2026 HEMI or Hurricane?

I'm not sure that right, at least about the suspension. My understanding is that the RHO has the same suspension as the TRX. I attributed it more to the fact that the Hellcat engine is heavier than the HO Hurricane, affecting payload, which directly affects tow capacity.

Correct, total weight, the TRX engine is heavier than the RHO engine, being that's the main difference between them, should account for the difference in towing.

The suspension I'm taking about is the RHO, TRX, and Raptors are so much lower than their regular 1500s is because of the suspension.

How does its suspension greatly redu e how much it can tow? The weight is not in the truck. Its on axles behind it

Not sure, but that's what it is. I would Google why that is yourself.

Even the HD trucks, like the RAM 2500 Powerwagon 6.4l vs a regular RAM 2500 6.4l, it goes from over 17,000 lbs to only 9500 lbs on the Power Wagon, mostly due to the suspension setup. Both weight and drivetrain are nearly identical.

I completely get that and I've stated as such to the few that have had to have a new HEMI at less than 10K miles and waited months. Everything is an obscure stat until you become part of that stat, happened to me when an indian ran a flashing yellow hitting me and 2 other doing 20K damage to my then pristine no issue limited. I said it then when I became part of that statistic (long shop times) and my truck is still in the shop for the 3rd month. It sucks but that's life
Wow. An Indian hit you? What happened to his horse ? Hopefully his feathered head dress and beads didn’t get damaged ! 🤣🤣🤣 🤔🤔

i checked out a while ago. the guy was asking for advise and it devolved into a debate. it's all about what ya plan to do and if your buying or keeping the truck long term or leasing it, if your gonna only keep it for 2 or 3 years get the hurricane as long as you have a warrantee it's great. if you are gonna keep it for over 100k mi i suggest you get the hemi. forget about the spray on lining that makes the hurricane throw away motors the repair bill out of warrantee is going to be substantial on the hurricane but i suppose it will be on a hemi also but less to go wrong. i was a dealership mechanic so i think i know enough to be dangerous on the repair subject and i promise you if you want a good truck that you plan to keep for a LONG time get a hemi preferably non et so that means a low mileage used truck. that's it i'm checking back out and un-watching this thread.

Since you went there, he meant dot not feather.

Yeah, duh, I was being sarcastic! in case you missed it, who gives a crap what ethnicity the person was that hit your truck! If it were a redneck from Texas should he have said “a white guy hit my truck”? He obviously has a problem with Indians—— the kind from “India” 🙄🙄

Yes, I’m Indian - FROM INDIA. And I have a sense of humor!!!

Okay, so I fully expect a call from the principal, I mean moderator to tell me I’m in trouble for telling the truth.

Obviously you were being sarcastic. And I was adding levity in case you missed it. I have no idea what your ethnicity is, nor do I care. We're all truck people. I agree, it doesn't matter what ethnicity the person that hits your truck is. If it's their fault they're just a dumba$$. :D

Completely agree..put 250k plus on three hemis...waiting for a turbo i6 pulling heavy trailers like mine to do that..then I ll be convinced

I have a problem in general with people who drive with no courtesy or respect for US traffic laws, I don't particularly care the ethnicity but the growing trend in my area has been indians from india. I was walking my dog this morning and an indian ran a 4 way stop sign at a cross-walk with 2 cars already at the stop sign and me in the cross walk almost hitting me and my dog. He stopped in the middle of the cross walk after I yelled at him and pointed at the stop sign. After I cleared the cross walk, he continued to run the stop sign not yielding to the cars all ready there.
I dont have a problem with indians, I have a problem with :poop: drivers.

This particular indian was driving with no insurance or at least geico claims she was an excluded driver on a valid policy. She caused 20K+ in damage to my truck alone and hit 2 other cars

Looks relatively minor but the rear axle housing is bent, the axle was bent, the driver side rear brake caliper was bent the, track bar was bent, they had to replace one wheel, front bumper, front fender, filler panels and straighten the rear lower portion of the bed and rear bumper then repaint.

I disagree, nothing wrong with plasma-transferred wire arc (PTWA), ford uses it on the 5.0 and has for years without cylinder wall failures. As for not being able to rebuild, yes they are. Texas Speed has been sleeving 5.0's for years, my LS is darton sleeved and if you ever got to the point of needing rebuild a hurricane, you could sleeve it as its a closed deck block. That said, I've not see a lot or any posts of people rebuilding a 5.7 vs buying a new/replacement engine so I don't know how valid that concern really is. There's hurricanes that have 100k miles already with the owners reporting no issues but given the warranty status now, its pointless to worry about it.

You don’t get it bro, and you keep digging a deeper ditch. It’s obvious you don’t like Indians otherwise you wouldn’t double down and write **** like this….. “the growing trend in my area has been indians from india”.

Then you go on to say……”This particular indian was driving with no insurance or at least geico”

So just stop, your sounding like a racist.

Facts aren't racist, they're just facts. The fact that you take it that way is on you. I'm in a Tungsten now because of that fact and I explained how that came to be which is how I gained the insight on the SO, HO as well as the HEMI. You don't like it, IDC, you're then one that came in here making dumb jokes that blew up on in your face and notice, the you're the only person that throughout this thread, focused on that fact, yes, fact.

I have a dash cam in both trucks which have captured a myriad of :poop: drivers that I can post but that's another thread so if you have nothing on SO vs HO vs HEMI, alfa mike foxtrot.
That's Apache if you didn't know and I'm Apache Chief, don't make me say it.

The first half of your first sentence is spot on (you could have stopped there IMO). If anything it's a problem with how easy it is to get a driver's license in most states. The testing is a joke. It's too easy to get a passing grade. I've seen how people drive in other countries. Often there's no respect for traffic signals, signs, or even lanes of travel. They bring their bad habits here and there's nothing really forcing them to change their driving habits. At the very least they could require people immigrating from other countries to attend a driver's education class. I worked with people from other countries a lot before I retired. Many of them had no business behind the wheel.

100%, I don't know when the laws change but I know they did change. You no longer have to go to the dmv, at least in texas, to take both the written test and the driver's test. You can go to a driving school and from what friends of mine have told me pay $300 and get a certificate saying that you can drive, turn that into the state of Texas and they give you a license..

The police officer that worked my accident said exactly the same thing, these people have no business driving.
Simply put, there's too many people on the road without a concern for the other person, they just do whatever they want to do and good luck to everybody else.
Yet we wonder why insurance rates are skyrocketing....

I will say this, the weather has changed in north texas, it was 33° this morning and around 50° this afternoon. The hurricane definitely likes the cooler temps and is more responsive than the HEMI in the same weather

**Edited - toned down a bit!

Then you should not have posted the crap you said about "I was hit by an Indian". Who the hell cares about who hit you?
You opened the can of worms.

The problem is our BS system of giving driver's licenses to anyone (regardless of state, country, etc.) that do not qualify to drive a donkey!
