My 22s oil pan is already rusting and leaking. Anyone else have this happen? I've lived in the rust belt most of my life and the only oil pan I've ever had to change was on a 91 crown vic and that thing was 13yrs old with 200k on it. Are these just POSs on these new vehicles? Has anyone had luck finding an aluminum pan? I don't really wanna change this out every 4yrs.

Couple of threads on this, dealership might help you out

Why are you not using some protection?
The truck is undercoated and like I said above I've only ever had to change one oil pan in my life and that was on 12yr old Ford with 200k on it. I've had multiple vehicles with 230 thousand miles on them that were 15yrs old and the pans never rusted out. This vehicle is 4yrs old

Thanks, I've looked through those before it supposedly seemed limited to 19s. It's going to the dealer on Thursday we'll see what happens.

He didn't say anything about undercoating, so you didn't miss anything.

@RamCares can you help?

Hi there, feel free to send our team a private message for an extra layer of assistance alongside the dealer.

This is another reason I just traded my 2019 Rebel. 7 year old truck and the oil pan just got worse, and worse, every single year. I asked my dealer and they said unless it's leaking, we can't warranty it. With my warranty being up in 6 months, I chose to not take my chances.

The replacement is not easy. A gentleman did it on here and supposedly you have to drop the front axle, unbolt motor mounts, then jack the motor up to get the pan off.

Good luck, really hope Ram steps up and does the right thing.

The 7.3 ford diesel was worse, have to pull the engine to change the pan, they rusted too.

I don't blame you I've been thinking about trading it in as well. What'd you trade it in for?

My 02 Subaru Outback, you had pull the engine to replace the head gaskets. Those engines were known to blow head gaskets and Subaru did nothing to help you. I ended up doing that job myself. That was the last time I pulled a motor and dropped it back in after repairs.
