nope. They are defective and you will need a replacement, what part number you need is 68397098-AE that part replaces the defective one and will make your usb ports work every time and apple carplay and android autoFacing the same issues with android auto (same as CarPlay). Intermittently works and usually before starting the truck. Then will randomly fail. Any other fixes than replacing the media hub?

the 8.4 non-nav uconnect does not have that option. so when your apple carplay or usb ports for that matter don't work, it is the hub itself. It happened to me.I’m sure most of you guys have done this, but on mine, in the settings, the screen mirroring box was unchecked, once I checked it, my CarPlay worked fine. Maybe that has gotten unchecked somehow?

I've never seen that, and UConnect isn't in control when you're using CarPlay. It might be a location setting in your iPhone privacy settings, e.g. "allow when using..." instead of "always allow" your location. But I'm just guessing.Related to Apple Car Play anyone have any issues when trying to use Google Maps with Apple Car play and the map not re-orienting to your current location but starting directions from your home location (no matter where you are)?? I haven't used it in a couple of weeks now, but mine was doing that and the only way to temporarily fix it was to reboot my phone then plug it back in, but every time I shut the truck off I had to do that to get it to work properly. Is it a possible software bug in Uconnect?
Do a search on this forum, this is a known issue. I have it as well. My compass doesn't show a direction when it happens. Hi dferg, We certainly understand why this may be concerning. To clarify, have you brought your concerns to the attention of your dealer recently for repairs? Although we cannot guarantee any certain outcome, we do recommend scheduling a diagnostic appointment. If you would like any assistance, please let us know.I am having problems with my 2019 RAM Laramie 1500 connecting to CarPlay. It connects some of the time, the USB will connect so that it charges but can not use CarPlay, and then it won't connect at all. The bluetooth works fine so the phone connects. I have had it in numerous times for software updates, I've swapped out 4 different usb cables and recently I went from an iPhone 8 to iPhone 12 Pro Max. It worked the first day and hasn't worked since. Ive checked all the phone settings, I've redone the vehicle and phone numerous times and nothing seems to work. Anyone have an idea, please help.
Hi GilS, we are glad to hear that you are working with your dealer on this. Please feel free to keep us updated regarding your situation. If we can be of any additional support while your vehicle is in service, we are just a PM away.I’ve been dealing with the same issues. I went as far as even replacing the media hub 2 weeks ago with no change. I’ve tried 3 different phones and 3 cables (all apple cables). I have an appointment this weekend at the dealer. I will keep you posted
I connected mine with USB-C today, but too early to tell if its any quicker than using my USB-ADoes anyone know if there is really any difference in using the USB C port vs USB A port to connect to an iPhone for CarPlay?
Keep pushing and get @RamCares involved to create a case for you. Also been dealing with this same issue. Apple CarPlay seems to work when it wants to but usually does not and the USB ports in the media hub do not work. Had it to the dealership 2 different times and both times they said it worked just fine for them, what a coincidence. Regardless mine still doesn’t work. Any known recalls or is this still just something we have to “deal with”.
