I’m wondering what everyone has found as far as water leaks? Unfortunately my truck seems to have it all. My truck has been out of service for somewhere around 100 days with no fix as of now. It started in June when I bought the truck. Within a couple weeks of purchasing it, I realized the floor was soaked after a good rain storm. Long story short, the truck has been in the shop 8 or so times. 60 days in one visit. I’ve tried to work with ram customer care which didn’t help. They sent me to the “FCA resolution center” which did absolutely nothing besides waste 3 months of my time. Then I filed for arbitration ( and I was decline any assistance). They’ve replaced the pano roof water drains several times as well as the entire back window. They found leaks
in the body seams and the door seals. After each time the truck is repaired, another leak apears. I have completely run out of patience and I am furious. After paying all this money for a vehicle, I’ve been left for dead by the manufacturer and left with a truck that can’t be repaired. I’m going to lose my *** if I trade this truck in.

So just putting this out there, I dont have a sunroof in my rebel and I noticed my floor was soaked so I dried it out really well and then proceeded to rip apart the whole interior. Closed all of my windows sat in the truck and had my girlfriend spray the hell out of my truck with the hose, I had her start at the firewall and work her way up up the windshield all the way to the roof. I had her spray around all the edges of the windshield around my drivers door, drivers window and the bottom of the door spraying on an upward angle. I can not find a leak anywhere. I am starting to wonder if the A/C system is clogged or has a leak. So I took the testing one step further I left out the interior and waited for a heavy rain and then started to drive. I still couldnt find a leak anywhere. I have not had any water since I dried the driverside floor out. I did however notice the floor gets extremely hot ? I will continue my testing and drive the truck on a really hot day once we get one in the near future and run the A/C on full blast to see if that is where the water is coming from. My truck only has 5000 miles on it and again i do not have a sunroof.

I was unable to upload some of the videos that I have from all of this. The link below is what I found today. The last time my truck was in they replaced all of the weather seals in the doors. I sprayed my truck down for approximately 20 minutes and saw the puddle after lifting the driver side carpet up. I dried it and then tried again to see if I could identify the path from which it was coming from. I realized there was no path but there was still a puddle. I pulled the weather seal up and this is what I found. Water leaking from between the pinch weld in the door threshold. Yet another leak this truck has.

Have you contacted @RamCares on this site so they can document and escalate the issue. I know you have been to the dealer several times with no luck but this sounds like an issue that might have to result in a buyback if it can’t be resolved quickly. They will be able to document and escalate and hopefully assist in a faster resolution, whatever that is. Maybe they can get an FCA engineer involved?

That is exactly what I’m talking about. I’ve dealt with ram customer care via the phone and they escalated it to their resolution center which was supposed to be where they decided if it was a buyback or not and after four months of me getting pushed around I decided to go with an arbitration hearing through the NCDS. Dodge really hasn’t done much as far as trying to fix the situation other than telling me to go back to the dealership and have them look at it. that is exactly what I’m talking about. My truck has been stripped apart completely on the inside so many times that every single plastic trim piece has broken tabs on it that the dealership never bothered to replace but rather just reinstall and hope I never noticed. They’ve scratched the leather on the dash god knows how, and a lot of the plastic trim also has gouges in it from what looks like a screwdriver during disassembly.

Well they should replace anything they broke or gouged. You definitely need to get FCA involved if you haven’t already and I don’t think I’d be going to that dealer anymore. Sounds like they have made a bad situation far worse. They have failed to find/fix the problem and have marked up your vehicle in the process

Sounds like that might be your best choice at this point. If you’ve tried ramcares and FCA and they haven’t helped what else can you do. If I were them I would have sent you to a different dealership, they could have called ahead and made sure they were aware of the issues and importance and tried to assist in a quick resolution. But it seems like there was a breakdown in that process.

Can @RamCares do anything more that ram customer care can? It was sent to a second dealer at some point. They found a leak that had already been repaired but was still leaking. It seems like had one thing gets fixed, something else begins

I’m not sure exactly what @RamCares can do other than document it and try to have it escalated. As mind blowingly aggravating and angering as these things are, these are huge companies with million of vehicles. They have very specific procedures in place that have to be followed. So even though on this forum we see all these issues, there are literally millions of others that may or may not be having issues. Ram has to document and follow a protocol of repair/recall/replace that makes sense (to them). All that said, by continue to document your issues with them, escalating, following the chain of command, it really is your best shot at getting it fixed, while at the same time helping others who might have your issue. It will also help you if you ever have to unfortunately obtain an attorney since you will have shown that you tried every other avenue to resolve this issue in good faith and will have the documentation to back it up.

That totally sucks. I would not have the patience you had with over 100 days of no truck that you are paying for, loaner or not. This is definitely a lemon law case or parking the truck near the selling dealer with the big lemon placards all over it. That and a barrage of emails to the FCA HQ's, their board of directors etc... If the spammers can figure out how to do it, maybe you can.

Hi Jgoodyr,

We're sorry to hear you're continuing to experience this leak. I understand your desire to reach a solution for this situation. It sounds like you already have a case with the team we normally escalate to. I don't want to set the wrong expectation as this has already been reviewed, but if you have any questions about the resolution, feel free to send me your case number via direct message. Again, I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.

The other thing I would try, if you haven't already done so, is the media. Many TV stations have a consumer advocate type segment, and possibly they would be willing to air your case so that it gets a lot of exposure. Look into it, some major market TV station(s) within say 100 miles of you.

Thanks for the warning. As we’ve had about 3+” of rain since Friday, I went out and checked the wife’s Ltd. Fortunately its dry as a bone on the floors, and no fogging or hints of moisture on the inside glass. I used the opportunity to look at it again and go, “ahh, just right”. :)

Mine is the seal not closing and sealing issue.

They don’t care. I took to a second dealer after my original dealer botched a replacement and admitted they didn’t know what they are doing.
Second dealer said “nope, we don’t want to clean up someone else’s mess”.

It’s not my dally the dealer tech was incompetent. Now I can’t get another dealer to actually fix it?

Come on FCA tell me how much you want to help.

I’m documenting everything now. I’m at over 450 miles of travel to the dealership. So when a class action comes out, I want the mileage reimbursement plus time off pay for having to travel back and forth.

Oh yeah. This is an April purchase. Brand new truck for $67,000.

This fits the definition of the lemon law. You have rights. Look up the specific requirements for your state and file. FCA can’t hide from this one.

I bought my new RAM June 3rd and noticed wet carpet the rear back floor on the 5th. I took it in for the dealer to take a look at it and after they attempted to dry things out and make an appointment for the "Leak Doctor", I took it home resigned to wait... I got bored and went out to take a look as I remember one of the Dealer Crew mentioning drain tubes between the cab and bed being an issue. So that is where I went to look. Low and behold I found the Driver Side Grommet where the drain tube runs through half way sealed with the top half being properly seated and the bottom half in a state of ????? The Passenger side Grommet was not even seated and was simply hanging out and attached to the drain tube...… I was able to get it reseated and took the truck back in the next morning (8 June) to have them verify that they were in fact seated. I am now waiting on the rear carpet to dry..... Lord Willing this is the ONLY issue that I have. My earlier RAM (2013 Ram 1500 Big Horn) had 225K+ miles on it, was running strong, and had zero issues... I hate to think that I jumped into the Fire so to speak simply because I wanted a new truck!!!!

I’ll be praying for you. Unfortunately I have had my grommets replaced several times because even when seated properly, they leak from around the seal. Somehow they’ve managed to leak even when sealant was applied.
