2022 RAM 1500

"you don't hear about the ugly side"

I agree - nothing on the mainstream media for sure. I did hear a rational discussion on the radio once though on lithium batteries.

can confirm. texas is completly ****ed right now.

To me it’s all irrelevant until they can make an electric truck that’s able to pull a 5k-7k camper at least 3-4hrs without stopping. Once they figure that out then I’ll be interested.

Finn- I think most of us are hoping for that at some point.

Apples and oranges. A semi driver is trying to make a living and has to watch his pennies. We have a choice of a Prius, he doesn't. He drives for profit, we drive for fun. BIG difference.

You can buy a truck for several reasons. If you're buying it for fun, ok. If you're buying it to tow/haul, telling people they should buy a prius instead is just ridiculous. My truck tows for "fun" (boat + travel trailer), you can bet I've done the math and MPG has entered the formula one way or the other. Don't know about you, but I've never tried pulling a 5w with a prius.

You totally missed the point. Prius was just the trigger word. Comparing the reason for a trucker that is getting MEYBE 7 mpg and trying to make a livin to what we drive is apples to oranges. Not even a comparable argument.

You’re exactly correct! The reason you bought the “truck” is because it could do what you wanted. If the cost of the MPG was too great you would have passed on the Ram (or any other truck). But, you didn’t because it was required to meet your needs and you were willing to accept the costs of towing your toys. Confusing your argument of towing/hauling for “fun” doesn’t enter the equation of towing/hauling for a living (Commercial).

Lol, it wasn't me that confused the argument. Of course fuel bill matters. Doesn't matter if you tow for fun or for work, everybody cringes when they fuel up unless you have money to burn. I bought my truck despite the gas bill. Doesn't mean I didn't include it in my calculations, and crunch the numbers to see if a more efficient engine (for example, diesel) would have been the cheaper cost of ownership.

The "prius" argument is completely nuts and is only pulled out when the dude arguing confuses being funny and dismissive with being correct.

The argument is the same, I don't know why this is hard for you: some people buy a truck because they need it, doesn't mean they don't look for more fuel efficient options and found none. Therefore saying, 'you should buy a prius instead' is stupid because the prius doesn't do the job.

Exactly could not have said it better myself I think he struggles to understand that alot of the people on this forum come to check out mod's for there truck's not to worry about gas mileage and if gas mileage was such a big deal then the ram is not the truck for that person

Actually it's you that is struggling here; you think that because you care about mods, the majority of truck owners therefore don't care about gas.

Here's the thing, goram: I bought my truck to work, not to play. It needs to haul my stuff, but gas is still important. If I can save a few extra MPG while using my truck, that is great news.

If you're going to buy a truck to mod it and make a fashion statement, it's much cheaper to buy a dress.

Well then I guess everyone who bought a Ram Rebel or TRX should have just bought a dress lol I am good I don't need to worry about money I use my truck for hauling and also fun if I was worried about gas mileage should have bought a Ford

I think that it all devolved from a simple question, (which is normal around most forums) about a 2022 facelift.
Remember the old kids game of telephone, where the first person whispers something in the next person's ear, and on down the line until the last person says what he/she heard? I think these forum discussions are something like that. We are all children and easily sidetracked and only repeat/attack what we THOUGHT we heard.

Because my opinion is better than everyone elses.... I would rather own a cybertruck performance model, and I did not vote, but if I did it would have been for Biden.

Well, if you didn't vote, then you got NOTHING to complain about, but then, what has that got to do with a facelift on the '22?
