2021 ram limited showing wrong temperature

Had mine replaced, like many parts on this truck it made no difference . I stick my head out the window and take a guess it's more accurate that what the dash displays.

New to the conversation but have read all the comments. I replaced my sensor because it was reading about 40 degrees low. New sensor was great for about 2 weeks now, it constantly reads 10 degrees high. I’m now on sensor 3 and it’s still 10 degrees higher. It does not drop down at highway speeds. Both replacement sensors have been non Mopar. In addition to the inaccuracy F ing with my slight OCD, other systems are affected as I understand, seat warmers on start up, climate controls, fuel delivery, etc.

Mopar part is my next logical try. Any other suggestions?

Has no effect on fuel delivery. Other systems, yes

Have a 2025 Laramie. Same problem. Always no matter what, reads at least 10+ degrees higher than actual outside temp.
All other cars I've owned have always been much more accurate. The other day, it was about 65 degrees outside. Truck's display temp was 99. Seems that having the sensor inside the side mirror blocks the air too much, keeping it reading higher longer. Wish there was a workaround/fix since the temp reading does effect how well the interior climate control works.

Yeah, drive the truck. I've never had any issues with temp reading being off while driving.

On a day when outside air temps are in the 80s or 90s and my truck is parked in the sun at work, my outside air temp will read in the high 90s up to 110 degrees F when I first start it. When I start driving it slowly recovers to near the correct outside temp. I would say within a couple of miles. The slow recovery is expected because the SW uses a low pass filter on the temp. So it doesn't jump rapidly when the temp changes a lot quickly. Like when I leave my warm garage (70+) to a cool morning outside (50s).

The outside temp sensor is in the left side mirror IIRC. A black piece of plastic will absorb all the sun it can. So the thermometer reading is really high when you first start it up after sitting in the sun. After driving for awhile, it levels out

mines the same as yours. I replaced mine to but I bought a mopar sensor and it still reads 10 degrees high... asked dealer and they said this is normal! Annoying as all hell!
