New UConnect 5 12" Install - Backup Camera Problems

I had/have both of these issues. Making sure the vehicle year in the BCM was appropriately changed back to the year of manufacture (2019 for me) solved my backup guidelines issue. I just realized yesterday after reading another forum that I no longer have the “hitch camera” and haven’t figured that one out yet. Hope this helps.
OK, I have also installed a 12 inch from an 8.4 and have the same issue. So how do i set my vehicle to 2019 like you did? I do not mind the zoom not being there.

Alfaobd or JScan.
VehConfig 1: Model Year

This corrected the backup camera lines. I still haven’t figured out how to fix the zoom for the hitch camera, but I get by well enough without it.

Thank you ill try that and see what happens.

Hello, I have tried this and it seems it did not work.
i did the following
1. Changed the year to 2022
2. Rebooted the radio Twice by a soft reset (Power button and turning volume)
Again I have a 2019 Laramie and I have upgraded from a 8.4 UC4 into a 12 inch UC5 and everything is working great other than the reverse lines resetting. any help is appreciated.

Change the year to 2019, the year your truck was manufactured.

Go into the alfaobd settings and check the box for do not verify ECU.

When you connect to the body computer, choose DT 2022+ powernet.

Set VehConfig 1 Model Year back to 2022.

Change Radio & Connectivity Head Unit Screen Size to R1 12.3’ 1920x720.

After that, reboot the radio twice in a row by pressing and holding the power button on the left radio knob for 15 seconds.

Set the gridlines to dynamic, and verify they work, then make sure to shut truck off and restart and check again to make sure they stay.

I just installed the 12" UConnect 5 system coming from a 8.4 UConnect 4 Non-Nav, and there are a couple of issues I have been having with the Rear Backup Camera.

  • Whenever the truck goes to sleep and restarts, the "ParkView Backup Camera Active Guidelines" option de-selects - on every restart
  • I do not have the Zoom button for the "Hitch Camera" when I'm in reverse
I tried to factory reset the radio, and I even went to AlfaOBD to find that the settings are correct in the BCM, but the radio seems to ignore the setting completely. The BCM is set to Model Year 2022 to enable the 12" UConnect, but as a troubleshooting step (I remembered that the MFG date of the module I got for the UC5 Module is 2024) I set it to 2024, with no change. If it makes any difference, when I auto-connect with AlfaOBD, it selects "DT MY2019 PowerNet Var.3".

This really wouldn't be that big of a problem if I wouldn't depend on the lines to back in literally anywhere, but that's why I'm asking.

Anyone have any ideas/troubleshooting steps I could try?
Did you fix your issue i just did the swap and im having the same issue

If you read through this thread, I explained the solution twice in this thread- once in the post I made just yesterday, right above your post. Did you perform those steps in alfaobd?
