2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

When I said they're working to buy back as many as possible, I was being semi-sarcastic. What I really meant was with all the screwing up they're doing they're creating lots of situations ripe for a buyback.

Has anyone had this issue and then never had it again after taking it to the shop? It seems like most continue to have the CEL issue once it first occurs.

One or two people in this thread actually got theirs resolved. One was a fuel pump, and I think the other was an air filter housing lid that was apparently improperly installed from the factory.

My dealer just called me. New TSB released this past Saturday for the Misfire issues. The fix is a software update. When ever mine gets done I’ll update. Call your dealers! You may get in before I’d do.
Any update?

My Update (for anyone that cares)- they did an update to the PCM that came out this past weekend.

I picked it up and drove 5 mins and it started shaking again and the CEL came on 🤦‍♂️ turned around and brought it right back to the service department. Very frustrating

From what I've read, the HO engines are not experiencing that.
Bought a Longhorn with the HO a month and a half ago, and I’m having the same issues with CEL. Spent more time at the dealer than with me. Ram told them to replace pcv valve, hose and the cover the hose goes through. They replaced the valve and hose, but not the cover, it’s on back order. Got the truck back tonight and not even 5 minutes later, CEL came back on. Called dealer and they said it was because they couldn’t replace the cover as Ram told them to replace all 3 parts. Doesn’t make much sense. I’ve been getting the same runaround as most of you. It’s frustrating to say the least

Oh geez, that sucks. I'm sorry you're going through that.

What gas are you running ?

I wanted to provide a significant update and apologize for the delay in responding. Unfortunately, I was involved in an accident while performing some work on my driveway, resulting in a broken right leg and arm. I am currently undergoing physical therapy and focused on recovery.

On another note, my truck has been repaired. The following services were completed:

  • Installed new spark plugs, ignition coils, fuel injectors, and ignition module
  • Reset the PCM and cleared adaptations
  • Performed the injector adaptation procedure
I drove over 1000 miles without any issues. Over $4K in fixes/parts. Still need the software update. In the end, they have no idea what really caused the misfire trigger, but it happened under 50 mph speed, and the the issue was intermediate.

Again - Thank you for your patience. I look forward to staying in touch. If anyone needs more specific information or contact at the STELLANTIS corporate, please let me know, and I'll be glad to help.

Appreciate the update and here's to a speedy recovery! Hope your truck is problem free from here on out.

Will they do a software update on truck that hasn’t had engine light come on? Looking to purchase one tomorrow and wondering if I need to have their service department see if the truck needs a software update?

Ask them to do it and prove it if it was needed or not. Depends on your build date.

Mine did it again yesterday. The surging/bucking, stalling, and check engine light. 7 codes stored, all misfire-related. Nothing on the mass airflow sensor this time. Luckily I already have an appointment to bring it in this Wednesday because of it trying to strand me at the gas station last Monday. Truck currently has 467 miles on it.

I am curious -
Do you guys get the email from RAM to rate your last visit every time that you take in the truck for service?
I respond to them, not sure if it makes any difference.
I also get an email from the dealer to rate their service.

Yes, I get it. I gave them a 10 last time because it seemed they had fixed it. Even now, I'm hesitant to give them a rating that would harm them because I believe the problem I'm having is caused by Ram, not the dealer. So far, few dealers seem to have been able to fix the issue with check engine lights and misfire codes. That tells me it's something they likely can't fix without help from ram.
