Well Santa was good to me also. Got the Blackvue DR900X 2CH Plus. Just finished the installation. First, I need to thank @securityguy for all of the help. Took my calls, FaceTime'd, etc. Can not say enough about his help. Thank you.

The installation is like what you have read here on the thread. A few notes: I have a panaramic moonroof and was concerned about how to run the cables to back camera, so I ultimately took across the passenger A Pillar and down and then across the door panels. Then back up across the pillar behind the passenger back seat. The cable was the perfect length and only took about 20 min to do. I have attached pictures from my install. Also the fuse taps that @securityguy recommends has not only the fuse taps, but the 5a fuse for it and a fuse puller. All very helpful and needed.

Quality of the camera is very good and I like that I can download the files directly to my phone. Also nice that on playback you can switch from front to back views and they stay in sync. So far very happy. Only issue that I have is that the card gets reformatted every time I turn on the truck. I tried to reformat the card and reload the firmware, but issue still continues. I have read on sites that it may be due to the memory card. Will try a few things and then update this forum in case anyone else has the same issue.

Thank you again @securityguy

And for anyone curious about the Blackvue adhesive mount, it's been a year and the camera hasn't budged at all, even in the Florida heat.
Yep...the adhesive pads that come with the Blackvue are very strong and not affected by the heat. Great camera and excellent quality accessories.

Happy New Year Grim!

I think I might set-up an 800 number for technical/installation support on anything electronic...$0.99/minute with a 10 minute minimum :p

Happy New Year everyone and may 2022 be a great one for us all.

Thanks for the pics. I just ordered the DR750X-2CH Plus. Did you mount the rear camera directly on the glass? If so is it on the sliding window? Hard to tell from the pic.
If you mount it to the sliding window...you'll NEVER be able to open it:eek: You mount it to the stationary window opposite the way it slides.

I know, that was the point of my question. I just couldn't tell where it was mounted in the pic. Seems like I remember someone fashioning a bracket so it could be mounted in the center and not interfere with the sliding glass. I suppose it really doesn't make that much difference if it is offset a few inches.

You can buy a bracket from the website below or fabricate one yourself if you want the camera centered. Having it offset doesn't impact what you need or want to see so not really necessary IMPO:

I mounted on the glass on the passenger side. It is not on the sliding window. I put it there to hide the cable going from the camera up to roof. The window opens and closes without hitting the cable.

I've been running a dashcam in both my trucks for several years (been saved once by my dashcam). I had issues with most of them simply failing to work after a period of time (Cobra, Cowan to name a couple of brands) until I switched over to the Garmin dash cams, they have been working without issues for a few years in a Michigan climate. I do switch out the SD-Cards about once a year, never an issue with them.

I have a 2022 on order and want to add a front/rear dash cam set up to the 2022 as well as my 2015 RAM. So I'm looking at the BlackVue DR750X-2CH solution that I've read about in this thread. What I really want to know, has anyone been running a Blackview dashcam for three or more years in a diverse climate and how do they hold up over time?

I'm not afraid to invest in a quality dashcam solution, I just need to know what brands are a worthy investment. Thanks in advance.
