Spends too much time on here
And their June 8th announcement is that Ram is back in the NASCAR Truck Series
say it louder for the people in the backLet’s be honest 400hp in a DD pickup is plenty of enough.
With a 540hp I6 in the same truck, I can't see how they don't upgrade the Hemi at some point from having under 400hp.
I hope that the E-Tourque system is phased out, as numerous others have noted, as it adds extra complexity and potential for failure. I have a low-tech Hemi, and it just works. IMHO - plenty of grunt and go fast when needed for ME. It does/has done all that I have asked. I had a heavy-duty diesel truck previously to do heavy-duty things. My needs changed, and now I have the Harry Home Owner truck, doing all the Harry Home Owner things.Let’s be honest 400hp in a DD pickup is plenty of enough. Would I like more power… sure but can’t ever say I even used all 400hp in my everyday life, it’s just not necessary nor is it a sport car where I feel the need to unleash all the horses.
Hemi will play a similar role to Ford's 5.0 or GM's 5.3 - it isn't meant to be the most powerful option, and now that Ram has the Hurricane, it has no need to be.Let’s be honest 400hp in a DD pickup is plenty of enough. The new I-6 Engines appear to be great technical marvels. But, man, they have made them extremely difficult to maintain (wow). If they keep the Hemi at the reduced complexity for the routine maintenance procedures, they will sell lots; if they adopt the complex maintenance procedures, there is a high potential that the Hemi will not sell well.
There are some good things about the potential of the Hemi in race trucks. We all will see the durability tested and most likely improved on the assembly line in the immediate future. The after-market will also be able to learn from noted failures, and improved after-market parts will come to market to support the Hemi owners in the market. And we will all benefit from those improved parts as bolt-on replacements in the future.

That's your opinion. My opinion, and my cash, want 540hp and no doubt I'm merging without an issue. I bought this last August and have a smile every mile.Let’s be honest 400hp in a DD pickup is plenty of enough. ^^This. Truth is, most people use a half ton truck as a car most of the time, and maybe occasionally tow a boat or small travel trailer. Maybe haul a load of mulch home for the garden. I'm in that category. And for that type of use either Hurricane variant should be a great engine. People who regularly work their trucks harder are better off with a higher displacement naturally aspirated engine. But I'm sure plenty of people here will disagree with that so I'll don my flame suit. The hurricanes don't have the duty cycle of an iron block NA v8. This is why last year they kept the 6.4 in the 2500 with "only" 410 hp, and why they didn't put the HO or even the SO in the 2500.
Some of you only see one thing: 0-60. That's fine, that's your preference, but a lot of guys know what they want in a truck engine and it's not a small turbo.

And thats perfectly fine.. Ive said it before.. offer both as an option and let the buyer spec and buy what fits them better… but lets not act like 350-400hp can’t merge on the interstate just fine this isn’t the Autobaun system hell even then it wouldn’t be a problem.

Honestly, you read that statement from him and you know he's just looking to justify his own purchase.
