2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

Yeah, I've had my light come back up already again. It cleared a few days later and randomly I got it again today. Not sure what to think anymore.
I'm thinking of getting rid of it and trying a different brand. This is what I'm thinking.

Well, the light came back. We are back to square one less than 1000 miles after the mega service investigation.
holy crap so sorry to hear man i am in same boat with you accept you sit in that nice red leather lol

what's crazy i want a cel same old story my problem is surging when hot

i have one question for all where are you guys shifting at going up to speed maybe i drive it to slow making the surge more noticeable

I have noticed that this engine/transmission likes to be higher up in rev range for shifts, if I drive like a granny I think I feel what you guys are describing, seems to me that when the trans short shifts you feel it, I think they did that for mileage. It’s like riding a sport bike, below 6000rpm they fall on their face, above 6 they move out. DRIVE LIKE YA STOLE EM FELLAS!!!!!

You're not wrong, it's documented that the SST is a higher-rev range motor. So in a way, yes, drive it more aggressively :)

your right sport mode all the way fixes a lot of the surge and shimmy but it constant even at cruise speed i feel surging even if i hold gas pedal steady in park you see the surge

It's interesting that during cold start the engine surges for a while before the RPM starts to drop.

Anyone have this done yet? says Engine hesitates/misfires.

TSB: 08-205-24 REV. A GROUP: 08 - Electrical

you need to read this hole thread like a book its 49 pages you will get all info all updates tsb at dealer but also need cel trucks idles high to warm up cats also go to nhtsa look up 2025 ram ram 1500 crew cab how it comes up you will see all tsb recalls and complaints

opinions hk vs alpine hk better highs but bass rolls where the alpine hits harder i think something changed big time in all these trucks from 23 up wiring software everything besides engines

My 25 Limited H.O. just had the check engine light come on this afternoon at 840 miles. Two days ago, I filled the tank up with non-ethanol 90 octane fuel. Could this be an issue since it's not "91 +" or possibly something else? Truck runs, drives, and sounds perfect. Won't be able to make a dealer appt for a few days.

Not sure, but I certainly wouldn't use a lower octane rated fuel with that motor. Definitely look for 91+ in the future. I think this is one of the first HO to report the CEL.

if you have wrong gas in it it will let you know on your first time you hit passing gear high rpm comes right up on dash check owners manual for correct oil and fuel

mine didn’t do that. I parked overnight and this morning it was gone, and so far driving today, nothing.

i know same issues so pissed crazy fully hot comeback out of store start up high idle to clean off all the blow by i hate to say it cause wot is fun and it is quiet and smooth engines suck no way high millage will happen i found a 2024 longhorn 23000 off i hate to do it but i can't play this game with those dealers i am so upset i don't wanna be on the 500 news ruin my life so i might have to get rid of it i have stories for hours about this truck there's no fix i think its twisted wire harness done my jaw you can take out of ghetto can't take the ghetto out of them
so I've hit the 300 mile mark today, now laying into the throttle much harder. It seems this truck is noticeably slower than the one I had prior. So, hesitating and has less outright power, the first truck would push you back in the seat, this one does not. I'll give it a few hundred more miles to seat the rings, hopefully I didn't give up a perfectly functional truck for one with the common complaints...
