BIGHORN gets Bilstein 5100’s

I’m thinking about going with setting 3 or 4 to maintain somewhat of a rake, but I haven’t even ordered mine yet

Bilstein all the way !!!!!!!!!! Yeah that was 10 exclamation points , you will not lose any ride quality at all , unless you just like throwing money away then go with the Mopar lift , just put my 5100’s on a few weeks ago and they are bad *** , listen to the hype , it’s true
Did you replace the UCA’s also?

$40K +/- all said and done. The dealership I had to go through was stingy as **** coming down off the MSRP. They had the only 2 within 250 miles. Sticker was like $53K and I got $10.5K in rebates (Great Lakes region + military)

You all saw my window sticker. I brought them down to $48k after negotiating, it had some rebates and after TT&L and some warranties, it went back up to $57K out the door. However, I had a 2015 Ford F150 before. Some mods. Completely paid off. Low miles. Perfect condition. My brother had been wanting to buy it from me. Dealership wanted to give me $24k for it. My brother offered me $25k. So I gave that check to thr dealership and I only financed $27K. 3%apr.

Nice. Sounds like you got a good deal in the end. How’s your MPG? I’m hovering at 14 in the city with 3.21s but I only have 1K miles on it

Finally got my Bilsteins put on yesterday and they actually gave me 2.5 inches of lift on setting #6 , I started out with 10-1/2” inches from bottom of fender to top of 20 wheel, now measuring 13 to the top of the wheel, I guess because the truck has only 2500 miles on it, no lift on rear yet as Amazon is slow these days , but truck rides a little stiffer but very good ! No complaints
Sorry, just to be clear. All you did was add Bilstein 5100's to achieve the lift? Did you already have something before adding the shocks? Is there a spacer? Still using the stock springs? I know you mentioned in other posts you added UCA but that they are not necessary.

I'm at 12.5-13 on average, in the city. With 3.92 gears. I have about 2k miles on it so far.

Just Bilsteins nothing else, stock springs also

what is the height of the truck now?
Measuring what part ? Front measures 12-1/2” from bottom of the fender to the top of the wheel, I always refer to this measurement because it is alot easier to get this measurement compared to the middle of the wheel

Thanks for your opinion on my bad advice... but I’m passing along actual information from Bilsteins engineering team from asking this question. Their website says the 5100 accommodates 1” of lift, but doesn’t specify if that’s from a stock non-ORP, or ORP, so I wrote to have them clarify. So this isn’t me screwing around, and you can see the email below for better clarity.

The 5100 will accommodate 1” extra lift along with ORP springs.

That means a non-ORP could accommodate 2” of lift with a 5100, since they designed it for 1” lift in addition to a stock ORP.

From that info, we can safely assume the 1.5” lift (from a non-ORP) with Icon rear spring is also sufficient.

I know this post is old, but I was confirming with Bilstein and a Major Canadian Bilstein supplier about the 5100s because I wanted to save $240, the cost difference of the 5100 to the 5160 rears. I don’t need the extra reservoir, that’s for off-road where you need heat displacing action. Anyhow I guess it all depends on you talk to because I got too different answers. Check out the 2 emails I attached from 2 different Bilstein Sources. Read what the Galileo person partially says about the ORP springs and measurements. This person knew what I was getting at and still really wouldn’t confirm it.

Also right now I am in the debate between ReadyLift 3.5 SST with Bilstein 5100 front and 5100 or 5160 Rears. I’m sure the 5100 would probably be fine considering ReadyLift doesn’t even suggest replacing the factory shock. I’m also in a debate with getting the Mopar 2” lift adding the ORP springs and then down the road I may or may not change to the RL (or RC) UCA, more then likely the RL one. Or maybe I order the Mopar and RL UCA now and then sell the Mopar one that comes with he kit, would people buy it?

Anyhow check out the emails.

Also, has anyone compared how level the ReadyLift 3.5 is compared to the Mopar 2” with ORP springs? I am in a debate, but I will know what I want if I know which one provides the better actual level. I don’t want any rake. Although I will probably be able to get the Mopar and ORP springs cheaper then the ReadyLift and Bilsteins. I can even add the ReadyLift UCA cheaper then what the ReadyLift/5100/5160 setup would cost.

Anyhow it’s not about money.... It’s about what gives the actual level look with no rake and the highest lift?

With measuring this way, my truck, stock, is at 11 inches front and 12.5 inches rear. I would like to run 35 x 12.5 on my 20 inch stock rims

You need an 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" to get clearance to do so,as long as the tire is not a true 35" tall tire , mine measure 34.1

I have a 21 Laramie 1500 non ORP 4wd.

I believe I am going with Bilstein 5100's up front and Icon 1.5 springs in the back. Anyone running this? or think its a problem?

I should sit like a leveled ORP at the end.
