Agreed. I didn't dispute the fact that there are likely hundreds of thousands of etorque trucks that haven't had issues with that system. But that is little comfort to anyone who has had a failure with the system and they're waiting for weeks for a replacement part, even if it's only one or two percent of etorque owners. When you're the one with the issue, it's 100% failure rate for you.
I suspect there would be a lot fewer people who have issues with the system if Ram hadn't been offering the Hemi with and without for so many years. Just my opinion. If all 5th gens with the hemi would have been etorque from the start, I suspect we wouldn't be having this conversation.
I completely get that and I've stated as such to the few that have had to have a new HEMI at less than 10K miles and waited months. Everything is an obscure stat until you become part of that stat, happened to me when an indian ran a flashing yellow hitting me and 2 other doing 20K damage to my then pristine no issue limited. I said it then when I became part of that statistic (long shop times) and my truck is still in the shop for the 3rd month. It sucks but that's life
