Hellwig? Hell, yeah!

I may get a hell wig but im unsure ... In also thinking of adding a inch to the rear

So after review idk which togetthe dobison 2 inch rear spring or the clayton and if i do get any of those would i need to get the longer hellwig bar ? With the core 4x4 ?
Get the hellwig bar and the adjustable links. The links will work with the stock setup and upto 2 or 2.5" lift

Process is the same as OEM manufacturing process. They are all “crushed” on a press. Just a different location. I highly doubt they are heat treating or normalizing these parts. Even so the bar itself is made to flex. Been welding fabricating for 20+ years, i know a bit about metallurgy. This isn’t rocket science. And the stock bar already had signs of corrosion On a year old truck.Part of life here in the Midwest. No avaoiding that.
Could i have done a better job? Sure, but i was just testing a theory. And if it turns out to be **** over time.. like ferraiolo1 said. “Just replace it” But i have no issue trusting my precious cargo on this bar. In the mean time, I’m gonna go spend my 300 bucks on an Amp. lol. No disrespect bud, just my opinion. 👍

I dig the ingenuity.

I bought some rear links for my wrangler years ago that were too long, I ended up cutting and welding them, which by all accounts "isn't a good idea". They lasted 2-3 seasons of wheeling, and they are in the rear so they didn't get disconnected and saw a ton of stress. Never broke, I just replaced them once the rubber joints wore out.

Would bed length be a factor when deciding what hole to set the Hellwig at ? I have a 6'4" bed and was thinking about setting it at the stiffest hole.

See sig. I, too, have the 6'4" bed: I used the middle. Try it in both (middle and stiffest) and see which you like best. It takes about 5 minutes to swap them.

And let us know...

Thanks c3k...

For sure.. loading up the dirt bikes this weekend.. they always make the truck feel “mushy” in the turns.. ill know right away if this is helps with a load in the bed. I’ll keep an eye on it all and post results.
Notice any difference?

Was wondering, does anyone run the Hellwig with the "lowest" setting? Like, the one closest to factory?

I have the hellwig 7883 with the upgraded end links and all they seem to do is squeak. The bushings on them don't stay quiet for long. Thankfully I got that kit for cheap and I kept my stock end links.

Pretty sure the 7709 is the one you need...

Yeah I wasn’t happy with the end links either, mine came all rusty too.

7883 is the same thing as 7709 with upgraded adjustable end links..
Gotcha, yeah I'm not planning on lifting, at least not any time soon. This is one of the types of things I didn't want to have to deal with (needing adjustable links for my sway bar).

Holy snikies... installed the Hellwig today using the middle setting and was totally impressed. I’ve driven over 30k on my 2019 and forgot how bad the sway really was! Probably will try the tighter setting at some point soon just to experience the difference.
Looking forward to the next 30k

Should be able to give two "likes" for the Tommy Boy homage. 🤓

I had the exact same reaction! Great investment. I'm also gonna try the firmest setting just to see...maybe at my next oil change.
