Changed Dash Speakers To Kickers...WOW!

Sorry to bring an old thread but I thought its still relevant. Upgraded my dash corner speakers with kicker csc35 from crutchfield today and wow sounds awesome! Muffled sound is gone and lot more dynamic. I combed through the entire thread and some people found it too bright but to me its just right. Also tried moving the sound stage to the back by few clicks as people suggested but I ended up changing to it dead center because I like the sound stage coming more from the front and sounded more full. Also left mid at 0 and treb -1, base -2. Have the uconnect 5 alpine sound system.

I combed through most of this thread until my eyes crossed. I have a 2020 limited with 19 speaker HK. I swapped my stock sub into a skar sub box. Like the difference. Any other speaker swaps that would improve the stock system. Something that is reallly noticeable. .

If you feel the dash is a bit too bright, you can try the Faital Pro units to smooth that out a little... 3 drivers across the dash - from Parts Express.

I disconnect the top door speakers to improve the front soundstage and imaging.

i went with Pioneer TS-A879 rated at up to a 100 watts RMS and i gave them alot of power, they were a great up grade i can recommend them. then i got a kenwood KFC-XP6903C 6"x9" Component Speaker System and took the pioneers out because i figured the kenwoods were a matched set the KW's have a soft dome tweeter the pioneers are hard dome that in it's self is the difference between bright or smooth. you want crisp/bright get the hard dome you want smooth not so bright then silk or soft is the way to go. it's a matter of taste.

BADRAM how much improvement do you want? it comes down to your budget. i had the alpine/Laramie my friend had the HK Limited, i thought the alpine was ok. my friend ripped his HK out before i had a chance to hear it LOL. the HK is all tuned to work together it was not just thrown in. that being said the HK amp really is not powerful so changing the stock speakers is a gamble. the sub is the weakest link on a tight budget i would leave the HK amp and speakers in and add a amp and sub's. a subwoofer is the biggest improvement you can make to a stock system even if it came with one. believe it of not that will make your highs sound better. i worked at "HIFI SOUNDS" in early 2000's every install i did that to impressed me considering what i spent vs what they spent.

I feel like my truck has a good amount of bass im not too audio savvy im looking for crisper vocals and clean treble lol

how are those cdt's working out? i almost got a set. i had cdt 6.5's in the doors and i put cdt ES-02EXX in the dash to replace the cdt unity 7.5's wideband's . i blew a ES-02 they got replaced under warrantee i have not opened the new box so i ended up changing the doors out 3 times your dash speakers came in the set i settled on for now. Kenwood KFC-XP6903C (pretty nice set). a decent coax in the dash is a improvement and a 6x9 in the door seem's better than the 6.5's i can get at my pricepoint.
whew i got my kenwoods for 173 last month. same seller has them for 279 now. i assume that's tariff related. glad i got them when i did.
edit - all this talk i went out took out the kenwoods and threw in my Pioneer TS-A879 3.5's they sound better than the kenwoods, much more crisp IMO . they are 30 bucks cheaper have higher power handling and higher sensitivity so they get louder with the same amount of power. fit the dash like a glove.

I think they sound good as is, especially with windows closed. Tuning the EQ doesn't help you get closer to what you want?
Yea I think it’s good but I just wonder if there is anything BETTER that these audio enthusiasts have done to limiteds with a vast improvement?

seriously, give the Pioneer TS-A879 a shot they are like 69 bux cheap enough to be worth the gamble. every review on crutchfield that evolves a 5th gen was good. not HK but they were a huge improvement to the alpine in my truck. they are really high quality and you get 60 day's to return them if you don't like em. you got nothing to loose. like i said above i threw them back in today. very crisp and clean sound.
