Aftermarket Amp and 12” sub install in a HK LIMITED!

Yes installing the wiring was frustrating. If you want to run it on the drivers side then do yourself a favor and just pull the drivers seat. You can then easily run it under the carpet.
Yea thats exactly what I'm going to do today. I tried running it on the side of the plastic holder but nothing seemed to work so I just stopped lol. Tonight I'll finish running it witht he seat taken off.

But don’t you have the alpine or hk system? That’s not a stock 6 speaker setup.
I have the stock 6 speaker set up. I saw a plug hanging loose in the back and thought it was for the factory amp. So I ordered it when it came in I went to install it and it did not have the connection. When I talked to the guy at the audio store we talked about what I wanted to do so he was able to incorporate the factory sub which I had no plug for connection into this system. I upgraded the factory speakers to focal 165 front and rear and had the audio store install complete system. I now have a 7 speaker system. It is not a Harmon kardon or alpine well technically the factory sub is an alpine. Those are jbl amps and I also had a bass knob installed hidden on the dash to the left and underneath the gear shift knob.

Can you post a few pictures of where the two subs ended up? I’d like to go with one 13tw5.

Here’s mine I just got it finished. I used the factory sub and tied it in to jbl amp I wanted to keep the under seat storage I went with the jbl 600vxi with the 300 amp for the sub I also replaced the factory six speakers with focal 165’s. I have the 8.4 with the touch screen I was going to put the dsr1 with the idatalink and exceleron but they came back and said since I didn’t have the stock alpine system or Harmon Kardon they aren’t compatible with the 6 speaker system but these are the installed pictures they also put it the Bluetooth link for tuning and a hardwire as well

How are those amps mounted to the back cab? Is there some kind of inner wall they are screwed into?

They made a board covered with carpet made two straps and screwed into existing holes on body the amps are screwed onto the board

For those wondering about the v2 dual 10" fox box, I took the plunge and ordered it.

I ordered on Saturday, June 1st and received today, Wednesday, June 12th.

The box is sturdy, well built and beautiful and quite heavy. They included the nicer wiring cups even though I didn't order them.

The box doesn't fit quite right, however. It sits just a tad too tall and this creates a problem with reclining...you can't. The seats sit on the box. The seats sit up high enough that when sitting in the center spot, my head touched the cab ceiling. The seats behind the driver and passenger, I have about 2" of head clearance. I am 5'11".

I have since sent an email to Joe Fox and I will see what they are willing to do, if anything.

I am curious if seat spacers would cause issues with the seat back latching or reclining. 27869278702787127872278732787427875278762787727878

Seat spacers would probably be fine. I used them on my last fox box to lift the seats an inch.

I emailed fox acoustic people and the seat spacer comes with the dual 10 box, did u install them? How many inches is the spacer?

When I ordered my box, the description didn't include the spacers, and neither did the photos.

After emailing them, the picture for the spacers has been added.

I did not receive spacers and they have since mailed them to me.

I should receive them tomorrow and I'll post a follow up.

I have the same box in my attic for the same reason... ordered the super crew sound box.. works as it should. Tried emailing and calling with no answers...

What super crew box fits these trucks? And if your local to Houston I’ll take that extra box haha!

Installed the spacers today. They lift the seat up Just enough for proper clearance.

Now, I have full motion of the reclining seats, although it is not smooth as the seats still rest on the box. I can recline while seated, but it takes a bit of effort and the box will sometimes slide forward with me.

Be aware that raising the seats throws off the geometry slightly of the latch mechanism. If you have the recline in the full, upright position, you cannot latch the seat back if it was unlatched. You have to recline forward completely to latch the seatback. Once latched, you can go back to full upright recline, but you can tell there is pressure on the latch that doesn't want to the seats to go all the way back.

I hope I explained it well enough.

Overall, I love the box. The sound is great, though I may add some polyfill to it to bring the box volume closer to the subs recommendation. I'm using JL 10W0v3.

I am disappointed that I had to add spacers. I bought the 10" version because the 12" required spacers and I didn't want to go down that road...it was not clear up front that spacers would be required. I had 2 12" subs already....

The experience from Fox Acoustics was not great. Lack of communication on the spacers and relatively slow shipping are my gripes. Joe Fox responded quickly to my emails and had a tracking number for the spacers I needed that day, though they didn't actually ship them until 2 days later.

I was surprised that Joe asked to use my pics for his site, though he hasn't posted them yet.

I hope this helps someone and made sense. Having a few celebration brews!

In the middle of my install now. 100 degree heat today made it a pretty sh*t job, but was able to get the rear seats and rear wall carpeting removed and run the power/ground/remote wires. The temps had melted the glue holding the back wall sound deadening rubber mat in place, so I’ll be correcting that before getting everything back together. Trying to decide between the AmpPRO or LC2i for the interface. Having a local shop build the box for me since I don’t have a good place to do some woodworking. Installing 2x RF P3SD2 10”s and a RF 750w amp. More pics as I get it all put together

In that slightly recessed space on the right, I'm planning on buying a piece of plastic. If the seats are still out, do you mind giving me some measurements of something that would fit real good, with a little gap?

I had great success adding noico 80 mil sound dampener and the noico green closed cell foam. There was also room to hang a sheet of MLV on the back, but not enough to room to hang in the doors. Now I have a huge roll with no use at this point.

Maybe one day I will pull the seats and carpet again and door the floor.

You talking about these recesses?

I wouldn’t mind coating the back wall with something while I have it disassembled. That’s usually where I hear rattles from even with the stock system.

The only rattles I hear now are at very specific frequencies on the interior door pillars.

I'll take a crack at that one day. My truck sounds so good that I get goosebumps sometimes.

I was thinking something like what this guy made. Got it from the facebook page. Just from estimating, an inch more at the top, 3 or 4" at the bottom, and 1/2" at both sides? I have a couple amps, and hoping I can fit them both on that 1 side. JL Audio 900/5 and an Alpine S-A32F. I think it was 105 here today, so just trying to plan this out to do when the temps get cooler.
