CHMSL / Third Brake Light LEDs

Where abouts are you located, if you dont mind me asking? I'm in Western NY , so like firecadet613 I only see a few 90 degree days per year

Hey now! We've had record breaking heat the past month or so. I'm getting all sorts of stuff done inside the house and waiting til this evening to venture back out.

I stand corrected lol. We're supposed to get a 90 degree day on Monday. I think we only had like 2 all of last year (I'm close to Lake Ontario also so that keeps me a few degrees cooler in the summer)

I dont think you are being a wimp...I've seen the complaint a couple times now. I know FCA does environmental testing, so I can't beleive they missed the design that badly (90's isn't all that uncommon in the southern US obviously)..but its weird that they wouldn't be charging the AC systems on multiple vehicles correctly. Confusing.

Ford has had some pretty lackluster ACs in the F150s....and dealers always said it was "operating as designed." I made them pull a truck off the lot to compare and it had the same vent temps.

Here are the LEDs in the CHMSL. I did not grab a before pic, as I just changed out the brake bulb today - cargo bulbs I did a week ago.

Cargo bulbs haven't caused a CANBUS error and I turned the truck around after I put the brake bulb in with no issues (I've used that same bulb as a reverse light bulb in a 2014 F150 with no errors). I report back if one does pop up.

Does it appear brighter to you? (Hard for my old eyes to tell in the pics lol)

Honestly about the same for the brake light. In both pics the cargo lights are LED and they are brighter than the factory halogen.

Does it look like the fixed the leaking problem or did you put some extra foam tape on it.

What ever happened to the AC recharge? did this fix the problem, I had to have my 2016 Ram sport recharged the second year of ownership, Im worried this may need to be looked at, Way to many people having the same issue.

Hey FC.

How are the lights holding up? Any leaks or CANBUS codes yet, or still good?

Thanks,

I just installed my led cargo lights and they look great. Can anyone tell me if I installed the lamp back in correctly. It seemed like I did but wanted to make sure. I noticed it didn’t sit completely flush at the top but that might be the design. It would only go in one way.

Sorry but I’m not sure what I’m looking at.
Im just making sure I put the light back in correctly. There only seemed like there was one way to put it back in. Wanted to see if everyone elses looks like it.
