I have 3.92's.. no dice there! but the circumference between my old tire setup and my new is either identical or nearly so, so it's only the weight difference in my case. Both are factory sizing so I didn't have to change the speedometer.
Right, that's very true. I destroyed my old trucks...
I will say anecdotally that I swapped in 22's on my Bighorn from the factory 20's, and my MPG has dropped. 1-2mpg estimated in both city/hwy. Both tires using road-focused all seasons, too. My 20's were still on the factory Bridgestone Duelers (pretty good tires IMO), new 22's are on Pirelli...
Dealer (thus far) not willing to help me out, and my truck is out of corrosion warranty (5 years), and of course, having got a quote from the dealership collision center, they want to replace the door for $2500.
We'll see - I had to leave a vm, but my hope is they're offer me some concession -...
Was going from the outside, looked quickly at the others, but it warrants a closer inspection this weekend.
I am going to give it a shot, try the ol' "i'm not mad, just disappointed". Expectations are low, but it's also (near as i can tell) one door, which would indicate something was not...
Has anyone else had this on their 5th gen? Truck is a 2019, bought in Fall of 2018, but only around 32k miles on it. It does live outside and I live in New England, so salt is a thing around here sometimes, depending on the town.
It seems to just be this door, the other 3 seem to be fine...
Haha i mean, you've had them a week, one would hope you haven't had any issues!
I think the question is long term; do they wear quickly? do they wear evenly (assuming periodic tire rotations)? Are they noisy as the mileage increases? And once they have some miles on them, how do they do in...
Feels like you're just making your replacement tank more expensive. :( You can get those parts i listed cheaper online, you could order them up and see if a smaller shop (ideally w/ a non-dealership level hourly billing rate) could do the install.
I've had no issues w/ fueling since the new...
Yea, you need a new tank and/or fuel vent. The fuel vent is likely the actual issue, but it's integrated into the tank in the 2019's (and a few other years too i think - but the replacement parts be separately serviceable).
I also had to have mine replaced for the same reason (also a 2019)...
Also, just incidentally, check your oil level. My truck developed a weird, vibrating idle not long after an oil change, and it turns out they'd just put in the new oil on top of the old, so i was running double the recommended capacity. Yowza. They fixed/admitted wrongdoing, refunded and gave...
If you have the 9-speaker mid tier system, it's unpin these 4 wires (one for each ANC mic) under the drivers seat. I upgraded the 6x9's in the door and the truck was undriveable due to thunderous speaker feedback. There are cleaner bypass cables you can use instead though, as mentioned.
That was my thought as well. Once I got the pricing sorted out for how long I expect to keep this truck, I had to weigh that against the cost of replacing broken items. My headers are still good (as far as i know) but thats likely to cover my cost immediately if that goes, for example. Same...
Yea, my local dealer did the inspection (has to be a Mopar dealership, btw). Granger sent me the checklist (2 pages, mostly visual inspections for leaks, aftermarket parts, etc) for the dealer to fill out, and take it on a short road test. Paid for an hours worth of labor ($180?! Sheesh.) and...
~$750 cheaper than the quote from chryslerfactoryplans dot com. :) I think there was a forums discount though, but still cheaper.
Yep, since all my warranties were expired, an inspection was needed (has to be done at a mopar dealer). Thankfully my truck passed with flying colors.
Finished my Granger extended purchase today - very happy w/ the price. $100 ded, 3 years/36k, around $1500 for my 2019 with 31k miles, maxcare. FAR cheaper than the other guys(tm). ;)
Here's an engineer-written article explaining some of the forces/effects (and his opinion) of the changes:
https://www.theautopian.com/our-suspension-engineer-tells-you-his-opinion-on-wheel-spacers/
Is an inspection required for an out of warranty / "used vehicle" plan? Not mentioned anywhere and just curious. Also - no code or anything needed for the '$25 over cost' option?
