Adding Passive Entry: How-to

Does any one know if this harness that’s sold by Mopar, is the harness that plugs into the door handles and the wire loom to the door body for adding the passive door lock?

Not sure, i got mine from Jimmy07 on this forum. Quality harness for both doors and rear antenna. He even labels the wires for the terminal they go into and driver/passenger.

It doesn’t have the ends to plug into the door, and might not be long enough on page one you can see the part numbers and add the ends, or make you own wires or pay jimmy.

I'm going to make my own harness. Do I need the rear antenna? I only want the 2 front doors to be passive

You do if you want the tailgate to be passive. You might get better communication with it, but it isn't required.

I don't need it to be passive. My 14 has passive locks without the tailgate and I was fine with it. After looking through the post someone mentioned an error code because the didn't install the rear antenna. They had to change am ap5 trunk setting in alpha obd?

Its 20 dollars for rear antenna, prevents you from locking keys in truck, my last truck didnt have it and didnt need it either, but tailgate didn’t lock either when i locked doors? To me its not necessary but worth the extra 20 bucks

Ok. Ima little confused on the rear antenna install. It's shows a parts for installing the antenna but this is saying you just find the plug and plug it in?
This is the easiest part. Looking up from under the spare tire, on the left side is a plug with a dummy cap plugged into it. Plug your antenna in to this plug. That’s it!

Yes according to him if you have a heavy duty 2500 it is there is 1500 its not

This is for the people who made their own harness, how long did you make each one?

Does anyone know the pins and the seals for the rear facia connector for the 21 ram 1500 it’s not listed and I’ve kind of searched through a lot of the form, but haven’t found anything

Sorry buddy don't know. I just had jimmy07 make mine. Costs a little more but everything is done like the factory and labeled, makes install real easy.

I did msg Jimmy to ask but thought I'd ask here as well. Doing passenger side first...do these look properly seated? There wasn't really a big "snap" into place.

No ,doesn't look like they are in all the way, you should not see any metal. Make sure they are in the correct direction, I believe they only go in one direction, try rotating 180degrees. You should here and feel a click, should not take a lot of force and they will not pull back out.

Also look on the other side of the terminal block, they should be sticking out the same as the other pins.

this is the part in the door, not under the car. Tee ones under the truck for the rear fascia DID snap in.

Don't think I can see the pins on the other side, at least without removing the other plugs.

AND now I need to order new male pins, damaged one of them try to get it through the boot.

ETA: I decided to try and finish up and see how it went since I was like 90% done. I "re-jimmied" :p the male pin, finished the install and did the JSCAN changes. Well, what do ya know....everything works! Woohoo!

The male pins for the doors did seem to "set" in but didn't fully snap in like the ones for the rear fascia. 🤷‍♂️

I ordered some replacement pins, if it stops working I'm reasonably confident where the problem might lie since I re-crimped the one.

If anybody doesn’t want to spend the money for the entire door harnesses and rear facia harness, and doesn’t feel like building the add on harnesses with the parts, let me know and I can build them for you-

How much would they cost

Did you ever find them ? That’s all I lack
