12/2018 build) and it has had plenty of issues (rear window frame leaking, gas tank filling issue, A/C not very cold, cracked exhaust manifold, and a host of other issues) over 10 service visits to date. Everything's resolved except for the A/C issue so I just bit the bullet and got some good tint.

Nothing has been earth-shattering or required a tow so I can't complain. I knew the risk diving in the first year of a new generation but I had no choice (truck got totaled and I had 2 weeks to find a new one) and RAM was the only one I liked that was new. That's saying something since I'm coming from nothing but 20+ years of Fords.

No regrets and I would go back and do it again.

I use Water Wetter in my racebikes...never heard of using it in conjunction with AntiFreeze. Can I ask what benefit that provides?

So far so good. Surprised none of my mods have caused any issues, but I have avoided doing anything that would interfere w/ the canbus or computer. (No inline tuners)

Only big issue was an odd case where 2 of the cylinders were misfiring about 1 year after I got it, I was out of town on a trip. Nearby FCA dealership swapped some of the parts between the 2 cyl that were having issues, and it automagically started working right.
For those that had exhaust or manifold bolt issues, I did have an aftermarket bolt shear itself apart from a 3rd party muffler, I think it was a hardened grade 8, so there is a ton of stress and vibration there. Also 1 shook itself loose. I ended up adding permatex copper gasket in there, went with a grade 5 bolt to be a little more pliable, and locked the bolt into place.

2019 Ram 1500 Limited with 28,000 miles. Bought it 2 years ago with 11,000 miles. Had the drive shaft replaced because when the truck would height adjust at rest, it would 'clunk' sometimes. Brought it in and they said it was not sliding smooth depending on position. New one has been fine. My dash is now bubbling on either side of the center speaker, and lifting just behind the center stack. I need to bring it in and hopefully they'll replace it. Also going to mention the A/C is not great and after reading this thread, I see there's a TSB.

Bought mine Aug 2019, 35k miles, no issues, oil & filter changes, air and cabin filter is all I've done. AC takes a little long to cool down on real hot days, but otherwise no complaints. I've been happy with it and I'd buy another Ram.

2019 Limited with the 5.7, no issues except cracked mainfolds that were fixed under warranty. I love the truck. Trading in on a 2022 though, due to the insane price given on trade ins. I am making money on it. Otherwise I would keep the 2019.

Isn't the insane prices of the new ones just offsetting any gains you're making on the trade-in?

I've thought of doing the same thing, but dealers aren't budging off MSRP, and MSRP is alot higher than it was in 2019.

2019 laramie 4x4 granite crystal. Sold the oem tires right away bought some amazing cooper's (at4s) 3peak for mn winters, otherwise at 25k miles truck has been perfect.

My 19 was lemon lawed over vibration issues, wouldn’t hold balance over 250 miles , 7-8 trips to the dealer in 9 months and only 7800 miles , many new parts, all new front end axles, rack and pinion, new drive shaft, new rims and tires with absolutely no fix! The dealer told me there was no more they could do.A Ram specialist was sent out and agreed my truck was out of spec for vibrations. Thats when I said, you will be hearing from my lawyer! A week later, ram bought it back! I love the new rams just not all the unresolved issues I went and looked at all the new trucks and decided I wanted to build a new 2021 ram. I’ve owned the 21 ram for almost a year with 8000 miles, the brakes make noise, the tires are wearing funny again and I think I feel a slight vibration. Truck has only been to dealer for a oil change and tire rotation I get it, a new year vehicle having issues, however with several trips to the dealer with no way to fix a $62,000 truck worst part is I see 2021 ram owners with the same issues today with the first 19 builds. Vibrations, water leaks, etc etc. As long as the ram is not having one of its many issues, I love the new rams!

Funny. My 2011 F150 did the same thing. Ford bought it back and I had to sign an NDA to not disclose the particulars of the buy back. I still have guys emailing me about my posts on the F150 forums. They never figured it out. Harmonics and some stuff like that.

I’m glad it’s gone.

Same issue. 2019 1509 DT (5th Gen) 5.7 Etourqe. Ordered new in 2918 direct from the factory floor. I noticed, as well as many others through my ownership , the loud exhaust engine noise for a awhile (within warranty). Being new to RAM, it was louder than my previous GMs…so mistakenly I passed it off as a Hemi -ism. Finally, after numerous routine dealership services and other minor recalls I finally specifically asked them to look at the manifold and exhaust noise….(now out of warranty of course) and the bolts AND exhaust manifold were cracked on one side…ordered parts and while it was on the rack, before I took it back, after the service department hinted that their parts ordering department was surprised by the lowered cost of these manifolds, that they were back ordered, and that this part was starting to give signals in their system that it looked looked like a major systemic problem for these engines, they mentioned they wouldn’t be surprised if this turned into a recall…so I thought to actually ask if they would look at the other manifold too then….they did. It was also cracked. More parts in order.

However, like with any new generation you would have to expect there to be glitches worked out. I bought a extended warranty with this in mind and glad I did. Having a great dealership to work with that looks after me has made it nothing more than a bit of an inconvenience. They have always made a vehicle available to me when my truck was in so in that case I wasn’t put out for transportation. I think I’m through the major part of issues. Being a Limited, I absolutely love this truck for all of its amenities. A lot of smiles have been had and expect many more to come! It’s the nicest vehicle I’ve ever owned for sure!
