Gman let us know what you find out.
We'll see if I can get to it. Can't do it until the weekend...and it's supposed to snow. Might not get to it before I have to take my truck back to the dealership on 3/4.

Experiencing the clink when turning left, especially when dropping off of sidewalks at lower speeds while turning. 5k miles in mind. Waiting for dealer to repair/install all other “known issues” before approaching them with the clunk. That being said, I have a feeling this will be the fluid filled chassis mount that causes the clunking sound by bottoming out. When any of you get a chance, take a look at those forward mounts somewhere under driver/passenger footwell.

For those of you where the sway bar end links were the definitive cause of the problem, was it worse when it was colder and wet?

Whenever it's cold, snowy, and slushy, my truck gets a lot worse.
Yes it is depend on cold or hot and if it wet will more quite than dry

Quit driving on the sidewalks!

I have my apt for the TSB on March 18th, just got the news the parts are in. We'll see how it goes
Geez man, my precious post full of typos lol! (thanks auto correct)

What parts are those? Control arms? Thanks!

Getting a clunk in my truck. Build date of January or February of this year. It seemed to do it when it's colder out. First it was just like one time only during the night after running to the store.
Then that next morning where it was only 30deg outside, it clunked down the road for a bit.

Didn't do it the rest of the day.

Yeah, it comes and goes.

Are those systems sounding like just needing torqued, or replaced? Just curious

I have about 1100 miles on it, doesn't sound like something that will "work its way out" but my dealer is 1.5 hours away, so not sure if I should just go to dealer here in town.

Mine has been back at the dealer since Monday morning. They still seemed baffled on Tuesday. It's not anything that will "work its way out". When it's not making a racket, my guess is it's out of position and bound up. By the nature of the sound, having the clunk has to be wearing on parts in ways that they shouldn't.

I got my truck back last night. No progress other than that they agreed to replace the sway bar bushings and end links. Of course those parts are all on backorder until May.

So I watched the video on this thread and it didn't seem like the same thing. This is more or less like a bad shock or something similar where you get the creak/rattle/. like a rusty part for example. It's hard to explain. I may try to capture it on video, but it's hard to hear and reproduce. It seems to happen on ****ty roads at lower speeds and making a turn about the same time, but sometimes no turning.

I don't have a "clunk" like in the video. It's different, but noticeable when volume is low. Not sure if it's actually the same issue.

What do you guys think?

I had a clunk and sometimes felt a bump in the floorboard under my foot when turning. My dealer Mechanic took it out and replicated the same bump.. They ordered new body bushing mount. Replaced it and discovered that the one on the truck still had the Teflon shipping washers on the rubber bushings. They went ahead and replaced it but they said the protective washers was causing the bushing to slip.

Started to notice the clunk around 4k miles. It was definitely louder and more frequent when i was towing, only 2k lbs, so not sure if the weight made it more pronounced. Took to dealer yesterday and got the "could not replicate". Asked for a ride along and sure enough got it to do it with the tech inside, he was like "oh there it is i felt that in the floor". I gave them the tsb # and mentioned the sway bars. Before the ride along they said they checked all the mounts and nothing was loose, but who knows if they really checked them or not. Maybe now that they heard it they will check harder. This dealer sells a lot of inventory and has great reviews, but this seemed new to them, which worries me a little. Really hoping FCA figures this crap out. My first Ram and want to love it, i came from a silverado and switched bc of similar clunks and noises on the chevys

Was your sway bar end links in stock, pretty quick visits or something they needed to keep your truck for a decent amount of period before fixing.

I travel a lot and the whole purpose of buying an expensive truck is to make my travels less stressful and more comfortable. I don't want to be put in a crappy loaner for 2 weeks or hear a clunk for 1 month while I'm waiting for a $30 part.

Truck currently sits in the service department overnight and I'm in a loaner. Service advisor is telling me they believe the clunk is coming from the rack and pinion but are not certain yet. He said they have had a difficult time pinpointing the issue and the rain here today is making it more difficult to diagnose during a test drive. He already gave me the "it may be part of the design" bit which I ain't buying. Should not be doing what it's doing and i'm sure not all trucks are doing this. I'm hoping anyone else having the issue will chime in and we can share any solutions that come up. I am hoping they are able to spend more time with it tomorrow. Also, any advice escalating issues with FCA would be helpful since that's where I'll be going if the dealer can't come up with any solutions.
Had my stear gear replace with same clunk and still a clunk! Fixed nothing!

Hey there. Wondering what the outcome is. My truck with 1500 miles is making the noise. It was on one side but within a day I can swerve side to side and hear it on both sides and hear it. I had a neighbor drive it and I can hear the clunk from half a block away.

Thanks.

Yeah I've heard the about the sway bars and mine was a driver's side body bushing mount. They replaced it and I haven't had the sound anymore.
