Has anyone shattered their back glass just by closing a door?

Washed my truck 2 weeks ago on a Saturday and got in Sunday going to breakfast and heard and later saw where the back glass had shattered from what appeared to be air being forced out. I have never seen or experienced this before. RAM is covering under warranty but no time line when the window will actually be here as it has been 2 weeks now.

Wow. They have some up in Dallas. When they backed mine off hauler smashing back window they had it next day from dealer up there. Crazy.

Wow. Crazy. There is a baffle in the rear of the cab behind the seats to prevent air being trapped. Wonder if yours is stuck perhaps?

The dealership where I bought my truck had the glass on the back door shatter over a weekend. They reviewed video of the lot and the glass just exploded outwards from the truck with nobody on the lot. Was something they never really figured out.

Glass shattering in vehicles normally is from a flaw in the glass. Just a in nick along the edge is all it would take. Just like the tool that police have to break glass is tiny.

It’s a rectangular opening with a flap between the cab and the bed, below the glass. All trucks have one or two, to let pressure escape when you shut the doors.

I have been waiting two months now for a replacement back glass and got a call today that there was no definite delivery date from my case specialist. I emailed my GM at the dealer today and let him know that this was unacceptable and we should discuss buy back or lemon clause or I was going to become unhinged which means lots of free advertising for them. They own 3 Chrysler dealerships within 45 minutes of my house. I am not above calling the local news and giving them some free press.

Call Allen Samuels Dodge in Waco Tx at 254-772-1000 ask for Hossani. They found some out of DALLAS when they broke one on a 3500. Or have them take one out of one on the lot and have them wait for replacement. They were going to do that here until they found a few in Dallas area.
