    Mountain Hatch first impressions...

I really just wanted a flat tailgate for the times I kneel to climb in the back and for camping. Those grooves (you know what I mean) crush my knees. Might have had a bourbon or two when I added it to the cart….

    Mountain Hatch first impressions...

I ordered mine a few months ago (10/10/22). After 2 months I emailed them twice, after the first email went unanswered. It looks like the cover for the Tacoma is a replacement piece. The Ram model sits on top of the existing tailgate cover.

    Tailgate cover for bikes

How many bikes are you looking to transport? I just bought a fork mount (like $30) and screwed it into a piece of 2x4 cut to the width of the bed. Nothing slides and when I’m not riding I just take the 2x4 out.

What did you do to your Ram today???

Started installing Baja Designs fog light kit (S2s). Got the passenger side done then had to pick the kiddo up from school. Went with amber outer and clear inner light…looks pretty good imo.

    Mountain Hatch first impressions...

So I received my Mountain Hatch tailgate cover and put it on tonight. Here are some preliminary thoughts: 1. I wish I had paid more attention to the photos before I purchased it. I didn't realize how much border was left from the original tailgate. 2. The bolts don't sit flush (albeit close)...

Wrangler DuraTrac is the worst tire I've ever driven on in rain

That’s the opposite experience I’ve had. The stockers on my ‘12 2500 and ‘06 1500 were the absolute worst. I was happy with the Duratracs before I swapped them out.

    Gas mileage

35" Trail Grapplers, 2.5" lift, extra weight from camper shell/skid/sliders/box and averaging around 12.5 mpg...Meh, I don't commute and I love the truck. I've noticed a 1mpg drop (16-15mpg) just from going from 65-70mph.

    Overheating the 4x4 system

Only time I had the overheating warning show up was when I sunk my truck to the frame rails in snow and was spinning the tires. Once I got the truck pulled out, no issues for the rest of the trip, which consisted of 4x4 low, rear locker engaged for the whole day. Otherwise, I haven't had any...

Replacing tires this year.... What did you choose??

I went with Nitto Trail Grapplers. I don't put many miles on per year and wanted a capable tire for varied conditions. I've had some variation of Nittos on 3 Rams and have never had a problem with the brand.

Carli Performance with Timber Grove airbags

I ordered the Carli "Rebel" springs, but who knows when they will actually ship. That should solve the 1" issue. Timber Groves are still sitting in my garage uninstalled.

    Heated seats not very warm.

I have a '21 Rebel (leather) and the driver seat definitely doesn't get as hot as my '12 Ram 2500. I always run it on high. The steering wheel however does get hot, which I like.

    BAK MX4 vs X4s

I can only speak to the MX4, as I have owned two now. Like someone previously stated, keeps out 99% of water (just some edge drip), has good load tolerance on top, and looks good. Only thing I had to replace in 5 years was some of the rivets popped off after a spirited load, BUT the repair was...
