Fingers Crossed...Brake Squeal Resolved

To add......IF your truck has any non-OEM equipment (wheels, tires, lift, leveling kit, etc.) FCA is now telling you that it's your problem to seal with. Head FCA technician is now telling me they are unwilling to do any more for me because of my oversized tires. Funny thing, they are selling 2020 trucks with lifts and wheels on the lot.

Legal action forthcoming. F*** them!!
Sorry to hear. Try a different dealer perhaps?

Yeah.....I've been escalated to the regional technician. Apparently he is the say all, end all. But you can't speak with them, or anyone above customer service. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. Going to throw down for cross drilled rotors and ceramics....then put her up for sale and get a FORD. Hopefully that ends the issue.

Follow up. 12/7/2019. Been a couple of months now since I had both front and rear pads replaced, along with rear rotors. No squealing from the brakes at this point. It seems the brake pads were the issue. Anyone having squeals when braking, try replacing your brake pads. It worked for me. Luckily the dealer did all the work under the 2 star bulletins. Very Happy now. Thanks to all of you reporting the bulletins to give to the service manager.

I had the front done about 2000 miles ago and all has been silent. The back started morning and I tolerated it for a while. I then figured I shouldn’t have to on a $50,000 plus truck. I called the dealer about three weeks ago, told them about the Star case for the rear brake moan. They said let us check to see if we have the parts. I was told yes and to bring in the next Monday. Left it all day, they called later that day and told me they had to order parts and that it would take 5-7 days to arrive. Weird, since I was previously told they had what they needed. After 14 days and no call, I called to see if parts were in. Said they were and I’m scheduled to go in on Monday. Looks like the moan kit and new pads for the rear. Hope it is fixed even though it’s been a slight run around. Love the truck otherwise. I have a company vehicle, so it is my secondary vehicle so I don’t put a ton of miles on it, about 5500 in 8 months. Plan to keep it until it dies, hopefully years and years???

I just purchased a 2019 Ram Rebel V6 Quad cab 4wd and when I park it for a bit and then go to back out of driveway the front brakes howl until I drive it a min down the road. Also when I left my foot off the gas pedal it feels like the front brakes are dragging and when I turn corners it feels sluggish and bogged down. I'm looking to see if anyone has a TSB number I can refer to when I take to the dealer?

I am also having brake noises to on my 2019 ram happens a lot in the morning when the vehicle has been sitting or if the roads are wet. It only happens when I reverse or go in drive. Sounds like the brakes are squealing but then driving away The noise goes away and no longer comes back.

I took it in they looked at my brakes they replaced the front pads and rotor saying that’s where the noise is coming from the tears were fine

Front and rear pads and rotors are brand new still i’m not sure what’s causing this issue lots of pad left and rotors are smooth.

Is there any tsb bulletin I can provide to them that can take care of this issue or is everyone still having trouble all 2019 ram owners.

When I first got this vehicle I had no brake noise or anything so it’s very concerning.

Theres actually two different TSBs for the rear brakes.

TSB 05-001-19 REV.B - pads and adapters
TSB 05-002-19 - brackets
Anyone have a link to TSB 05-001-19 REV B? My truck was nice enough to wait until 16k miles to start acting up so any work relating to the brakes is not covered by warranty, I'm told. I'll be purchasing the parts and doing the work myself out of spite, and from what I understand REV B is less expnsive.

it's actually 05-002-19 that's the revision to 05-001-19 rev A. There are 3 TSB's for this issue each one supersedes the previous and the dealer is only obligated to perform the latest revision if the issue is still under warranty.

05-001-19
05-001-19 Rev A
05-002-19

All TSBs attached good luck as Ram only warranties brakes for 12k miles. The kit from 05-002-19 is easy to install and probably relatively cheap if they will not warranty it.

05-001-19 Rev B replaces Rev A - pads, adapters and pins

05-002-19 - anti moan bracket which is separate from the other TSB

It looks like the bracket kit didn't work and they updated 05-001-19 TSB to revision B. This would be their 4th TSB attempt to try and remedy this problem. I'm going to get this over to the OP that maintains the TSB thread. They don't have this most recent one on file. I'm not sure if anyone is still maintaining it.

Both the TSBs I posted are still in effect. I’m having both done in the next few days.

Thank you I will give all that info to the dealer
