When you say "rf" I assume you mean RF Hub? Having gone through 2 RF Hubs, I can tell you DIYing the physical replacement part is easy. However you cannot program it to your keys yourself. You will have to go to the dealer to have that done. Also they always say they cannot guarantee that...
On a day when outside air temps are in the 80s or 90s and my truck is parked in the sun at work, my outside air temp will read in the high 90s up to 110 degrees F when I first start it. When I start driving it slowly recovers to near the correct outside temp. I would say within a couple of...
I have been using Mopar all purpose cleaner for years on my Limited. My dash did bubble less than a year in and was replaced. I decided not to use the cleaner any more on the dash after that. Even though there is no proof that the cleaner caused the issue. I do use it everywhere else...
Settings->General->Carplay
Both my Uconnect and my BMW show up here. They do have different settings available. The BMW is wireless carplay maybe that is why they are different.
FYI I have no recollection of ever having to go into these settings.
Not sure how the radio plays into this. If anyone knows please provide the info. I feel like you could remove the radio and the vehicle would still start normally. Am I wrong?
I don't usually pay attention to my digital volts before I start it. After it is running it goes immediately to 14.2-14.3. Then stays there on short trips (less than 20 miles). I have seen it drop into mid 12's on long trips. Assuming it is charged up and the system is regulating the voltage...
I'm pretty sure the remote start won't work if the battery voltage is below a certain level. Your battery is pretty much at end of life. Have you had it tested? You could just replace it and likely move on.
That is the classic symptoms of a failed or nearly failed RF Hub. The vast majority that fail is caused by water intrusion through the back window due to the very common leaking window seal. This can be intermittent and the vehicle may start and act normal all of a sudden. But trust me it...
Glad yours was covered. For many of us RAM did not cover the window or the consequential damage. My window leaked badly and killed my RF hub but my VIN was not included on this "recall" for some unknown reason that was not disputable.
Makes sense. Every car I have owned with keyless remote entry has NEVER had gremlin battery drain issues. And I have had plenty over the last 20+ years. No battery tenders, no putting key fobs into RF blocked bags or cases.
Get them replaced under warranty. They are 100% covered. I don't know why they don't just replace the motors and hinges. Maybe that is what they will do next. Especially if you "demand" it. I had the driver's one 2 weeks ago have the motor and a hinge go out. The fixed it under my extended...
I want to be able to identify with all this talk about key fobs in proximity to the vehicle draining the battery overnight. But I can't. I have always kept my spare fobs (I have 4, don't ask) within range of the truck and have not had this problem. I recently went on a 2 week vacation and...
My warranty is shown in my signature. I purchased it when I bought the vehicle new. It is managed by Assurant. It has been a good experience so far and I am glad I bought it. The boards are standard equipment on my trim level so the "gamble" was built in. I really like them and how they...
It is so hard to believe how much repairs cost at the dealership. My driver side power running board needed a motor and hinge replaced. It was grinding and vibrating badly when deploying and storing. So I disabled them and took it in for repair. I have the extended warranty that fully...
That is a serious drain to bring it down to 0.1 or 0.0 volts overnight. Something is intermittently not shutting down normally. Congrats to the dealer for figuring out your battery isn't the issue. Now they need to find the real issue. Good luck and I hope they can figure it out. Although...
