2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

so I've hit the 300 mile mark today, now laying into the throttle much harder. It seems this truck is noticeably slower than the one I had prior. So, hesitating and has less outright power, the first truck would push you back in the seat, this one does not. I'll give it a few hundred more miles to seat the rings, hopefully I didn't give up a perfectly functional truck for one with the common complaints...
Feel like mine is acting the same way after the update. Before this thing would launch and put you back in your seat. Now I just feel like it pulls a bit, but doesn't sit you back. My wife said the same thing too the other day.

last update i got was sept 21 there is 2 since then i don't even know if i even need the 2 or not i think its nov 1 update and oct 8 update

Well, the light came back. We are back to square one less than 1000 miles after the mega service investigation.
I'm not sure if you've had the PCM update yet, which addresses pending misfire codes. It’s possible that the update wasn't available at the time of your initial investigation.

The engine does not like light throttle. Has a surging problem under constant light throttle like the tuning isn't refined. There are no CELs, though for mine. Almost 1800 miles; mostly highway. Also, at idle, which is about 650 RPM, I've got a whistling noise that originates from the passenger side engine compartment. My guess is a vacuum leak which could support the engine surging. There's a disruption in airflow somewhere.

I may be the outlier here, having had two 2025 rebels. the first had no surging, better power and better MPG. Every time I drive the new one, slight disappointment with no real hope for resolution. hope Ram resolves and we can all have trucks we love. I am trying.

Yesterday my truck went in for the tsb, I didn’t ask specifics because I was in a hurry when I picked it up. I will report back if it works for me. I do know that it was a PCM flash. The transmission did seem to shift smoother on my ride home, but that could be because they disconnected the batteries.

we have spoken about the noise on passenger side everyone has it on here that's having problems also but it could be the truck . rebel guy is proof for me now thought i was crazy it was ****ty programing but others run perfect . i have went over hole truck can't find nutin but a silver cylinder on passenger side under main intake tube has 2 metal line coming off with a loop around each end like a vacuum hose should be connected but nutin is there . then on turbo coolant tank a hose comes off bottom just sitting there my truck was built at night i don't think its build dates but the certain shift that's producing bad trucks

Mine's back in the shop. Last time it was there I got what I think was the latest pcm flash. Service guy said it doesn't say it's to remedy any specific problem, but he thinks they probably did slide some stuff in there. My truck did the same thing it always does, severe bucking/jerking and obvious misfiring, and the check engine light flashed again, as it always does. However, this time it WOULD NOT turn on the check engine light and store hard codes. Same misfire codes as usual were stored, but only as pending. I must have driven it 10 miles acting up, and it just refused to store them as hard codes and keep the cel on. I didn't turn it off when I took it to the dealer, so they were able to see that yes, pending codes were stored, but no freeze frame data was stored because the trucks apparently don't save that unless a hard code is kept. At this point I don't even want the truck back. It has about 850 miles on it, and this is the 4th time it's been to the shop.

Time to check your local lemon law..

first update sept 8 was for the cel not come on or stay on for misfires so people can get their car inspected i feel its illegal to do that cause we still have the misfires and surging in morning

waiting on you brother hope all is well

Well my CEL came back on. I was close by the dealer so I stopped by. Codes again are random misfire and the same fuel pressure code I showed earlier. They told me they had no loaners so best option was to just keep driving it. Apparently Ram is coming out with new software updates beginning of 2025. The manager told me to use premium from now on. I asked if there is anything they can do, all they said is that they would be willing to trade my vehicle in for something else if I wanted to, but I know I would be taking a hit.

Yeah it is. I'm going to look it up here in a bit. I want to contact Ram right quickly and see what they tell me.
I love this truck as it has everything I wanted, but damn this is annoying.

Good luck. I have called and spoken to ram customer care twice. Both times I was told I'd be called back in a specific time frame. Neither time did I ever hear from anyone. I'm trying to be reasonable and get them to voluntarily buy it back, but they're working hard to screw up, apparently. The number I called is 866-726-4636. Be prepared for half hour hold times.

Let me know what you hear if you hear anything back please. Feel like this is going to be a nightmare.

It probably will. One thing I've read is that you should not mention lawyers when talking to these folks, that they will close the case if you do. I have not contacted an attorney myself yet, I'm still hoping they'll handle things less formally than that.

First attempt on contacting them didn't go well. Hope it was a mistake, but I was on hold for 40 mins. The dude got all my info and said, "Oh yeah you will need to open a star case." I said ok, then he hung up. hahaha
