Yeah no. I'm not jumping into another likely nightmare. Widespread as the problems are, there's no reason to assume I'd get a decent one. I may just keep on pimpin in my '96 blazer for a while once this is gone.
I understand that feeling. If I'm stuck with them, I'll just get something I want. If not, I'm going to wait a few months and then buy a ZR2 Silverado.Yeah no. With the rare exception of covid era truck values (which have all settled back down now), how is anyone really "positive" in their equity?Best of luck with that, considering RAM depreciation trends. IMO, Achieving positive equity on a new truck with an aggressive depreciation trend is virtually impossible. With RAMs, you have to hold it longer to get positive equity. Considering that it is a working truck and has a history of issues, I do not anticipate the resale value being anywhere near "positive equity" territory.
This is why I feel as if 2025 RAM let me down.
i been ahead of the game for 20 years all starts with the first one and truck payment is apart of life until i hit 70 if i live that long . Paid it off in three years trade back in buy more exspensive one rinse repeat always get all rebates and max for trade then last three years they jumped now your buy at msrp you are doing good now the rebates are back the big car reset is here which caused me not to buy and then i wanted the newest toy didn't know the toy would be bad by the way i live in Pennsylvania i have not seen another 2025 in person on the street crazy they all must be in the back of dealer broke hahaWith the rare exception of covid era truck values (which have all settled back down now), how is anyone really "positive" in their equity?
I can instantly be "positive" by applying $10K to a car loan, but even though I'm now "positive", I just redirected $10K. My puny economics understanding doesn't grasp that "positive" concept with a steeply depreciating asset.
i hope so i go in this week for more updatesI know this doesn’t pertain to all of your trucks, but I’ve believed all along that this problem (for me especially) was software related. Yesterday I took a 400+ mile roadtrip and the truck acted exactly like I believe it should, I was particularly interested in the fuel economy I would get, you see it is my belief that problem is being caused by the fuel trims (adjustments to the mixture based on engine parameters). Under cold start conditions the pcm is running on open loop, and after warm up it goes into closed loop. For me the truck ran like **** in open loop (I know this is the opposite for some of you), but it seems to me that the fuel trims are to blame either way. What I can’t wrap my head around is why a majority of these trucks have no problems while we do. Unless something happens I’ll give an update once a week. For right now if you haven’t had the pcm reflashed, do it. It certainly can’t hurt. I wish all of you the best luck.

An open and closed loop of what?
I get and agree with the software causing most issues -- the state of tune for the application of this engine for RAM needs more tuning.
Just an anecdotal comment, Ford uses the 5.0 V8 on Mustangs and F150s. Each has a different tune. and they work for each application!
Stellantis picked the 3.0 from GW and dropped it in a pickup, and they did not tune the engine for a diff. application.
Damn I hate that you have had the issues you have had with your 25.. i have the identical truck to that. Huge fan of it in every way so far except the quirky software glitches. The 3.0 has all the power I’d need, I mostly daily it and the occasional 7x12 in closed behind it. Performs both just as well if not better (smoother) than my 19 hemi. But time will tell on this. Fingers crossed you get a wave of good luck on your side brother! It breaks my heart to do this to this bad boy...View attachment 192866
Thank you so much! It's been a difficult year for many of us. Thank you, Lord. I'm here, and this means I can make a change.Damn I hate that you have had the issues you have had with your 25.. i have the identical truck to that. yo put up pics please i didn't see it on mine when i was under there checking all the fusesYesterday I climbed up under my dash to remove some GPS/cellular tracking BS the dealer installs on all the new vehicles they sell. I am pretty pissed that some hacker got up in there and cut open the harness and added 6 or 7 scotch-lock type connectors to various wires behind the kick panel cover and they screwed a pushbutton switch onto the lower dash cover, so now I have 2 screw holes to ask them to correct. Thery also cut one wire which ran into and out of the device. I disconnected the batteries to do this removal, and upon startup the truck sounded smoother, I didn't notice surging. I drove it today and the light throttle surge and funny feeling shifts are completely gone. Not enough miles driven to do any real economy check but I did reset the on-board mileage calculator, and it seems there is a small improvement. I guess time will tell if the truck relearns and goes back to the way it was. I also charged my battery with an AGM specific charger, and it took a charge for a few hours. Maybe system voltage has something to do with it? Today's drives (25ish miles) were pleasant.
also yes i don't use asss kills voltage warm up in morning and accessories on high for the first ten mins volts stay in 14 but you see everything on hi adjust take off and *** volts will be in low 13 not goodYesterday I climbed up under my dash to remove some GPS/cellular tracking BS the dealer installs on all the new vehicles they sell. i said this from the beginning once hot o2 sensors start to work they are off until coolant temps hit 160 just dumping fuel once my coolant temp hit 170 my problems begin people don't know you can unhook them get cel run rich and faster mpg out the windowDo a google search for details. Simple explanation: During a “cold start”, the engine is not using the O2 sensors to adjust the fuel trims (the amount the injectors are outputting), this is based on a pre determined amount (Open loop). After certain parameters are met (I.e. time/temperature) the pcm goes into “closed loop”, it is then adjusting the fuel trims based off of the feedback from the O2 sensors (and others). I’m not an expert by any means, but I have tuned power sports equipment and the “theory” is relatively the same.

do you mean the tracking device?yo put up pics please i didn't see it on mine when i was under there checking all the fuses
holy moly thanks i don't have switch anywhere but i look and see if there's a box like that crazy that would be on brand new truck its not a hellcat or scatpack thanks again i go for updates tomorrow but i am unhooking my battery right now to see if that helps first cause i have surge but no celdo you mean the tracking device?
you are correct i said this for inspections it illegal update did fix if i touched gas pedal in park a little my engine would die sept 21 update fixed that for me no cel still surge little on start up batteries unhooked hope it gets rid of low rpm ;right to light surging double surge after each shift like clock workThe latest pcm flash that I know of seems to be primarily aimed at preventing the cel from coming on no matter how bad the misfiring. This allows people in states with inspections that fail you for having codes stored to pass. It's an end run around the problem, probably buying them more time to figure out the actual problem while avoiding the negative publicity of having customers with new trucks unable to pass an inspection. I can personally attest that with the new flash my truck will not turn on the light and store hard codes no matter how badly it's running. It will store pending codes, but that's all.
