2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

I'll address this and what you sent me in a pm here. Expect to be on hold upwards of 30 minutes each time you call. In my experience, despite what they say, THEY WILL NOT EVER CALL YOU. Give up hope on that. As for the star case, my dealer started one when they were first unable to figure out what was wrong with the truck. I don't know whether the customer care folks can do that or not. I was hoping to get a buyback done through customer care. This seemed to me the best option-it might be quicker and easier if they did it voluntarily, and a benefit to them is that they would not have to put a declaration on the title of the truck that it was lemon lawed if they did it voluntarily. I now see that this approach is not possible. I have called them 3 times. The first time I was told to expect a call back in 24-48 hours. After 4 days or so went by, I called again, getting someone else. They said that since whoever should have called me had not, my case was being escalated to that person's supervisor, and I would be called within 24 hours. That was last week. Again, I was not called. So today, I called back AGAIN, and I got someone after not quite 40 minutes of hold time, who asked me my case number and said his name was Christian, I think. Then I got hung up on. That is when it dawned on me that ram simply is not going to allow me to do this the easy way. So, I will now do it the harder way. If you are suddenly unable to work a telephone or keyboard when someone needs you to call or contact them, you're truly working hard to **** up, and it shows. I suggest you bypass endless holds and promises and simply retain a lawyer. It seems that ram just won't abide things being any easier than that. What can I say, I tried.

Anyone have this done yet? says Engine hesitates/misfires.

Yes sir. Took mine in for ABS recall and they went ahead and did the available updates/flash. Been about 4-500 miles now and all cold starts have been smoother and also seem a bit shorter. As far as the surging I’ve read about, I do notice it in certain acceleration situations, but mine is smooth 95% of the time. Seem like some of that is just how this combination is going to be until the programming is really dialed in as they develope it. I’m sure we will get more and more updates that will need to be done. Will always love the HEMI and miss it, but my ‘25 is an awesome truck so far. No complaints.

Dang going to see how this goes. I’m going to talk to the manager when I go tomorrow too then. Maybe they will trade it off without going negative. I’ll probably go for a rebel if they let me.

no way that isn't acceptable how some of them are driving no way it a pice acrap

how many new cars or truck have you owned must be your first ram cause this surging is crap no turbo car i have driven drives like this this is the hole problem people are accepting this as ok growing pains
I know that I speak for me first of all. To answer that question, this is my 4th Ram. Two used two brand new. An 04, a ‘14, a ‘19 (new), and this ‘25 new.. while I agree that acting like certain things are just “how it is” is a bullcrap way to think on this expensive of a purchase, if you decide to dive in and buy a brand new truck with a power plant that is new to the truck completely, you are taking the chances. Again, to each their own. If it’s garbage to you than I hope you’re able to nail down the perfect truck for you. I will stick to RAM like I always have and if I DO wind up with several issues I will cross that bridge. In a year or so if I did hate this truck I’d trade it in on a 23-24 probably. But again, this is my personal experience with the ‘25 has been good so far aside from what I noticed before they did the updates for me. Best wishes brother!

@Russian Tank have you found anything out about your truck?

I just got a case number for mine and I need to take it to the dealer today. Here's another 2 hours of my day wasted and more PTO I'm using for this issue. They are going to have an engineer go look at the truck. That's all I was told.

Since the recent service, the "check engine" indicator has repeatedly turned on and off without clear resolution. This issue has persisted over the past few days, and I have not received any response to my follow-up emails from my Stellantis contact.

Unfortunately, due to my demanding schedule, I have not had the opportunity to bring the truck back to service again. As this is a new vehicle, I should not be experiencing these mechanical problems or be expected to make service appointments repeatedly. This situation has become a significant headache, and the lack of support is unacceptable.

I am looking for a solution to effectively address this issue without further time away from work and my family. I would much rather spend this time with my children than deal with a problem that should not exist in the first place.

Thank you for asking.

I agree with you. I’m losing out time away from family and taking time off work for them to look over this truck and they don’t seem to have a solution for it. Mine has had the light on the other day I reported and then it went out a few days later. Yesterday when I stoped at the dealer the light was off but the service advisor showed me the code for the misfires as pending. I just dropped it off and there was no light on but still showed pending on the computer for the misfires. Dealer said that Ram has advised that we should be using 91 or higher on our SO trucks as well. I spoke to the service advisor and they said it was difficult for them to do buy backs with Ram. It was going to require me calling them for updates frequently and lots of escalation. I find it odd I don’t have a CEL but the codes are there for random misfires and the frequent feel of a misfire when driving.

Well my CEL came back on. I was close by the dealer so I stopped by. Codes again are random misfire and the same fuel pressure code I showed earlier. They told me they had no loaners so best option was to just keep driving it. Apparently Ram is coming out with new software updates beginning of 2025. The manager told me to use premium from now on. I asked if there is anything they can do, all they said is that they would be willing to trade my vehicle in for something else if I wanted to, but I know I would be taking a hit.
That's not an acceptable option. Stick to your guns. Sorry you guys are having to deal with this.

Man I know what ya mean there. I had a ‘24 I was thinking about before I bought this one and it just sold yesterday. Hopefully it won’t come to that, but I’m ok with a good used 24 if I do need to jump back. The money part would suck a little I’m sure.

well if it worked i am gonna unhook my batteries today when i get home cause i don't have cel but it surges i wonder if these trucks really need etc calibration

I have started the truck 5 times so far and have not had a CEL, I have noticed that the truck doesn’t stutter at high rpm during the cold starts like it did before, I can’t find my paperwork, so I can’t tell you what flash they did. I will be taking it on a road trip this weekend so I’ll report back on Saturday, I’ll still continue to start it twice a day until then. I have a work truck so I don’t normally drive it during the week. I really love this truck and am very disappointed on what I read everyone going through, it really sucks!!! I hope they get this ironed out for the rest of you.

I did see this morning they added some coms to the NHTSA website. Looks like they are asking tech's to send them data for the CEL issue, but no solutions yet. I bought a September build SST at the end of October and also have CEL on, first came on at 400 miles, did the PCM flash last week and CEL come back on this week at 800 miles. I haven't noticed any surging or the engine running rough though. Hoping they can get this sorted out soon.

Transitioning to a different vehicle at this point would result in significant financial losses amounting to thousands of dollars and countless hours of my time. The ongoing issues with my RAM, both mechanical and electrical, compounded by organizational inefficiencies and customer service challenges, have pushed my patience to the limit. Despite my initial loyalty to the RAM brand, the current situation has made it clear that I may need to consider other manufacturers if these problems persist. The "service hell" I am experiencing, which I know others have also endured, is unsustainable.

Having said that, while I appreciate the performance of the HEMI engine, alternatives like the Ford Tremor, with its 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 and 400 horsepower, are becoming more appealing.

I strongly encourage Stellantis senior management to allocate resources toward resolving these significant and widespread issues impacting customers. Failure to address these challenges risks alienating a critical customer demographic, potentially driving them to competitors such as Ford.

This situation requires immediate attention to preserve RAM's brand loyalty and market share. I hope someone from Stellantis is reading this....
