Finished my Granger extended purchase today - very happy w/ the price. $100 ded, 3 years/36k, around $1500 for my 2019 with 31k miles, maxcare. FAR cheaper than the other guys(tm). ;)
Unless I’m reading something wrong… You just paid $1500 for a warranty that’s going to cover you for 5K miles.
MaxCare is from the In service date with 0 miles, it’s not an add on.
I take that back… you’re past the 3 year period. I think we’re missing something…

This is what I’m talking about, unless you have a contract that states otherwise

When Plan Coverage Starts And Ends

Plan coverage continues for the length of time and mileage you select. All time and mileage specifications are from the warranty start date (the original in-service date of the vehicle) and 0 miles. Plan expiration is specified in you Plans Provisions. Car rental coverage starts on the day you purchase the plan and covers those repair instances when a replacement vehicle is not otherwise provided.

you are in fact reading it WRONG! He's purchasing a MaxCare on a USED vehicle at this point. Noting, 2019, @ 31K miles.
Used plans start at contract date, not in service date.... So, its actually what it is. MaxCare on a used vehicle most certainly an "add-on" so, he's getting a 3 year/36K MaxCare with $100 deductible for what he said was $1500. He also had to pay for a vehicle inspecting, before it could be covered (OP did not state who did the inspection, certainly wasn't Granger) noting it was a 2019.

I am still curious how Granger was selling this plan ~ ~ $750 below the next closest competitor (as their plans are $25-50 within each other to start with).

Did not know you could get Max Care on used vehicles as an add on. I stand corrected, elegantly as always.
I did know you can get Added Care Plus and Powertrain Care Plus as an add on.
To be clear…you can buy the Max Care warranty on any Chrysler product up to 3 years/36,000 miles after the in service date with no inspection.
At that point, it’s still a USED vehicle, correct?
So, it looks like after those thresholds are passed max care can be added on, And based on the calculators out there it’s just splitting the difference of time/mileage since in service as if you were to buy it new.

Good call Fantasi.

He did say there is a forums discount. Before I bought mine, agree… with the forum discount, all the plans online were within $50 of each other.

Yea, my local dealer did the inspection (has to be a Mopar dealership, btw). Granger sent me the checklist (2 pages, mostly visual inspections for leaks, aftermarket parts, etc) for the dealer to fill out, and take it on a short road test. Paid for an hours worth of labor ($180?! Sheesh.) and it had a clean bill of health. The inspection would have been required through Zeigler as well, per their quote system, so that's likely what you could call a fixed cost.

As to how they're selling it, i guess if the math is right, Zeigler is making quite a bit more money than this special through Granger. Granger doesn't have an online quote system for trucks over a certain age either, so I was emailing back and forth with their office for a while.

Yes, it's effectively treated as adding Maxcare to a used vehicle - which is true, given my in-service date and mileage, it certainly is that. When I was talking to my dealer during pickup/payment, he said the MOPAR factory care can actually be added to any vehicle? I can't vouch for that, but that's what he said. So in that case it really is a case of 'used vehicle', but their may be a preference granted for MOPAR products, or at least a large database of vehicles/repair cost tiers. I don't think i'm getting a maxcare for 3 years on my BMW for $1500 :)

And IIRC the Zeigler forums discount is $250, which still puts it quite a ways up from Granger. But they are probably much closer once the Granger special is done.

Thank you sir for clarification.
When my wife and I purchased new vehicles back in 2015, we both got Max Care unlimited miles at $2500, going rate back then as I recall.
We purchased them from the dealer as they matched what I found online.

Now, 8/125 is the max you can do, or 7/unlimited last I checked.

I knew you could buy warranties after the fact, but did not know you could buy Max Care so late in the game.
That’s good to know…and appreciated. I already made the tip for 8/125 on my RAM. That’ll cover how long I plan to own/drive it. Still in the air on my wife’s GC. She doesn’t drive much BUT she has all the fancy, electric gadgets and air ride… so getting something for sure.

Thanks again.

That was my thought as well. Once I got the pricing sorted out for how long I expect to keep this truck, I had to weigh that against the cost of replacing broken items. My headers are still good (as far as i know) but thats likely to cover my cost immediately if that goes, for example. Same with my 8.4" screen etc.. maybe it'll be fine the whole time, but I'll sleep a little better knowing I don't need to worry about it.

What really got my wheels turning on it was having to replace my fuel tank. Sigh. Oh well.

Amen. That’s a little price for a lot of piece of mind.
I paid 2500 for it on my 2015. I easily had 3-4 times that fixed under warranty over the 8 years and 140K I drove it.
A few rental car coverages as well.

The Zeigler discount is $365, but seems like you got a better price (Still wondering how, since they're always within $50 of each other).

Stick to the thread topic and enough with the childish bickering.

Members are welcome regardless of what brand they're driving.

I was alerted that there was a price hike coming April 4th. Now might be a great time to purchase if you've been on the fence. There have been several price hikes from Stellantis recently, and i'm sure they're not going to stop.
