2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

for al with hud not showing posted speed limit and street your on today uconnect updated in truck now it works know a lot of people keep going to dealership for this with no luck so force update it or reboot it

Got the truck back today so only two weeks from when I took it. Apparently there’s a newer TSB/update from Ram. No engine light yet but I do feel some hesitation around 1800-2100 RPM and there has been some audible misfire pop when light pedaling and going up a steep incline. I’ll keep driving it for a few days to see if anything pops up. I’ll also check for codes after each drive.

Another thing as well is truck felt sluggish this time. I felt like there’s more hesitation but maybe it’s just me. I called Ram care too and they closed the case since they said it’s “fixed”. I was just tryin to see if they would give me any info and let me talk to them about how I felt.

i know my truck is better but once it at hot temps after at least 30 mins of driving or more it needs to be driven harder to by pass the ******** going on at low rpms my dealer ship i have death with for over 30 years playing games once i told them they have three time to fix it or its lemoned they don't send e mails or text of any kind of communication or verification anymore or report it to carafax only my first appointment was and on paperwork they give says update pcm update iscm i tell them is bucking and surging and misfiring they don't put it on there so anyone buying one needs to get it super hot on test drive also i got the 10000 in rebates first time its really hard to get them it suppose to be 15 percent off msrp 4500 cash allowance and another 2000 they won't give it on newer one i tried to get and then on my trade they use it against me and tell there's big rebates on your truck so i can't give you a lot on your trade cause i have sell it cheaper than a new one but then again i can't get all the big rebates on the one i am buying wtf thanks for listening sorry for punctuation

any cel running any better

Yeah it’s running good. First felt like it had some surging or misfire around 1800-2100 but I haven’t felt it since the day I brought it home.
well happy hear it running better. so hard to pinpoint dealers really aint fixing anything till it breaks mine has to be hot hot for it to start so only thing i can do is get it hot go to deanship leave it running and demand me tech drive it right now or you get we can't duplicate the problem sir

I feel extremely lucky, I put another 600 miles on the truck this weekend towing the sleds up north, the only problem I’m still having is the truck declaring that the trailer connections have come undone, but they haven’t, I can look in the mirror at that moment and see that the lights are still on and don’t even flicker, sometimes it goes right back to reading the trailer length and sometimes it comes back on a few minutes later. I guess I just have to live with it.

My is 7’x19’ with a 5’ v-nose, 92” high outside, it weighs approximately 4500#’s with the bikes or sleds. This summer on a 1,400 mile round trip with the bikes I got 13.2 MPG running 67-72 MPH. Last weekend pulling the sleds I got 9.5 MPG running approximately the same speed, the difference in the two are, in the winter I run a 34” all terrain tire that is 11#’s heavier per tire and it was extremely windy. Also my truck has 3.92 gears.

I’m actually averaging 3 miles to the gallon more with this truck than I did with the hemi same gears

Those tires are not helping a bit.

Just curious what mode you have it in
auto My trans is crappy when in sport 4wd auto you fell front tires get tough like its in 4wd on dry pavement you can here winding engaging noise up to 20 mph . I use same dealer for my trucks in 20 years never had a problem. I finally got a bad one and they keep saying it software. I have done all tsb updates . just gonna wait it out till it breaks or 2026 ram has a hemi again .

Serious consideration was being given to the purchase of a new 2025 RAM Laramie. The lack of reliability experienced by the gentlemen on this forum is beyond unacceptable. The RAM 1500 Laramie was a potential option due to Consumer Reports recommendation and the pickup body style. I want to thank you all for highlighting your challenges and helping me avoid a negative customer experience.

Wanted a '25 very much. Watched the models since January and intending to order in April. The website didn't run consistently, I began hearing of order problems and later the quality problems. I held out hope while beginning to look at other mfgs. With repeated CELs on some I finally went with a '24 GMC 1500k Denali 6.2 and traded my 8 yr old RAM. So far after 8,000 miles and 3 road trips this summer I couldn't be happier.

I do miss some RAM features such as RAM box and adjustable suspension and intend to look at RAM again in a few years. I'm certain there are many happy '25 RAM owners but with no communication or transparency between my dealer and Stellantis for months even though I wanted to order I threw in the towel.

The 3.0 Hurricane engine has been around for over 2 years used in the Jeep Wagoneer platform. It's 2.0L Hurricane cousin has been used since 2018.
I would not worry about the thermostat since all 2025 RAM are using the 4th revision. So far I have 5,500 miles on my SO and it's not perfect.

I'm sure GM will give you prompt service after the 6.2 drops a valve into the piston like by brother in law 2023 Tahoe did after 18,000 miles.
GM didn't even give him a new engine instead it took the dealer 3 weeks to rebuild it.
