No Longer Part Of The Club

Got an offer that was too good to refuse and sold my rig last night. Not sure if I'm going to stay in the Ram family for my next one or try out a different brand. It was a great truck for sure, so I may be back! Until then...

March..... May..... Both start with M, so close enough lol!

In what month did they first start producing the 5th gens?

IIRC, the first ones rolled off the line in May of 18.

JL Audio Rolling Out a Stealthbox for 5th Gen Ram 1500s!

I had a Stealth Box in my 05 2500 and it was awesome..... I'm sure this one will be as well!

    Spare tire not a Duratrac

Mines the same way. But, like I've said on other forums/conversations..... I kind of like that its different because it forces me to make the repair quickly and return the spare to the holder before I need it again. I am a horrible procrastinator, so this helps keep me motivated lol!

    20,000 mile checkup question

^^^^^ This. Never feel like you have to use only one dealer/service shop. There are indeed some really bad ones out there. But, there are also really good ones. If you have the ability to shop around, do it!

Jerky operation in 4x4 high range

If you are turning your wheel to full lock while in 4wd (which is never really ideal unless 100% required), yes, wheel hop is normal. I would recommend taking an off-road driving course to freshen up your 4wd abilities. Cheers!

    Interior lights?

I'm not convinced its a Level 2 thing. I have Level 2, and only the console light.

Who's thinking about their next truck?

I'm starting to look as well. Definitely happy with my Rebel, but as times change, so do my wheels. I'm going the opposite way as most though, and getting smaller. Had a 2500 for over 12 years when I got this 1500, now I'm looking at the Chevy Colorado (or similar). I hope that the Dakota...

    Interesting Talk w/ Service Manager

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get any new useful info. He just showed me the "deadline" of 6 trucks and said that FCA is shooting for a fix/update by April. Wish I had some better news.

    Interesting Talk w/ Service Manager

I just got off the phone with my service manager. (So far, this dude has shot me straight with other issues on my truck, so I have no reason to think he's feeding me a line) I have an appointment to get a new steering wheel on Friday morning, and I called him to see if I can get an update run on...

Whats the first car you drove/learned to drive on?

77 Cutlass 3 on the tree. That car was a tank! Actually wish I still had it some days when I'm around the "normal" Maryland drivers...

    Interior lights?

That's the only one I have. But, with the brightness of the 8.4, I haven't really seen the need for anything additional. Honestly, I find myself dimming the screen because it makes the interior too bright.

    2019 rebel e-locker

Does your manual really say you can get up to 40mph in 4 lo???? I'm asking because the hard copy I have does not. Also, I don't think the RPM's would allow that high of a speed in the low range. Interesting.

    2019 rebel e-locker

Yes, It should automatically disengage at around 15-20mph, then automatically re-engage once you drop back below that threshold. I wouldn't make it a habit of driving around locked up all the time, though lol.

Crew cab Back seat cover for dogs?

    Thank you, Sir!

I was going to drive one of these today but...

I've never had a problem selling my truck when it came time to get a new one. Most times its harder to convince me to get rid of the old one for a new one! If you're getting the truck to serve a purpose, resale value is the least of your concerns. If you're getting it to have a shiny new...

Crew cab Back seat cover for dogs?

James, where did you get that net? My 100 pound goober insists on trying to climb up with me when I'm driving and that looks like the perfect solution! -Tim

    Changing a tire

All great advice so far, so I'm going to add my .02.... Pay attention to the size of your spare and its wheel. It may or may not me the same as your primary tires and wheels. If its different, its not really a super big deal unless you are 1) waaaaayyy out in the boonies and its a long trip to...
