***NOT talking about coolant or trans temps***
I am reading stuff all over the place about oil temps when towing.
-TFL hit, i think it was 290 degrees towing up the Ike with their 3.92 Rebel.
-Another member, on this or another forum, hit over 294 and the trucks AC turned off and started...
I have towed the trailer 4 times now long distance. My latest tow was going up to Tahoe forest off 80 and Emigrant Gap exit. I “think” the grade was 6%. I stayed at 55 and made it up to 70 a few times to pass. The truck was towing the trailer in my first post of this thread, 60 gal water tank...
I decided to share the spread sheet I made for my truck based on its 1,505 lbs payload door sticker. Hopefully this will help someone else understand their trucks capabilities better.

the average hand calculated (big difference from display) is 15.4... the 16’ is 15.7...
Keep your 3.92. I have 3.21. The MPG is likely so small its not worth it. I wish i had 3.92s, but as i sat down to sign for a 3.92 truck a different dealer text me an offer 5k less but with 3.21s.
I hope to weight the truck with my family soon. We were ready to get along with our trip so I didn’t want to take the time to unhook the trailer. I do hope to run through a scale soon next time I take the family on a drive tho. I’ll be sure to update this thread
Someone posted the part number below as the cost likely has changed. I seem to recall it was a free download/update to computer as I had a 100 or 200 coupon for some reason. I want to say they wanted 180 otherwise. It’s def more money than just adding an aftermarket controller
I bought the OEM integrated trailer brake controller. installed myself (very easy). I then took truck to dealer and they updated computer to see the controller and now it appears on my screen.
I did a while back when leaving the dump. I recall having 1,100 lbs left over with me sitting in truck. That calculates to 6,000 lbs empty but with me (not the family tho) sitting in it. The trailers yellow sticker says 2265 lbs, its gvwr 7525.
Thank you for the compliment, im looking forward...

BDS owns Zone. BDS lifts are slightly better as they come with a better warranty. Looking at the pics between the two for our trucks, the components looks pretty much identical. The BDS May have bigger cross members tho and different rear shocks. I’d say go with BDS if you want their warranty...
I have a hitch motorcycle carrier, the main rail is steel and the cross member the bike sits on is aluminum. I used it off road in the desert carrying a 2001 cr250r dirt bike. It performed great. Crossing huge ruts/creeks it would drag on the ground due to the angles but it just scratched the...
Yeah the climate control system overall has been a HUGE disappointment. My AC reminds me of the 1980 bronco I was driving in 2006, the AC is about as good as one of those handheld water spray fan things.
the above test was done on manual mode. Auto mode seems to have the same issue tho.
