2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

I've owned a 09 4.7L hemi an 15 5.7L and a 20 5.7L and now the 25 3.0 twin turbo. Going to the 3.0 SST I wish they would have told me about the cool down humming coming from the right side of the engine below the battery. Got me so concerned I took it it the second day I had it. Any other peculiarities of this engine I should know?

Has anyone’s 2025 RAM had an electrical meltdown when stopping at a red light or stop sign? Twice today, my truck displayed a message about 4WD/parking brake and servicing the emergency brake for about a second or two before shutting down completely I had to restart it manually both times, and thankfully, no cars were behind me.
I’m concerned about the risk if this happens on the highway. I couldn't believe it just stalled like that wtf

yea its like a transformer . Truck will make many noises even when you walk near it hours after shut off its like it know your coming. What you are hearing is the pump for the coolant for the turbos does this for 15 20 mins after shut off. Turbos cars with direct injection need a few things proper warm up 3000 mile oil changes 93 octane and let idle for 2 to 3 mins before shutting off. If its a lease who cares then lol.

It's like a dog that wants you to walk it...

Another reason to not buy a lease return (that has turbos).

When did you get your truck back and what was the fix? Hadn't seen any updates since the last one you mentioned about waiting for a new PCM. Also, if it's doing that and you can get it on video while it starts happening you can show your dealer and see what they say, but I would take it back quick if it was doing that!

I haven't had a minute's trouble out of my truck. Of course, I'm talking about my '97 diesel 2500 with 338,000 miles on it. The 2025 ram 1500, it's still in the shop.

Probably lessons learned with the Cummins turbos, even though most don't cool down the turbo, you should practice that. Now if your towing, especially at the max ratings, you should idle engine 5 mins to help cool down the turbos, and don't rely on the ECM to determine that. It probably will run the separate cooling system anyway, but idle for 5 min anyway after towing. With my Hemi, I shut it off when traveling because no turbo so there's no need. I recommend you idle the Hurricane while stopped at a rest stop, unless your there for a longer period than stop and go.

My 25 Rebel did that on my drive home from the dealership. After they talked to the ram engineers it turned out to be a bad secondary battery (the little one for auto stop/start). Been running great since they replaced the battery. I now have 472 miles.

Just finished my 1st oil change. Very disappointed to see oil coming out of the weep hole in the bell housing! looks like a rear main seal leak. Oil all over the sway bar and I noticed small oil spots in my driveway... the list of issues is ridiculous, and this just adds to the pile. A lifetime of trucks, mostly Ford, a Chevy diesel, 2 early Nissan Titans, none had me getting warranty work that wasn't a recall. They didn't have issues. Maybe I got a disgruntled union members build truck or 3rd shift build or hangover Monday build... but as of now, I think Ram builds crap, I wish I had never bought one, Bad on me for making this choice.

I feel your pain. I don't think there is a really great company any more though. Hondas and Toyotas used to be praised as the best overall, but I know people that have had issues, and heard about many more. We've had a couple of Mazda cars, and IMHO they are the best these days. I wish they made a truck that was the size and features I want. My current Ram (2025 Laramie SO 2wd) seems pretty good. I have had a couple of weird happening with the 12", but went away after a restart. The drivability of this one is better than any of the 5.7, and mpg is almost decent. Comfort and visibility, load carrying is great, so I'm hoping and praying I got a good one.
People just don't seem to care about doing a good job anymore, and it's showing up all over. I make a living figuring out how to help people improve or eliminate factory flaws. The fact that some of the same flaws have been around for 20 to 40 years in 1 family of motorcycles means they don't care enough to do things right. Dealer mechanics, Ram or otherwise, often are not able to do the job as well as it should be done. Could be not enough time allowed, maybe they don't know how, leadership doesn't care, whatever. I've had them screw up an alignment so bad it was dangerous. People just don't seem competent and focused any more, by and large.
I wish you luck with your truck!!
