I was wondering if this may be the newest version but don’t know. It is built like a tank and I am happy so far but will be happier when I can get it installed.

UPDATE: so it is the "AB" version with a build date of February 1, 2019

Mine just came today. Clearly they changed the packaging. The box was heavy duty and had double wall inserts. The hardware was in a plastic bag wrapped in cardboard and then taped up. This thing came in a box like it should and zero signs of any damage at all. Was going to do the install today but quickly found out I don't have any sockets >19mm so a trip to Home Depot tomorrow and it will be installed after work!
I used a 13/16" to remove the existing bolt and a 7/8" to install the 3 new bolts that attach my bed-step. I have factory-installed trailer hitch and it has the two necessary mounting nuts attached with tack-welds, so I didn't need the two nuts included with the kit.

I used my bed step in a big way when I did my monthly trip to Costco yesterday. I had a full load of water and groceries and the step made it easy. Load onto the tail gate first and climb up to transfer to the front of the bed. This was done multiple times both at the store and when I got home. I am really going to appreciate this step as long as I have this truck. Two folks walking by saw this and commented favorably. One was driving a Chevy with the bumper step and said it was no where as nice to use.

Sorry, no pictures:D

Is there yet another new part number for this?

I'm now finding 82215289AE

For example:

But other Mopar part sites don't even have it listed yet.

Does the bed step rub or touch the plastic trim when close it back ?

And What is the difference between the existing bolt and one of the three 7/8" bolts!? Because i use the existing bolt with two of the 7/8" bolts PicsArt_04-02-12.09.07.jpg

So I got my Mopar bed Step..i.e., "Step Kit-Side - 82215289AB ", yesterday and mounted it. Took a couple of pictures of the mounting points. Just three bolts hold it on. Attached are the included mounting instructions and a couple of pictures.

In a nutshell:

1. Remove one existing bolt
2. Move the wire bundle (looks to be a groove in the back plate of the step to account for the wires, but I couldn't mount it without moving the wires to the side)
3. Mount the Step with the provided Three 7/8" head bolts (mounting points noted in first pic)

The top rear bolt is mounted in the frame rail, so you have to thread it blind holding the handle welded to the provided nut (see second pic). A bit of a pain, but not too bad.

Fitment is good and doesn't hit or touch anything that I can see.

I like it. I think I will order the Mopar Bed Grab handle to go with it. Wife wants something a little better to pull herself up with. She was a little spoiled with the pull out step and handle in our F150.

Edit: Added a few pics of the installed step

Actually I have no idea but if they gave you three NEW bolts to use...why did you not follow the directions??? Good thing I'm not having you build my kids bikes

The only difference I saw was that the original bolt was silver (new bolts are black) and the size of the head (original took a smaller socket).

IIRC, the length was same.

What we don’t know is if the metallurgy of the bolts are different and if the new bolts are designed with a higher stress capability to handle the load that is being placed on the bolt based on the steps install. I would swap it out to be safe. Easy to do and should have been used when it was installed. They give it to you for a good reason. The fact the head size is larger should be an indication too.

1. You NEVER stated that one of the new bolts was MISSING...now your post actually makes a ton more sense ;) Did you contact them to get a replacement???
2. Yes, I DID follow the directions and no it wasn't hard to install
3. I am a GREAT cook and your CAT would love my food:p
