Finally got my clockspring replaced at the dealer today. Now all steering wheel functions are operating again, as well as the steering wheel heater.
Official diagnosis: "Found all steering wheel controls Inop. Found SCCM data not showing commands for steering wheel controls. Removed driver air...
I second that. Motor has a protective logic to prevent it from burning up against seizing. It will only tug momentarily before giving up. There are helpful videos for reviving completely seized boards. Hopefully, the OP's motor is fine.
Sounds like my Subaru Outback with the Nokians. These midsize AWD SUVs are awesome in such conditions, when properly shoed. I have a 200-yard dirt flat driveway which I almost never plow with my side-by-side. The Subaru plows through anything under 20 inches to get out, more if it's dry snow. If...
Totally agree. "Stopping Power" is key for winter driving, wet or dry.
Still, I like to layer up. I have both 4WD/AWD and snow tires on at least one of my vehicles. I also have both a propane furnace and a wood stove in my mountain home, and, when my self-imposed firearms embargo expires this...
I would... in 5,000 miles ;)
I put on the Fumoto F106SX and got a 3/8" ID clear tubing for future oil changes, to bypass the sway bar and the Skeerdy Cat shield.
This should answer some questions:

Seems practically possible only for 2WD.
What scares me about battery packs in general is their replacement cost AND labor. Still, that didn't stop me from getting an e-torque. It's battery is covered by the 8y/80k warranty (might be shorter for earlier models), and beyond that, it's not terribly expensive, and I can swap it myself...
If you sign up to My RAM at (Ram Customer Account Login Page | My Account | Ram Trucks), you'll have access to your truck's repair/maintenance history and can even add your own self-performed maintenance entries.
Might be useful for me when a warranty claim hits a snag, as I perform all my...
Just follow Hercule Poirot's car advice after every ride and you'll be fine:
1. Does it have the correct number of wheels?
2. Are those wheels firmly attached to the corners of the machine?
Seriously, a pothole with an attitude can split a rim in halves. Happened to my brother a few years...
On the RAM at least, e-torque has six different functions. Shutting it off will only disable the start/stop cycles. e-torque battery will always be needed, and it would cost over $2,000 to replace, I think. Edit: Good news is, I'm yet to see a thread here discussing a faulty e-torque battery...
Totally agree. I live in the mountains, and when I'm descending along twisty roads in snow packed/icy conditions, even in isolated patches, I wouldn't risk having 4WD Auto switching on/off at the wrong time.
Going up or on flat roads, I do favor 4WD Auto over 4WD Hi. I also use snow tires all...
The Mopar kick-out bed step is highly recommended for getting onto the bed to reach for things or organize loads... quick to deploy and fun to use. Thought it was a gimmick at first, but made itself useful plenty of times already.
