Not looking for "bark" at all. I'm looking for a certain sound. My previous 2019 ram had just the Borla muffler installed and the sound was spot on to me. I decided on this truck I'd go full catback and for the cost, I did a MF system. Again, it sounds great and all, just not the sound I want. Call it a difference in muffler sounds. I'm not looking for louder or anything, just a certain sound. I'm hoping the Borla provides that. I'm sure it will. If not, I'm out a grand for test purposes LOL! Kidding aside, i just think this is a better sounding system over MF. I'll have more concrete info in time.
You and Porboy are now in competition for top spot as "most exhaust systems installed on a 19 Hemi Ram in a 6 month period." I think current count for Porboy is at 4 if my math is correct.

No pun intended but more power to you as you shouldn't settle until you find what works for you. Keep us posted!!

Jeeze, I think I've researched every post about Borla's Touring vs S type exhaust. I also own a '15 Corvette, love the factory performance exhaust, it has a touring mode and a sport mode. I leave it in the sport mode all the time. It has the sound I'm looking for on my '19 Limited. I'm looking for a more aggressive sound than the lame stock system but I don't want to sound like a notch below straight headers...LOL.

I was set to pull the trigger on the S type until I read more posts on how loud the touring is. Guess my question is:

Those that have bought the touring system for their trucks, is this your first experience with changing out the stock exhaust to a cat back system?

If this was, then that would explain your surprise at the sound. I'm used to a throaty sound at idle and even more at WOT. I just don't think the touring is what I'm looking for? I don't want to be disappointed...

Your input is highly welcomed....

Not sure what exactly you're looking for. Catbacks are not new to me, done it on every truck I've owned and sadly, I've owned a ton! Almost every year RAM since 2008, sadly. Be that as it may be, for a "catback" the Magnaflow cant be beat for overall sound and not overly loud. I switched mine to the Borla Touring and while it sounds so much meaner and all, it's ****ing loud too. So much I'm considering either pulling it or finding a resonator. Love the sound don't get me wrong, but my lord it's just loud. I can't imagine what the S type and ATAK would sound like. Once warmed up it does quiet down a bit, but under acceleration (Not WOT) you'll know it's there. My previous truck had a Borla muffler ONLY and the sound was pretty damn close to perfect IMO. Too bad I went catback this time.

The Magnaflow cat back seems to be the safest choice as I love it on my Rebel. It has deep authoritative start up sound (that people notice) that mellows (at warm up idle) and you will hear it inside like distant thunderstorm with any acceleration. Very well made and big and long 5" double wall tips. When you stomp it hard, you will definitely hear the Hemi growl/roar like you're at the drag strip (especially if you open windows). When you level off speed it can be very quiet for cruising with the low RPM's, almost as quiet as stock on highway. The MDS and ECO will cause an odd short lived (low volume) groan as it switches mode for fuel saving 4 cylinder operation. You have total control of exhaust sound volume with accelerator pedal. No drone at all and the radio at level 6 will cover over light acceleration exhaust sound with windows up. We had recent 250 mile round trip from Portland,Oregon to Oregon coast with wives in back seat and guys up front. The coastal mountains are 3500 feet or so and we visited the entire trip. I asked everyone if exhaust was too loud for conversation and everyone said it was just fine and hardly noticeable most of time. I had a Borla cat back side outlet system on a 1997 Ford F150 with 5.4 Triton engine and I loved it as it was very drone free and not barky. It did reduce low end torque some but that was 22 years ago! Now I am sure the engineering is light years ahead of then. I'm just not a fan of the bark that I hear on internet videos of today's Borla systems. Ever heard a Ram Cummins diesel with straight pipe exhaust? It is irritating to listen to under power. Just my 2 cents....all these systems are quality and it is personal taste as to sound preferred.

I just installed the s-type on my truck and I would not go any less. First few drives it was pretty loud but I seems to have settled down. Sounds awesome

I've been researching resonators but haven't found one. Amazon has one by vibrant but never heard of them. Borla is a month out. I've thought about cutting the factory is off and having them fabricated in but looking at the exhaust I can't see a way for that to work either. So idk

Well, I made the decision to go with a Borla Touring Cat-back system. Installed it last Thursday

My first impressions.....AWESOME SOUND! I love it, couldn't be happier! I do believe any sound is subjective and you really can't make a judgement based on a video. It is a gamble, for me it paid off nicely.

Thanks to all for your input and comments. Now on to the next mod, a bed cover. I'm scouring all the posts now.....LOL

I miss both of my Borla exhausts, but passing them on kept my wife happy.

ironically i'm thinking of going back to stock (but with a Borla muffler)...just still a tad loud for me. But its a $$grand$$ sitting on the truck, not sure what I'd get for it and I already know shipping is $150 easily (been there, done that). But yeah, considering pulling it.

I installed the Borla Atak on my 2019 Ram limitied and it is loud as hell! This is my third Borla system and it is the loudest with this truck! Installation was about 1 and a half hours. Most have said it sounds like a hellcat!
Can you post a video of it? I really want to see how loud the Atak is. I want that good rumble noise.

if you want less noise but don't want to do stock?
The magnaflow system is VERY mellow.

I'm a borla fanboy, I LOVED the sound of the XR1 I had on my 4th Gen rebel.
BUT, I wanted something different this time, little less noise.
The magnaflow is that.
It's a tad too quiet some days, but overall a good system IMHO.

Consider a magnaflow system if you want less noise but want aftermarket exhaust, though I haven't heard one next to a borla touring.

I love my Magnaflow cat back on my red/black Rebel! If you want more rumble, drive in tow/haul mode as each gear winds up more rpms before shifting even if you drive it easy. It mimics the shift points that most people would shift a manual transmission at. Give throttle a heavy push and you know its a hemi!!!

My borla will be up for sale soon....just FYI. And no, I do not want to ship as I've done that before and it hurts the wallet!

Already had the MF system. Wasn't my cup of tea.

I’m stuck on Borla S-Type or Atak. I’m scared the Atak would be too loud. But I read somewhere on here that Borla is coming out with a resonator that will bring it down to the less model.

get with Porboy he can tell you all about it. To me even the touring is too loud. And the resonator isn't released yet.
