Facing the same issues with android auto (same as CarPlay). Intermittently works and usually before starting the truck. Then will randomly fail. Any other fixes than replacing the media hub?

nope. They are defective and you will need a replacement, what part number you need is 68397098-AE that part replaces the defective one and will make your usb ports work every time and apple carplay and android auto

I’m sure most of you guys have done this, but on mine, in the settings, the screen mirroring box was unchecked, once I checked it, my CarPlay worked fine. Maybe that has gotten unchecked somehow?

the 8.4 non-nav uconnect does not have that option. so when your apple carplay or usb ports for that matter don't work, it is the hub itself. It happened to me.

This may be old but I was searching since I had this issue. My screen mirror was unchecked. Clicked that and now it works.

Related to Apple Car Play anyone have any issues when trying to use Google Maps with Apple Car play and the map not re-orienting to your current location but starting directions from your home location (no matter where you are)?? I haven't used it in a couple of weeks now, but mine was doing that and the only way to temporarily fix it was to reboot my phone then plug it back in, but every time I shut the truck off I had to do that to get it to work properly. Is it a possible software bug in Uconnect?

I've never seen that, and UConnect isn't in control when you're using CarPlay. It might be a location setting in your iPhone privacy settings, e.g. "allow when using..." instead of "always allow" your location. But I'm just guessing.

Do a search on this forum, this is a known issue. I have it as well. My compass doesn't show a direction when it happens. I'm guessing software update.

I am having problems with my 2019 RAM Laramie 1500 connecting to CarPlay. It connects some of the time, the USB will connect so that it charges but can not use CarPlay, and then it won't connect at all. The bluetooth works fine so the phone connects. I have had it in numerous times for software updates, I've swapped out 4 different usb cables and recently I went from an iPhone 8 to iPhone 12 Pro Max. It worked the first day and hasn't worked since. Ive checked all the phone settings, I've redone the vehicle and phone numerous times and nothing seems to work. Anyone have an idea, please help.

I’ve been dealing with the same issues. I went as far as even replacing the media hub 2 weeks ago with no change. I’ve tried 3 different phones and 3 cables (all apple cables). I have an appointment this weekend at the dealer. I will keep you posted

Just throwing this out there. I ordered two Amazon Basics USB-C cords for the front. Both of them worked fine with Carplay except that the songs would stutter when playing. If I played music off of my iphone through bluetooth, no stutters. I then bit the bullet and bought an ugly, white USB-C cable from Apple and it works perfectly.

If anyone else experiences the stutters it could be the cable.

Hi dferg, We certainly understand why this may be concerning. To clarify, have you brought your concerns to the attention of your dealer recently for repairs? Although we cannot guarantee any certain outcome, we do recommend scheduling a diagnostic appointment. If you would like any assistance, please let us know.

I am also having issues with Carplay. Anytime I use Google maps, Waze, Apple Maps the whole system will crash and shut down. It will do it no matter if I'm listening to Sirius/XM or using streaming on my phone. I have a Iphone 12 pro with the latest update on it from apple as of last week, and always use a factory apple cord. I work as a technician for Land Rover/Jaguar and while we have alot of issues as well with infotainment systems, at least they update every few weeks to every other month or so. We have software over the air capabilities as well so I guess I don't understand why there are not more improvements being made more often.

Does anyone know if there is really any difference in using the USB C port vs USB A port to connect to an iPhone for CarPlay?

Also been dealing with this same issue. Apple CarPlay seems to work when it wants to but usually does not and the USB ports in the media hub do not work. Had it to the dealership 2 different times and both times they said it worked just fine for them, what a coincidence. Regardless mine still doesn’t work. Any known recalls or is this still just something we have to “deal with”.
