Amazing they can’t get something some simple fixed in the factory. Makes me wonder what else is engineered so poorly on our trucks.
I bought my new RAM June 3rd and noticed wet carpet the rear back floor on the 5th. I took it in for the dealer to take a look at it and after they attempted to dry things out and make an appointment for the "Leak Doctor", I took it home resigned to wait... I got bored and went out to take a look as I remember one of the Dealer Crew mentioning drain tubes between the cab and bed being an issue. So that is where I went to look. Low and behold I found the Driver Side Grommet where the drain tube runs through half way sealed with the top half being properly seated and the bottom half in a state of ????? The Passenger side Grommet was not even seated and was simply hanging out and attached to the drain tube...… I was able to get it reseated and took the truck back in the next morning (8 June) to have them verify that they were in fact seated. I am now waiting on the rear carpet to dry..... Lord Willing this is the ONLY issue that I have. My earlier RAM (2013 Ram 1500 Big Horn) had 225K+ miles on it, was running strong, and had zero issues... I hate to think that I jumped into the Fire so to speak simply because I wanted a new truck!!!!
UPDATE - The floor seems to have finally dried up. The floor got much wetter than I originally thought due to the monsoon we have been living in for the past 2 weeks but I will give the dealer credit in that they worked VERY HARD at getting it out. I ultimately pulled the entire in floor storage bin (Passenger Side) out and actually found water inside the outer box (Approx 1/4 cup of water). I also took a towel and ran it under the carpet and padding and floor pans in an attempt to get as much moisture pulled out as possible. I have had 3 days of zero rain, lots of sun, and open/vented windows. I feel safe in putting my floor mats back down. The Rain is due back in the area this evening and starting the evening rain cycle here soon. I will follow up with the results...
So a little update on my trucks situation I found the leak yesterday after sitting in the truck for 25 mins while it rained. I am getting a leak at the pinch weld where the rubber door seal sit on the driver side door. So me loving the almighty RTV I dried the area thoroughly and starting painting on the RTV making sure I filled any and all gaps. Smoothing it out with my finger so the seal would still slide on in its proper place. So it rained it’s but off today and I decided to sit in my truck while it rained, wouldn’t you know it’s not leaking anymore. I was couldn’t believe it, so I decided to sit in the truck for another 20 mins or so while it was lightning and pouring as well as listening to my GF tell it’s 2am get to bed. But I will keep you guys posted to see if this was the end all fix all finally. I sure hope so. I know some may thing oh that an awfully pricey truck to be using silicone on the pinch welds so you can stop a can leak. I think of it this way I didn’t have to drop my truck off to the dealership for them to have my truck for far to long and tell me either it’s fixed but it’s really not or sorry sir we couldn’t duplicate the problem. I love my truck I don’t want another truck so if I have to silicone every pinch weld on the truck to keep the cab dry so be it. I’ll be happier with that truck silicone cup over a 73000 dollar raptor that had a 6cylinder in it.

I just bought a new 2019 Rebel & water is leaking through the overheated console. The truck does NOT even have a sun roof! See video:I’m wondering what everyone has found as far as water leaks? Unfortunately my truck seems to have it all. My truck has been out of service for somewhere around 100 days with no fix as of now. It started in June when I bought the truck. Within a couple weeks of purchasing it, I realized the floor was soaked after a good rain storm. Long story short, the truck has been in the shop 8 or so times. 60 days in one visit. I’ve tried to work with ram customer care which didn’t help. They sent me to the “FCA resolution center” which did absolutely nothing besides waste 3 months of my time. Then I filed for arbitration ( and I was decline any assistance). They’ve replaced the pano roof water drains several times as well as the entire back window. They found leaks
in the body seams and the door seals. After each time the truck is repaired, another leak apears. I have completely run out of patience and I am furious. After paying all this money for a vehicle, I’ve been left for dead by the manufacturer and left with a truck that can’t be repaired. I’m going to lose my *** if I trade this truck in.

Sorry for the delay, So as far as watching the pinch welds goes. I pulled the interior panels but kept the door seals in place. Doing this made it possible for me to watch the water trickle into the cab and start pooling on the floor board. Once I noticed the water building up I then opened the door removed the seal and watched as it trickled through the pinch weld and ran down to the floor board. Just yesterday we have horrible storms raining sideways horrible winds flooded roads I picked up my floor mat and it was perfectly dry. I checked the whole cab everything was nice and dry, unfortunately my truck popped a check engine light though. Ran the scanner on it and it came up as a P0305 code, cylinder 5 misfire. Jesus fix one thing then another thing happens. Truck was idling so rough it felt as if i had a high lobe cam in it. Check engine light was flashing and I could barely get up to speed it was missing so bad. Truck only has 6000 miles on it. Guess Ill drop it off for the half *** gas pedal fix and airbag recall while its there getting the misfire taken care of.How were you able to watch the pinch weld? If you had it exposed so you could see it, didn’t that mean you had the door seal removed? Isn’t the seal necessary to keep water from leaking in around the door. I am not trying to be too inquisitive about this but I too thought I had a pinch weld leak and took it to my dealer. Even showed them the location. They did their tests and claimed no leak their. Since them I check my drivers side carpet anytime it rains or I wash the car. So far, it has been dry. So I don’t know. So I would be very very curious how you did your test. Thanks
I also found that the only way i could get the leak to appear with a water hose was to spray the roof and let it run down the drip channel which then lets the water run down between the fender and the driver side front door. This will lead the water right to the leaking pinch weld. I sprayed everything on the firewall found the hood release cable grommet to have a small leak so I silly coned that up as well.Hi, S any updates?
I am getting the same leak as well and am about to seal it, wondering how did you do?

I have not the slightest clue. I used some silicone to fill in the hole so we'll see how that holds up. I have an appointment Monday at my dealership to have my truck looked at. I'm going to request new carpet.how does the water get behind that giant rubber seal?
