Gunna install the resistors that come with the inf reference dash speakers. Think I’d need anything else in addition to those?
I don't think you will need anything else, does crutchfield send resistors? Also, watch where you pull your door panels , start low towards the front, I had my drivers door separate where the two halves meet, had to epoxy it back together.

Here is where you don't want to pull on it

Crutchfield says these resistors are included (see attached), that’s what I was planning on installing. And thanks! Definitely don’t want to bust a door panel lol

Can anyone share their opinion on the door 3.5s for an HK system? I love the Infiniti 9630 6x9 idea for the front doors, but didnt see confirmation if its worth putting the Infiniti 3032x in there too while the panel is off? Thanks in advance!

I want to replace mine too but you will have to do some manipulating to get it to fit.

I swapped all the speakers with infinity including the 3.5s in the door. I have the HK system. All I did was use the included black mounting screws and offset the speaker a little from the original location drilling into the door plastic. There is a beefy piece of plastic right there to drill into. When you look through the grill the speaker is not exactly center to the cutout but it’s close enough. I don’t have any pics. Sorry.

Installed these kickers today. You guys weren't kidding. Excellent upgrade. I've got the alpine system for reference. Kept all of the bass but the vocals are crystal clear now. I didn't change any settings to the equalizer. Just plug and play with the adapters from Crutchfield. I think I'm gonna leave it alone now because I feel like if I do the center dash speaker I'm gonna move to the front doors, then the rears, then the....well you get the point lol.

Don't do the front doors. At best, you won't notice a difference. At worst, you'll lose some bass.

Probably not an easy question to answer but did replacing the door 3.5" speaker make a noticeable difference?
I decided to go the cdt audio route and am putting the 2" HD2 speakers on the dash so I have extra infinity 3.5" speakers that I was going return but could put them in the door if it's worth it. I'll be opening up the door to install the cdt 6x9" woofers.

Thanks in advance.

No where to put it in the door, unless you are going to be cutting stuff up

Anyone have an extra Infinity Reference 3032CFX dash speaker they want to sell?

I am going to try swapping out the 3 dash speakers to see if I can notice any improvements.

PM me if you have an extra you want to let go of. Thanks!

I've read a bunch of these post but can't say I know what's the best way to upgrade the stock 6 speaker system.

Infinity reference all around. If you’re still unhappy, get a a 4 channel amp. I did components for the front door speakers with the passive crossover, and used the supplied bass blockers for the dash speakers.

Ok, I've read the entire thread. All of it. Whew!
I have one important question that I'm still confused on. On the stock 6 speaker system, do the front door speakers get full range, or are they mid/bass only? I assume the rear door speakers are full range as well; is that correct?

The back and front doors get full range on the base system. Took me a while to figure that out as well!

First post here! Wow. I read through this entire thread over the last two days. I just bought a new 2020 1500 Big Horn with the base 6-speaker system. I already ordered the Infinity Reference 3032 3.5" speakers to replace the factory dash speakers. They should be here Saturday and I plan to just work on the project in stages.

I want to add a 5-8 channel amp and run all the speakers and 1-2 10" subs from that. In my younger days, I used to install the component sets and make a custom mount for the tweeters in the door. If I'm reading this thread correctly, I don't think the tweeter will perform very well from the stock system but it should be fine once I install an amp. I like the idea of having an additional tweeter in the door to provide more high-range that is currently lacking. The plan is to run new speaker wire from the door speakers whenever I upgrade them and to just leave them hanging. Sure, I'll have to remove the door panel to connect them but it will make the amp install easier when I get to that point. This is the component set I am considering for the doors.

I haven't fully decided on an amp and sub setup. I would likely fabricate my own box but haven't explored that design or location. I've been exploring the different ways to properly interface with the stock system. I don't know which direction I want to go there. I'm not opposed to running an additional dedicated mono-amp for the sub. I am not necessarily looking to win any competitions or be heard from half a mile away. I just like driving with the windows down and having good quality sound which is basically impossible right now.

1. If I were to run the 3032 in the dash and then the 6x9 component set in the doors, possibly front and back, what kind of power should I be looking at from the amp? The components handle up to 125w RMS and the 3.5" up to 25w RMS.

2. Is a 6-channel the best option for the speakers if I'd be running three sets of speakers? (Dash, front door, rear roor) Do I consider the 4/5-channel option and not connect the dash speakers if I'm running the 6x9 components with their tweeters in mounted in the door?

3. I have not run new speaker wire in a car since like 2001. How difficult is it to run speaker wire in these trucks?

I'm sure I have more questions. Reading through this has helped a lot and put me on the right track but things are obviously much more difficult than they used to be so I need to make sure I'm making the best decisions. Thanks!!

Have a big horn with the basic system and am looking to upgrade. Crutchfield has two kickers listed that are supposed to fit. Any opinions on which speakers to get?

Check out this thread.
It is mainly about the 6 speaker base system. Seem to help me more and be less confusing.

Great info here. I read most of the post but may have miss but what infinity are y’all using in the rear doors Of the alpine 9? Two or three way 6x9? And does any vocals come from the doors?

Another question. Has anyone used just a 6x9 mid and low woofer In the front door? since it only get that single and not the full highs and low?
