The strut in the front and the spring in the back is what achieves the lift. And yup the mopar kit is a waste for our trucks.
Yeah that would be a total waste. I was under the impression it was the spring that did it in the front and back. If that's the case anyone with the offroad package has to wait for larger lifts, or stick with just a leveling kit.

Greetings Ladies and Gents!
Add one more 4x4 Off-road package to the pack.
I'm also trying to determine how the 1" factory lift that this option provides affects aftermarket lifts and leveling kits. I've put together a list of what I can gather by looking at the truck suspension and by taping into the plethora of information on the forum. Some accurate, some not.

This is what I believe to be true.
The 4x4 off-road package (same as the non-air Rebel) suspension comes with a one inch lift achieved by a longer strut on the front and a longer spring on the rear. If this is correct, then any kit that lifts the front by adding a strut extender and/or by adding a preload strut spacer, the advertised lift will be in addition to the 1"
lift. Similarly, any kit that achieves a lift on the rear by adding a spacer on top of the spring, the advertised lift will also be in addition to the 1" lift.

Conversely, any kit that replaces the front strut to achieve part of the lift will ultimately wipe out the 1" lift from the factory 4x4 off-road package. The 2" Mopar lift falls into this category. For the rear, any lift that replaces the spring will wipe out the 1" lift.

Please chime in with additional information or to point out inaccuracies.

Assuming the above is accurate, the one question that I have is wether or not the 4x4 off-road package includes the upper A arm that is included with the 2" Mopar lift?

Finally! Thank you... This is exactly what I was thinking when I started this thread. Now that you have confirmed how the 1" lift is achieved, it makes sense the official Mopar website states the 2" kit is not compatible with Rebel trim levels. Now the new, more important question. Does the ORP come with the UCA's included in the 2" Mopar lift?

I've been saying how the 1" is achieved lol. And no they are not the same ucas included in the mopar lift. These arms are the same as my buddies long horn non orp

Sorry for the resurrection, but I just happen to be researching lifting my truck (like crazy), perhaps leveling it, possibly adding the ORG components, etc - and I came across a find today (while researching speaker polarities, lol). My local dealership has installed a few lift kits, and had some of the oem shocks and struts laying around. So I got the tape measure out and it looks like the ORG REAR shocks are almost 1.5" longer than the regular shocks when at rest. They only had one set of ORG, but both of them came to rest at the same +1.5". I also measured the struts, and the ORG struts are ~1" longer - the bodies and perch look to be the same size and place, the piston rod is just ~1" longer when it comes to rest.

Edited my post to remove part numbers since I'm still researching all variations.

Edited my post as since I have done more research, the stock and ORP front shocks are the SAME height as I have been able to compare to several now. The one I original compared to must have been bad or compressed for some other reason.

This does not apply to the Rebel. The Rebel has different part numbers, and potentially a different setup up front. The Rebel does not have the "ORP", it has it's own setup.

Here's an addendum with part numbers that I have gathered up. I have confirmed that the ORP rear shock is 1" taller/longer than normal, the rear ORP spring is taller/longer, and the ORP front shocks are the same exact size as normal. What I haven't verified (but highly suspect) is that the ORP front springs are also taller/longer because they are different part numbers like all the others, though they could potentially have different spring rates which would also create lift. I'm know the springs do the lift both front and back, and the shocks support the lift by having appropriate centering for proper travel and response (and that's it). Both front and rear are easily compressed by body weight so I know the shocks don't have enough ability on their own to produce any lift, and I have confirmed that the front shocks are the same height. I already have the ORP shocks and struts and rear springs in my garage, just waiting on my ORP front springs to ship to me.

Summary Findings:
The front are shocks, not struts (though I catch myself calling them struts at times) - they are just coil-over shocks.
The front ORP shocks are the same dimensions as the non-ORP in all ways. They do not contribute to the 1" lift.
The front springs cause the 1" lift.
The rear ORP shocks are ~1" longer than the non-ORP.
The rear ORP shocks do not contribute to the lift.
The rear ORP springs are about ~1.25" taller than the non-ORP.
The rear springs cause the 1" lift.

These are the numbers I have gathered (use at your own risk! Recommend you still use your VIN at your local dealership to at least validate):

Off Road Package (4x4, 5.7L, Crew Cab, 5'7" bed, non-air suspension):
Front Spring - 68320249AB
Front Shock/Strut - 68277314AC (This part number is on the strut from the factory but not in any system, retail crossover looks to be 68404037AD)
Rear Spring - 68262684AB (or 68262686AB)
(I cannot figure out why there are two part numbers that people have used - up to this point I have only been able to verify 68262684AB for myself, though another member used 68262686AB sucessfully)
Rear Shock - 68262592AC

Non-ORP "regular" (4x4, 5.7L, Crew Cab, 5'7" bed, non-air suspension):
Front Spring - 68320236AB
Front Shock/strut - 68277312AC (This part number is on the strut from the factory but not in any system, retail crossover looks to be 68404036AD)
Rear Spring - 68262675AB
Rear Shock - 68262590AC

Will continue my research.

ORP (green) and non-ORP (red) front shocks - same body length, same perch location, same overall length. Both easily compressed with body-weight.

In regards to one of the original themes of this thread, are we sure that if you add the Mopar lift to an ORP, you only get 2"? I combed through and couldn't find an actual instance.

I can say for a fact (well, strong opinion) that if you add it to a ORP, you will get 3" in the rear, because you'll be adding a 2" spacer to a spring that is already lifting the truck 1". Hahny on here installed an ORP in the rear of a non-ORP truck and got the ORP lift (with no shock change). And based on what I've found lately, I do believe the ORP front spring is causing the lift in the front (or at least heavily participating). As well, by looking at the Fox struts, it looks like their spring perch shelf is at least 1" higher than the standard location on the stock struts (which might be part [or all] of the lift when paired with a regular spring). It would seem that if you add that fox strut to an ORP spring, you'd get more than the Mopar 2" lift.

I've been waiting for this info! Thanks a bunch rsonedecker. Unfortunately I can't find the ORG Front Shock/Strut in stock anywhere!

My guess is they haven't been released to retail inventory yet (have you tried your local dealer?). I found mine as a new pull from a dealership that had done a lift on an ORP truck on their lot. Watch ebay. I'm anxious to get the spring in and confirm some of my assumptions. You know what they say, don't assume...cause it makes an a$$ out of u and me....which is why I instead "come to assumptions", because it takes "me" out of the picture.

I just edited my post above with what I believe the cross-reference retail part number is for the front struts. For whatever reason, the front strut numbers that are actually printed on the struts are not in any system, but my local dealership looked up the corresponding parts using VINs on their lot to get what the part numbers are in the ordering system.

This information is highly appreciated. My goal is to get the rear up 1” and the front up 1.5”. The initial plan was to wait for 5100s for all 4 corners, but now I may just try the ORG rear springs. I have a lean tilted towards the driver side, I’m thinking new springs should fix that. Is there a 1.5” front spacer out there anywhere? I haven’t been able to find one.

I believe MotoFab starts them at 1.5"

I don't think I've ever seen a 1.5" top-hat spacer. Just by looking at the fitment of the 2" top-hats (see pic below of RL 2"), the stock strut mount's studs are almost even with the mounting plane of the top-hat spacer - with a thinner top-hat that would produce only 1.5" lift, those bolts would probably be too tall and protrude too much. A 1.5" lift top-hat would probably require trimming the stock studs. And since most trucks still have a rake with 2" lift, I don't see 1.5" being that marketable.

Curious of two questions-
1) why only 1.5" in front, especially if you want to bring the back up 1". Unless you have some very unusual rake, I don't think you'd be able to tell the difference between a 2"/1" compared to a 1.5"/1".
2) Have you addressed the lean with the dealership to see if they could find what the issue is (springs/bad valving in the shocks, etc)? I would be hesitant to assume its only spring related. You could go and replace all the springs only to find out you have a bad shock or some other misalignment. It's possible they could find a bad part and replace under warranty, get rid of the lean, and then you know the lift you do will not still have the lean.

Sorry the 1.5" is for the rear. You could try the Readylift spacer. Many people have said it only raises it 1.5" even though it is marketed as 2" lift. I put it in mine but didn't measure before and after.

My factory rake is only 1.75” which seems to be less than most folks. Also, after bringing it up I would like to keep a good inch to 1.5” rake. I prefer that look. I have asked the dealer to address, they said let the suspension settle, bring it in for your first oil change. I hit 5k this weekend and my oil change is scheduled for tomorrow morning. I’ve reminded the service department already of my issues. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

An addition to this thread discussion would be the recent postings I've been reading where ORP (or is it ORG? lol...) owners are NOT seeing any lift in their trucks over the non-ORP, and apparently measuring appropriately. I myself have never measured (assumed when the build sheet says it and the Package says it has it, that it does), but I have noticed that both the ORP trucks and North Editions sit higher. Just when I was out getting part numbers the other day, two big horns parked next to each other on the lot, one ORP and one not, the ORP was taller visually. But yet there seem to be some ORP owners that are not seeing a 1" lift.

I’ve only seen one forum member mention that issue, and he’s questioning his build; his build sheet does NOT indicate raised ride height.

There are a couple people now on that thread, so it’s interesting. And while he doesn’t have the “Raised Ride Height” on his build, he does have the ORP and all the other stuff, so that’s strange.

I didn’t catch that his build sheet called out Off Road Group. If so, that’s a miss on FCA’s part.
